• Windows DVD maker cannot find burner

  I have a Pioneer DV-215 (latest firmware) DVD burner, but the creation of Windows DVD does not recognize... It it will appear in the drop-down menu at the top of the DVD maker... tried update dialog box drivers etc with no luck... All other birning programs, windows MediaPlayer etc. seems to work very well with it.

  I found the cause... not really the answer... but it works

  Posted on the forum below... it seems that the acuse of deliverance is the "HUAWEI E220' Wireless 3 G modem (provided here in Australia by '3' mobile)... As soon as it is unplugged, the creator of Windows DVD correctly identifies the DVD burner...

  I think this may have something to do with the fact that Windows identifies as 'CD player' inbuild flash memory in windows Explorer

  I own a canon ixus 120 is, I'm trying to burn a movie to creating windows on a dvd - rw disc dvd movie, allows you to record still images on ok, but when I try to burn movie I get message "one or more of the files that have been added in movie maker impossible dvd decoded correctly.   Make sure that the video you are trying to burn are not damaged. To see whether the videos you want to burn is corrupted, try playing or viewing with Windows Media Player. If the files do not play with the player, Windows DVD Maker cannot burn.
   
  The error message says to install the software for decoding on the computer in order to successfully burn the video DVD with movie maker. We recommend that you browse the disc that came with the camera to the cross check if there is no software to install.

  Long time user WMM, but with the recent switch to Win7, I'm having a hard time with WLMM.  In short, create the movie in WLMM is a snap.  Burn a DVD quality is another story.

  I am using video clips high definition AVCHD from my new Sony CyberShot camera and showing the film on a Samsung 50 "720 p plasma.  If I burn a project WLMM created (Save Movie-> burn a DVD) and burn it in DVD maker, the quality is absolutely terrible on the plasma. It looks like an old VHS tape.  So, I guess the resolution 480 I saved is the problem.

  So, if I save the project with high-definition (720 p - 1280 x 720) in WLMM and try to extract this file in Windows DVD maker, I get the error "0 files have been added.  1 file could not be added.  The \xxxxx\xxxxx\xxxxx.wlmp file is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported. "How is it possible that Windows DVD maker cannot burn a file created by its sister product Windows Live Movie Maker?  Am I missing something here, trying to extract a file to DVD Maker WLMM, or is it not possible?  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  . WLMP is only the Live Movie Maker file... what happens if you save
  the Movie Maker project in the format video .wmv and then try to import
  in DVD Maker?

  I have the windows Director, went to Microsoft and tried to download Windows DVD maker but does not appear to have installed despite me try it 3 times, all I want to do is publish a movie!

  On Vista, Windows DVD Maker requires that you have Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.  If you have one of these versions, you should already have Windows DVD Maker and Windows Movie Maker 6.0.  These versions of Windows Vista are required to have copies under license from MPEG-2 to make a video DVD.

  I was not aware of a separate installer for Windows DVD Maker, so I suspect you look at something of a 3rd site part. If it is a Microsoft site, can provide you the address you use?

  Windows Movie Maker files are the format of Windows Movie Maker project. The files say things to Windows Movie Maker on your video editing project like video clips are used, which audio files you have imported, go to what transitions between clips, and whose effects are used. These files are essentially readable only in Windows Movie Maker and certainly doesn't work on a Mac. Two options to save a video file in Movie Maker are DV - AVI or WMV.   I seem to have the same problem as tantoe but when I clicked on the link in your message, it took me to the page, but the person's recommendation was not good; It (don't remember the name) had two links to click & when I clicked on the two I was redirected to a page that says that the page could not be found.

  The song with that I have a problem is "I'm in love (with a killer)" by Jeffree Star &, as with all my other audio files that I did NOT have this problem with, is mp3 format. I have a video in mind with this song & pictures I saved star but Windows Movie Maker cannot import it.

  If there is anything you could do, advice you could give, I would really appreciate it. This is my favorite song by Jeffree Star & it drives me crazy not being able to import it into Movie Maker. :-/

  I made a movie using Windows Movie Maker with video, photos, audio and added titles and transitions.
  The film lasts about 20 minutes.
  The size of the file is 1.31 MB

  All files are in the same place and no display of errors in movie maker
  I tried to publish the movie to my external hard drive which had plenty of available memory.   FWIW... Windows Movie Maker 2.6 is not an update... it's a disassembled
  version for systems that will not run Vista Movie Maker 6.

  The new version... would be Windows Live Movie Maker. It is quite
  different from version 6. If you decide to try it... plan on creating
  a new project because your version 6 files probably will not
  be compatible.

• Is what camcorder compatible with Windows Movie Maker on Vista Home Premium?

  I'm in a bit of a dead end.  I have to make and edit a film which is mostly clips stored in Windows Movie Maker on my old computer which has VISTA Home Premium/64 bit.

  In most old clips (that are compatible), I have to shoot some new images.  My recent purchase of a Sony camcorder does not work.

  Can anyone recommend a camcorder that will have files that are compatible with Windows Movie Maker?  My Sony clips seem impossible to move outside the Sony software so I can't convert them.

  I'm ready to buy a new camera.  I just need something compatible.  Would even buy a used one on E - Bay as long as it will work with the old Windows Movie Maker.

  Most camcorders these days support MP4. If it is HD. The new Panasonic cam I have here, I think that it records in MP4. Since it is 1080 p

  The old who is also Panasonic may have been old, (it is not HD), but it had a firewire port.

  But I think that it saved videos like WMV (I mean I don't know that it loaded in Movie maker, when I got it)

  You will have either to buy a program that supports MP4, or use a video conversion program and convert to WMV

Then trying to open the project on the SAME computer I get this message: the file C:\Users\Owner\Videos\LongHardRide2016.MSWMM cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer.
