Windows Movie Maker-cannot save the film project

Save movie maker file as a movie file.

When I try to save my project, I get an error message cannot save the movie to the specified location. This is a short video just a minute and a half or more. I have herd that if you owe a lot of stuff in there it will not save. I cut small pieces of clips and them repeated once or twice more as 3 - 5 times could this be it? What should I do to solve this problem and save it?

More than likely one or more of your source
the files are not compatible with Movie Maker.

See the following article:

Movie Maker - problem solving-
"Can't save a movie."

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
Music - wma, wav, wmv

Everytime I try to publish my movie in Windows movie maker in ANY type of format or quality or size or anything I get this message.

Windows Movie Maker cannot publish the movie to the specified location. Check the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the publishing location is still available, that there is enough available disk space, and then try again.

It's all the source files are still in use, and I don't have any changed or moved to new locations since I imported in WMM.

The publish location is my office then yes its still there.

I have more than 170 GB left on my C drive, and this video is only about 600 MB in the best format possible.

So I try and try again and I can't seem to post in any size, any quality or any place on my computer.

    Help, please.

    Hi Authorsz18,

You are able to hear the music in the preview?

Try to adjust the volume of an audio clip in the audio / music. And add music from the disc hard if you added songs to a DVD.
    1. right click on the audio clip > volume
2 adjust the volume with the cursor.

How can Windows movie maker, I stop the music, play a certain clip and not play again?

    1. Add the video file.

    2. on the home tab use Add music to add music to the full clip.

3 move the vertical slider on the film to where you want the music to stop.

    4. on the Edit tab, select Split.

    5. now, using mouse cursor select just the audio running along the top of the video AFTER your split point.

    6. press delete on your keyboard.

You could also do it by reducing the volume of the section of audio after the split to zero.

This problem could be related to the source of the files that
are not fully compatible with Movie Maker. And
This could indicate that the project is too large and
    complex.

Might be worth trying to convert your source

    In Windows Movie Maker...
To save only the audio track of a video clip.

For the timeline, drag the video to the
Track "Audio / Music. Then type... Caviggia Ctrl + P.
Reach... File / save movie file / ect... ect...

This will result in a file audio .wma. Do not forget
to drag the clip all the way to the left the
timeline or you will have no air circulation to the
