Windows Movie Maker: Music video goes black

I converted my file real player in a file WMV with WinFF. Then I transferred my clip in Movie Maker window. Now sometimes when I shared my clips using the split button, sometimes they go black and I can't see or hear anything whatsoever.

What is going on?

  • Windows movie maker problem: video cut or turns off

I have windows vista on my computer and I tried to use the windows movie maker program to make a music video.  the video I got was originally in MP4 format so I used Format Factory to convert WMV (I also did AVI).  for some reason when I'm working on the video images goes off and I can't see the stage.  Sometimes I get the picture but most of the time I don't have.  I also tried to use AVI format but the problem is always the same.

I read and I think it would be that the resolution could be the problem, if so, how can I change that on Format Factory?
It could also be that Format Factory is perhaps not good enough, are there other free conversion programs I could use?
other than that, I don't know why the image freezes (music plays again)
any kind of help will be greatly appreciated!

Format Factory is a good converter but I also

  • Windows Movie Maker audio/video synchronization problems

I am changing a video on Windows Movie Maker (5.1), and when I cut a piece of the file clip and trimmed other part beside him, some delay seconds started with the change. Only, it starts at one point and continued for the rest of the video. I need to solve this problem, and I'm terrible with computers. Can someone help me sort whatsoever?

It would be a massive help!

    Something to try...

For the timeline... trying to drag a second instance
video on the audio / music.

Right click / Mute the Audio track.

You can drag the file to the audio / music
left or right then maybe you can synchronize audio
    with the video.

  • Windows Movie Maker spans video

I use Windows Movie Maker 5.1 on XP.

When I import a video portrait in WMM, it spans the video to fill the preview, making the video look "fat". When I save the movie, the output seems tense.

Is it possible to maintain the original dimensions of the video, thus leaving a black space on the sides of the video?

Did some research and it helped:

    http://groups.Google.com/group/Microsoft.public.WindowsXP.MovieMaker/MSG/7d247728c94d19a2?hl=en

    http://www.windowsmoviemakers.NET/forums/ShowPost.aspx?&PostID=15544

It turns out that wmm does not maintain the proportions. At first, I imported my wmv video and turned using wmm, but it was tense. So I went and shot using another program to make potrait. When I imported it again, it is also tense. It turns out that that's the long way round. Sorry if I did not mention the full detail. I used the effect of 'spin the right person' and it worked. Thank you

  • Windows Movie Maker - music is not playing little matter what I do

I'm making a movie for my best friend for her birthday. I'm trying to use some of our favorite songs as background music. I'm going to and upload music and it is important, but when I put it in the movie and I play it, no music plays. I know that the film plays because my images in the film show the way they are supposed to. The volume on my computer is in place, and I went through all the audio levels and volume. I went upstairs, hit the clip and have a level of hihgh audio in the editing mode, I hit chronology and went to sound levels, and it is up. I even checked the properties of the songs I am trying to use, and they present themselves as a .mp3. When I went on google and other things to see what could be the problem, a page said that even if the music is in .mp3 form and other forms that work with Windows Movie Maker, they can simply not work. However, some of the songs I am using, I have used in other films I've done, and they do not work yet. So I don't understand what the problem is, and I've checked everything. Is there something that I don't check? Help, please! I really need to solve this problem, because I use movie maker for both school projects, and this movie would be amazing as a birthday gift.

    Hi monkeygurlsurfs,

If you get the sound from your pc in other programs, the problem is not hardware. Did you of updates or Windows updates or any software installed since the last time that your audio worked? Usually, if the audio doesn't work, is it a device driver conflict. Make sure you have the updated driver for your sound card from the manufacturer's website. Also, check your device manager to see if the audio device appears normal (no yellow exclamation point). You can try to perform a check of the filesystem (CFS) to see if there are any corrupt files that Windows can correct:

    The System File Checker tool:

To determine if the problem you are experiencing is caused by one or more system files that are used by Windows Vista, run the System File Checker tool. The System File Checker tool analyzes the system files and replaces incorrect versions of system files by using the correct versions.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

1 click on Start -> click on all programs -> click on Accessories -> - click on command prompt, Select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue.

    2. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow .

    3. when the analysis is complete, test to see if the problem you are experiencing is resolved.

If the problem you are experiencing started occurring recently, you can use the System Restore tool. Using this tool, you can restore the computer to an earlier point in time. The tool using System Restore may not necessarily help you determine the problem. When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. click on Start, type System Restore in the Search box, and then click System Restore in the programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue.

    2. in the System Restore dialog box, click choose a different restore point, and then click Next.

    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    4. click on Finish.

The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

Try these procedures and let us know how you do. If you're still having problems, we will be happy to help you further.

  • Windows Movie Maker preview screen is black! (is not black when read by Windows Movie Player)

    Hello.

I used Windows Movie Maker 6.0 for about a month now to make videos and then upload them to YouTube.
I had no problems at all until a few days before, when Vista says it wants to install an update (Service Pack 2), so it installed and then came up on Windows Movie Maker and when I tried to make a video, the preview screen was black and you could only hear the sound (no video). The clips are a gesture of challenge of the .avi files, but when I put them in Windows Movie Maker, they turn into audio files for some reason any! :(
Please help I need solve this problem as soon as possible!
    Thank you
    douglabe

Open the Device Manager by following the steps in the first link I provided in the previous answer, and then expand the graphicsoption. Your graphics driver is listed under this category. If you double click the driver that is on the list, it will open the driver properties dialog box. You can go to the driver tab it and then click on the option to restore the drivers to roll your graphics driver back and see if this helps you.

You can also uninstall and reinstall the driver from there. To reinstall the driver, you will need to download it from the website of the manufacturer of the computer.

    It will be useful.

  • Windows Movie Maker: Small video and green screen

I've been taking videos on Movie Maker for quite awhile and I've never had a problem until today. I've got this show that I have edited. The preview reading is perfectly fine and everything works normally and then I publish. Publication is going smoothly, but something must of happened between this amount of time, because the video is now scrunch all upward on the top (its dimensions are now all distorted to extend over the screen to halfway) and on the bottom half there is just a green screen. It occurs only after the publication. I tried to change an option that I use when publishing... did the same thing. Then I thought maybe it was some kind of title effect I used... it's not. I tried to delete all the effects on my thing and editing like that... This isn't the problem. The only thing that could be a problem, it's that it's a different file, then I usually use I think that... I had like a torrent file, but when I look, it works well and is not. So I do not understand... any suggestions?

  • WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER MUSIC PROBLEM

USING WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER, WHEN I TRY TO IMPORT THE MUSIC, I GET THE MESSAGE THAT IT COULD NOT BE IMPORTED.  HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

Some audio and video file formats are not supported in Windows Movie Maker and cannot be imported. However, if you have a video or audio file that is not taken care of, you can use a non-Microsoft video editing software to convert the file into a format supported by Windows Movie Maker, and then import the video file or an audio resulting in Windows Movie Maker

You can import files with the following file name extensions into Windows Movie Maker to use in your project:

    • Video files: .asf, .avi, dvr - ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv

    • Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff, .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma

    • File Picture: .bmp, DIBs, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff and .wmf

If you want to import a file into Windows Movie Maker that has a different from those indicated above, extension in the file type list, select all files. Windows Movie Maker can import most file types, but not all types of files do not work when you try to use them to make a movie.

  • Impossible to import a clip in Windows Live movie maker or regular Windows movie maker avi video

    Original title: Director of windows

I can't import a clip avi video in windows movie maker direct or regular windows movie maker. Only the audio comes through. If I have the video edited and produced in other video software, such as cyberlinkthen the video and audio will come by for me to change. I am able to import it into windows movie maker. I use vista 64-bit. What should I do to make this work? Do I need a special codec? I use a hp pavilion p6140f computer

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    1. This only happens with a particular file type?

This seems to be a codec problem. Some files supported by Windows movie maker again you will need to install a codec before you can use the files in Windows Movie Maker.

You can use your favorite search engine to download and install a non-Microsoft video editing software to convert the file into a format supported by Windows Movie Maker

Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
