Windows Movie Maker stop during encoding

I use Vista. Try to burn DVD and it gets about 60% through coding and just hangs. I always need to restart and DVDE does not burn.  It seems that my file types are compatible. My monitor has a "shattered glass" look when the PC shuts down.  Specs. 2,81 GHZ; Athlon x 2 5400; 2.0 GBE RAM.  The processor goes to the maximum level of use, then the PC stops.  What I need to add more RAM or maybe upgrade to Windows 7? I heard that 7 does not have as much RAM as Vista.  Newbie here, but I have a ton of fun in the summer to burn to DVD.  Help please!

A few ideas and questions...

Publication (save) your project to the WMV format to a folder on your
hard drive and then import the WMV file that is saved in DVD Maker can
be worth a try. If it is a large project... you can create several more small
video files and each of them, would have become a scene (chapter) when you
import the Group DVD Maker.

It is sometimes useful to... Tools / Options / compatibility... tab and
Uncheck all filters.

The project may be too large or complex for your system resources.

What is the duration of this project?

What are the formats of files of your source files?

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
Music - wma, wav, wmv

In some cases, a file with a file type that Windows Movie Maker does not support may cause Windows Movie Maker stops responding. This can be caused by incompatible video filters. You can verify what filters are installed and force Windows Movie Maker to avoid loading specific filters by restarting simply Windows Movie Maker.
    Method 1:

  • Sometimes the clips in Windows Movie Maker will not play during preview and not at all after publication...

Hello!  I just create a movie using Windows Movie Maker (HP Pavilion dv6000/Windows Vista Home Premium).  During the PREVIEW, the first part of the video of my film sometimes will not play (view) while the audio continues. Sometimes he will play (view).  All clips are saved in the right place, the file formats are correct, and everything else that I think is done correctly.  In addition, after the publication of the video, he did the same thing; some parts of the beginning is not playing (see) only the audio.  I believe that this can have started happening after a few times when an error message pops up saying something like "Video player has stopped responding, but has revived with success...» "or something like that.

Now, I tried a few things to try to fix the problem.  I noticed that if I take the transitions and effects on the clips then they play but every time. I don't know why this happens only at the beginning of the movie and not all of the film since I also have clips with transitions and effects in the end.  Help!  This is my first time using this program/do a movie (and it's really good if I must say for me... he can win an Oscar! * smile *), but I wonder if I did something by mistake at the origin of this problem...

  • HP Pavilion a6110n PC stops when you publish movies with Windows Movie Maker

I use Windows Movie Maker to try to "Publish movie" for playback on a computer (creation '. ") WMV files") [200 MB of files created for 15-minute video].  When I run the app, even by itself, with no other applications running, the PC fan starts strong.  If the computer has served for a period of time, the computer will be completely and suddenly close, before ending the video creation.

If I run Movie Maker when you first start up the computer, the machine can finish successfully creating the film without stopping.

I don't know what I need to upgrade or replace.  The CPU is overheating?  Or the video card?  Or both?

If I need to replace the fan, any suggestion would be appreciated.  (I'm talking a CPU fan? Graphics card fan? or what?)

    My PC Specs:

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium SP1

    4 GB memory

    320GB SATA Hard Drive - 40GB available

    AMD 64 x 2 Dual Core processor 4400 + 2.30 GHz

Hi, Yes this video rendering really puts a load on your cpu!  The first thing that comes to mind, and the easiest to fix, is simply clean up the inevitable dust bunnies that accumulate inside the tower.  Have you already checked for that?  If this is not the case, remove the side panel of the tower and clean all the dust, especially around the heatsink from the processor.  Compressed canned air works very well for this.  Here is your product guide that shows how to remove the side panel: a6110n be sure to unplug the power cord from your machine before you start on it!  And let us know what you found.

In addition, I think that you may know this already because you have taken the trouble to include in your listing, but your hard drive is too full.  Vista is a resource hog, memory and available disk space.  He needs a lot of space to work.  And if it doesn't have enough room, it makes your memory and cpu have to work hard.  You ran a disk clean up lately?

Start button-> computer-> right click on drive C: Local-> properties-> click "Disk Cleanup".  A pop-up window appears.  I put a control over everything on the list.  Then click on the 'More Options' tab at the top of this window, look under "system restore and shadow copies ' and click on 'Clean up '.  Which may take several minutes if you have not done before.  When it's finished, go back to the top of this window, click on 'Disk cleanup' and click the 'OK' button at the bottom of the window to remove all the files that you checked.  You must THEN run a defragmentation.

In my opinion, and depending on how much space you freed up with cleaning the disc, you will need to spend at least 50 GB of your data files on this hard drive and maintain.   And then you need to add an additional hard drive to your system.  Many options for this just depends on your exact needs.

in any case, it's my ideas.  If cleaning the dust bunnies and the hard drive does not resolve the problem then perhaps someone else on the forum will be able to helpl with more technical type suggestions.  I think they're going to need additional information about your system, however.  For example, I noticed that you added 2 GB of RAM.  And you mentioned something about a graphics card fan, but your machine came with integrated graphics.  Also added a video card?  If so, exactly what video card do you have installed and have you also changed the power supply?  Any other changes to your machine to factory specifications?

    Hello

    ·        Have you been able to import before avi files to your Windows movie maker and the creation of DVD?

    ·        You are able to import another file without any problem format?

Try to import another file type (format) and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

Damaged codec is often a cause of crashes with Windows Movie Maker and Windows DVD Maker.

If possible, use a program to convert your Windows Media movies first and then try to import it.

    Step 2:

If the movie maker was working properly before, I suggest you to reset the windows movie maker settings. Follow the steps in the article mentioned below.

    Just some thoughts...

It may be useful if you are going to... Tools / Options / Compatibility tab...
    and uncheck all filters.

Also... it might be a compatibility problem with your source files...
(videos / photos / music files)

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Music - wma, wav, wmv

Also... If it is a large complex project, you could have a system
the question of resources. The answer would be to create
    more modest projects.

  • Windows Movie Maker 6.0 Vista immediately stops working when you try to open.

    Hello!

I've been all around the internet trying to solve this problem, but nothing has worked so far.  When I try to start Windows Movie Maker 6.0 for Vista, (in general), it stops working at their opening saying the following:

"Windows Movie Maker has stopped working".

There has been a few times when it actually opens and I can work on my videos, however, it's very, very, rare and seems to happen randomly.

I tried to open in safe mode, but it still fails to open.  I also tried to open .avi short and simple with WMM 6.0 files to see if it will be open, but that, generally, does not either.

Once, I was able to open random and I have disabled all the filters on the Compatibility tab and temporarily activated only video filters that I needed.  That seemed to fix the problem for several days, and I could open Movie Maker 6.0 several times.  Sometimes it would freeze everything and save, or stop working when importing video files, but at least it would be open.  I was able to record some videos.  After a few days, my computer day and WMM 6.0 is more open more.  I don't know if yes or no update is the reason why Movie Maker 6.0 started crashing again, but it was the only thing that has changed on my computer while I could uncheck the Compatibility tab filters and open WMM 6.0. [Could uncheck all filters to be part of the problem?]

I usually works with .mov files, and I read on how this type of file sometimes causes problems with Windows Movie Maker.  However, the problem normally occurs when I try to open the program (and if WMM opens, I can very well change .mov files).  I do not think that the file type is causing the crash, but I guess that's always a possibility...

I also read that sometimes Windows Movie Maker 6.0 for vista doesn't work with all computers that have vista installed, and Windows Movie Maker 2.6 must be used to place.  Windows Movie Maker 2.6 is working fine on my computer, but it cannot change the .mov files, or record in HD.  I had horribly degrading the quality of the video with the conversions of files to use WMM 2.6.  Windows Movie Maker 6.0 is much better, on the rare occasions that it works.  Do you think I should use Windows Movie Maker 2.6 now?

Here are two problem reports that appear more often when you try to open Windows Movie maker 6.0.  The window of support almost always said I need to update my computer again (even if there is no new update), or that it is a problem of security Data Execution Prevention.  Windows Movie Maker cannot be added to the list of exceptions to Data Execution Prevention, or I can check to see if the filters from the Compatibility tab are always disabled in the program, I don't know how to solve this problem...

The "BEX" error happens much more frequently than the "APPCRASH" error  In addition, I have Windows Vista home premium installed and a 32-bit operating system.  I don't know how to read the problem reports, or if it's all the information you need.  I'm not very good with computers at all the... Any help and ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

Very often, but not always, Code exception: c0000005 is a permissions access error, so have you tried right-clicking on the MM shortcut or .exe and selecting the option "Run As Administrator"?  Other times a reinstallation of the program crash can fix.  As you can not do with Movie Maker the next best option is to try the System File Checker.

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click on your drive icon / properties / tools / error checking.  Try first by checking do not each box (that it will run in read-only mode) to see if it reports any problems file or hard drive.  If so, restart it by checking both boxes and restart to allow him to attempt to fix any problems found.

  • create dvd windows movie maker and Windows stopped working

I've never had a problem with the creation of dvd windows or windows movie maker, but all of a sudden, the two do not work. In windows, creating DVDs when I add items to the dvd maker screen becomes transparent and stops working and I get an error message saying that windows dvd maker has stopped working, windows will notify if a solution is available, etc.. Same thing with windows movie maker. I have already registered the module 'iac25_32.ax' and I installed windows vista service pack 2, but it did not help. Here are the details of the problem:

    ==================================
It looks like the xvid.ax filter might be the problem?

Might be interesting to try to open Movie Maker and go to...
Tools / Options / Compatibility tab and disable all the
filters... or simply click on the button restore all default settings.
