Windows Movie Maker version 6.0.6002.18005

I use Vista Home Premium and I would like to know how to go about uninstalling this program.

Can you please help.
Thank you
David

Hello Briefs1,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

I would try using the Windows uninstall cleanup tool. Click here to download the utility.
You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. Remember that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility does not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall on.

See if this will help. If not, then you could try a 3rd party removal tool. Do a search on the internet you will find several you can try.

Thank you, Marilyn

  • Problem with the sync audio to video when you use Windows Movie Maker version 6.0

I have a HP Slimline Pavillion S.3220.uk PC, using Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. I have problems with the audio video synchronization when using Windows Movie Maker, version 6.0, I 'get' raw AVCHD files to .wmv using voltaic HD.  I've noticed that the audio and video are out of sync, ONLY after the first thumbnail.  No indirect problem with videos, but when people talk to the camera, in case of DISASTER, as he is out of sync. I tried to reduce the resolution of 720 p and 540 p, and no solution to the problem. Any thoughts on the matter please?

    Hi Fabian119,

Today, there are hundreds of audio and video codecs in use. Some were created by Microsoft, but the vast majority of codecs have been created by other companies, organizations or individuals. By default, the Windows operating system and the player includes a number of the most popular codecs, such as MP3, Windows Media Audio and Windows Media Video.

There might be times, however, when you want to read the content that is compressed with a codec that does not include Windows or the default player (for example, a file compressed with the DivX video codec or the Ogg Vorbis audio codec). Because the player is extensible, in many cases you can download the necessary codec on the web for free or for a fee.

You can visit the following links for more information on codecs:

    Hello

Configure the computer to clean start State to check software conflicts. See the following link on how to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 4 of the above article.

  • Windows Movie Maker (version 2.1) does not open my .mswmm project.

The WMM gives the error message "stopping" whenever I try to open this project.  I have Windows XP.  My project was started about 18 months ago, and I believe that WMM has been automatically updated since then.  I thought that an older project could be opened in a new version of WMM, although a more recent project could not be opened in a previous version.  I'd really like to reopen this project in order to complete and save, because I spent a lot of time to compile.  Would appreciate any help that can be given.  Thank you

    Hi ElisabethLee,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. are you able to create and save a new project using Windows movie maker files?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

Windows Movie Maker in Windows XP uses video and audio filters when you import, preview and record movies.

I suggest that you turn off the video and audio filters in Windows movie maker and check if it works.

To change the video filter settings

    (a) click on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the compatibility tab.

    (b) in the list of video filters, you can enable or disable a filter by selecting or clearing the check box.

    Change the video filter settings

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-XP/help/MovieMaker/change-video-filter-settings

    Method 2

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

First... I suggest you copy the VOB files to a folder on your

If you are under Vista Home Premium or Ultimate... try to import

If it still fails, you will need to convert the files to WMV format.
There are many converters available on the net... the following

  • AVI codecs in Windows Movie Maker version 6.0 (Build 6000)

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
I have worked on videos of music in WMM6.0 for a while now.  When I started a year ago, I could import the AVI formats without problem whatsoever.  Then one day, without any changes to the program or the video itself, my imported videos filmed vignettes in "AVI" boxes and were deleted from my calendar.  I tried to play on their return, but all that worked was the audio.  The video had been cleared.  They had worked before if.
Now, when I try to open the AVI I no longer get the dreaded audio box "AVI" or an error message saying that I should download the appropriate codec.  I scoured the internet looking for the codec I need, but nothing is.  On many sites, I have been told that the box "Download codecs automatically" in the tools of--> Options--> Legeneralonglet verified.  But I don't even have a checkbox with this title in ONE of the tabs Options.
I tried to download the latest version of WMM, as was suggested to me, but instead of download the AVI, he found himself by removing the other clips (.wmv) who had managed to survive the other version, by saying that they were not compatible either.
I removed this version of WMM and returned to WMM6.0 and downloaded the Windows Media Encoder (which was meant to convert AVI to WMV, which works on this version), but apparently to convert a file need you the codec for AVI.  I even tried to import the AVI file, and then place it in the timeline and try to save it as a .wmv, because a friend with the same problem said it had worked.  But, as I said, when these clips have been placed in the timeline, in the register only under the "audio" plus name.  The video is not the same.
Oh and I also tried to download a pack of codecs of microsoft.com, but they had them only for Windows XP and Windows 2003, and they would not move on Windows Vista.
I'm desperate here!  I fought with it for almost a year, and I really can't work properly at work or school without being able to use my WMM correctly.  Help, please!

    Bttrflymagic,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.

I'm sorry to hear that you have so much trouble with the realization of your movies.  It really looks like that you must download and install a codec pack for the types of files you are using.  There are a lot of third party sites out there that offer, some are free, and some are buying.  The best place to find this information is usually the forums frequented by others who are really into film making.  They can tell you the best sites for the best codecs and codecs for.  This being said, here are a few sites that I have heard are safe and offer a wide variety of codecs, but also a forum which has some very knowledgeable film gurus.

  • publication of slow Windows movie maker

    Hello

I use Vista os and I have 4G of memory, double two Core with e7300. I use Windows Movie Maker version 6.0.6002.18273. When I publish (join) several files together speed seem to be very slow, especially when compared to Movie Joiner or Ultra Video Joiner.  For example, a file size of 600 MB WMM takes approximately 60 minutes to complete whereabout other programs only takes a minute. That's a lot of difference here. I wonder if there is something I missed here. Maybe some plugins? Or is there some setting I forgot? The computer is defragged and works very well.

If you can open Movie Maker... try to go to... Tools / Options /.

I tried to import this hour long video in windows movie maker, and the result is that only five seconds of the video is imported. I seem to have the same problem as tantoe but when I clicked on the link in your message, it took me to the page, but the person's recommendation was not good; It (don't remember the name) had two links to click & when I clicked on the two I was redirected to a page that says that the page could not be found.

The song with that I have a problem is "I'm in love (with a killer)" by Jeffree Star &, as with all my other audio files that I did NOT have this problem with, is mp3 format. I have a video in mind with this song & pictures I saved star but Windows Movie Maker cannot import it.

If there is anything you could do, advice you could give, I would really appreciate it. This is my favorite song by Jeffree Star & it drives me crazy not being able to import it into Movie Maker. :-/

  • Movie Maker Version 6 on Vista Ultimate does not accept HD clips

I have Windows Movie Maker Version 6, which came with Vista Ultimate. My camera is an AVCHD, Sony HDR-CX500 model. It's movies high definition have the extention name .m2ts, for example "movie.m2ts". My Movie Maker program recognizes these movie files not high definition, although Version 6 comes with Vista Ultimate is supposed to accept and work with HD video. Why not? I have to download another version of Windows Movie Maker to match my camera? Where can I download this version 'HD' in Movie Maker? Sony offers a program called PMB that allows to convert his films in high definition WMV files. These WMV files are of course recognized by Windows Movie Maker version 6 and we can make a film edited. But the edited film is of inferior quality, certainly not a HD movie. No solution to my problem?

    Hi ecbritz,

You can use the converter that converts video files high Defination AVC HD, M2TS files to AVI or WMV format easily, format such as M2TS to AVI, M2TS, MTS to WMV, MTS to AVI and WMV.
