    Hello

My computer is stuggling to access internet, I get this message - your computer seems to be configured correctly, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding).  All the other computers in my house are connected without difficulty.  Any suggestions?

    Thank you

I solved the problem.  When my router lost power, somehow the addresses changed if the IP address of the Dell Wireless computer is no longer fell in the pool of addresses maintained by the router.  When I've reconfigured by router and had released and renewed my IP on the Dell computer, everything started working again.

  • Your computer seems to be configured correctly, but the device or resource (DNS server) does not

Yesterday afternoon after NO change in the system, I lost my Wired internet connection on my Dell XPS 630i running Win 7, but all the other wireless devices in the House are still able to connect to the internet.  I tried:

    * power cycle router, modem, etc.
    * reset the router (then reinstalled)
    * cables
    * checked NIC as much as I can because it is "integrated" and not his own card NIC I can reinstall (the light is on and says Windows adapter works)
    * all connection settings are set to automatic (without static IP)
    * I have also read through all the other posts with this same error message and tried everything listed there

This morning, I tried to connect to a wireless using a Netgear adapter from another computer to work in the House.  NETGEAR said it is connected to the network, but I still have no Internet with the same error message as above.

    Help!

If you did the Windows updates, then I should have mentioned that the KB2705219 update could be the cause and uninstall that solved the problem for some users.  To uninstall an update - control panel, programs & features, [left side of the window] see installed updates. Wait until the system has finished the research for the list of updates. Select update required, then right click and Uninstall.

But if you have McAfee then see this McAfee reviews.

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

While it remains the case that uninstall Win7 KB2705219 solved the problem for at least two users update, you should do the fix McAfee, if necessary.

I have McAfee, but the connection has started working again on its own so I thought I was clear of problems. However, when I checked it says he was doing routine checks the updates in vain when I told it to do a manually. So stick with McAfee without following their abduction - Reinstall procedure would have upgraded my PC at risk by not updated. Actually, I removed and then installed Microsoft Security Essentials rather & my answer IE is faster I knew it [even though I had the Add-ons McAfee disabled for centuries].

I had to run the MCPRT deletion a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

Hello, I have a desktop PC and a laptop (DELL Inspiron N-4050).
I have problem with my internet connection cable which is working fine on my PC, but does not not on my laptop giving an error "no access to the network.

When I troubleshoot it says "your computer seems to be correctly configured but the device or resource (DNS SERVER) is not responding."
I said to many technicians of microsoft online response, but they could not solve my problem and said this is my DNS problem and advised me to contact my Internet service provider. Guess it's because of my internet so why it works on my PC not on laptop?

Yesterday, my ethernet cable pulled out my cell phone and I couldn't connect to the internet more. But on my desktop PC, it works perfectly fine. (I do not use wifi, if this information is also required) I have studied several threads with similar situations, and I have tried different methods to solve the problem to no avail. I did a system restore, but I'm having no luck. Also, I did not of the latest changes with my anti virus software and my LAN card drivers look to date.

When I remove my cable from the laptop and again connect my cable then it works but only after the PC sat for awhile.

    Hello

This problem is limited to a specific Web site or with everyone?

You can approach this problem in two ways: first by simply disabling the cache, but also by restarting DNS client service, which manages the cached DNS queries.

    Method 1: Clear DNS Cache

    a. click Startand type cmd in the Start search box.

    b. right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    c. at the command prompt, type the following line and press ENTER:

    ipconfig/flushdns

Usually, it clears up any issue that may occur.

Method 2: Restart the Service DNS Services

    a. Click Start and run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    b. double-click the DNS Client service. If you receive a Configuration Manager message, click OK.

    c. in the Startup Type list, click on restart and then click OK.

    d. close Services.

    e. restart the computer.

Method 3: Configure the connection to obtain an IP address automatically

    a. click on 'Start', enter "NCPA. CPL' (without the quotes) in the search bar and press "Enter."

    b. right-click on the network connection, and then click on 'Properties'. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    c. click on select 'Internet Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) Protocol' and then click 'Properties' of .

    d. Select "obtain an IP automatically" and "DNS server automatically get an address.

    e. click 'OK'.

    f. highlight "Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Internet" and click on "Properties". "" "

    g. Select "obtain an IP automatically" and "DNS server automatically get an address.

    h. click on 'OK'.

    i. restart the computer.

  • Network connectivity error message

I have a Dell GX620 desktop computer and a laptop Dell D430 (two Windows 7).  I have Comcast Internet 50mbps with a gateway device 1 (Arris TG 862).  Whenever a race a diagnosis at home on two computers - wired and wireless - I get the error message: "your computer seems to be configured correctly, but the device or resource (DNS server), does not.  When I take the laptop in other places I never get this error message.  I saw a lot of posts online of people who receive the same error message, but all were unable to access the internet.  My problem is that I get this error message even though I CAN access the internet.  It makes no sense at all.  Other (possibly related) issues: 1) on the laptop I always wired 57mbps but on the computer laptop results are wildly incompatible (25-52mbps connected) and (5-30 Mbit/s wireless).  (2) on Xirrus WiFi Analyzer, the seller for my network is listed as Barnes-Noble.  Suppliers for other networks are indicated as Netgear, Arris, 2Wire, etc. or unknown.  There is another who has Barnes-Noble as a provider and network that was a BSSID identical to mine except for the second character.  The Barnes-Noble only I know is a bookstore and the closest is at least 5 miles away.  Also, this is meaningless.  (3) on Xirrus WiFi Analyzer when I run the accessible for DNS connectivity Test results ' fail: 100% Ping loss. "  Also, this is meaningless.  On Xirrus WiFi Analyzer when I run a quality Test of the result for the packet loss is 0%. Score of ping is ms 120-130, while that site says that even a decent score band width must be less than 100 and a jitter of Score is 15-20 ms.  I would be very happy if someone could shed some light on the issues detailed above.

    Hi hope,.

Try resetting the TCP/IP stack. Go to the search box of the start menu and type cmd and press ENTER. In the command prompt window, type netsh int ip reset, and then press ENTER. If this does not help, type ipconfig/flushdns , and then press on enter. Then, restart your computer.
Let me know if it helps!

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem, I understand that you can not connect to the network on your computer.

I can understand how frustrating it can be when things do not work as expected.

To better understand this issue, I would like to know the following information:

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. did you of recent changes to the computer before this problem?

    3. you receive an error during the network connection code failed?

DNS (Domain Name System) translates the URL in IP (Internet Protocol) addresses (and vice versa). For example, if you type http://www.microsoft.com into the address bar in your web browser, your computer sends a request to a DNS server. The DNS server translates the URL to an IP address so that your computer can find the Microsoft web server.

We will try the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you clear the DNS cache and see if that fixes the problem. Clear the DNS cache forces DNS to query a DNS server rather than using the information stored in the cache.

    Follow these steps:

    a. click on the 'Start' button.

b b.. in the search box, type "command prompt"

    c. in the list of results, click on invite and then click on run as administrator

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    d. at the command prompt, type ipconfig/flushdns

Restart the computer and see if that fixes the problem.

Method 2: If you still have questions, I suggest you refer to the suggestions of Meghmala responded on 28 June 2011 from the link below.

  • Cannot install Trend Micro 2012, receive error message: "your computer meets all the installation requirements, so Setup must stop."

Original title: Problems installing Trend Micro 2012

Tried to install Trend micro on my laptop, and towards the end of this way the message; "Your computer meets all the installation requirements, so the installer must stop." appeared. He then read "Windows update," I clicked on the link and also called microsoft who gave me the link updates from SP1 to SP2. I did (ran for almost 2 hours!) and recorded. I then checked the edition of windows under system and it has not saved the update even if it is registered and installed to my files. Tried to do the foregoing twice, still the same problem. Rang Dell and they sought to find an answer to the problem, but did everything they could. Still no answer to the problem after all. I have Windows Vista Home Basic as my operating system and installed Trend micro in the past with no problems. (Not sure if the following has nothing to do with it, but thought it might be useful a mention). I changed to Microsoft Office 2007, which has already been installed on my laptop for Office 2003, because I found it difficult from the laptop to the desktop and I didn't really want to pay for the upgrade of my office, if I didn't need it.

    Hello

You need to install Trend Micro Titanium 2012 Vista SP2 or later version

    See this: http://support.antivirus.co.UK/trendmicro/kbresolution.jsp?Hmid=53756&ServiceId=51&ApplicationId=345

I suggest you follow these methods and check.

Determine if SP2 has been installed or not?

To see if the update has been installed, review the installation history

To view the history of installation, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, point to all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    b. click view update history.

    c. find the latest entry for the specific update.

    d. If the entry shows the success in the status column, the update has been installed. If it says pending in the status column, the update is not installed.

Post back with the history state of Windows update, mistakes, if there is.

If the update is successful, if it does not show in system properties run System File Checker tool.
