Windows not mark the ad hoc network.

I've used this feature on my computer before about 6 months ago.  About 2 months ago, I had to reinstall the windows operating system 7 due to some problems I had with the software and my driver cd.  After using the disc of windows 7 dell, I had all sorts of problems.  Drivers have not been installed and ive called dell several times to get help with drivers are reinstalled.  I don't know if this information will help you to help me, but I thought I'd give some information.  Tonight, I tried to set up an ad hoc network so I can use my computer as a wifi hotspot and connect to my ipod touch.  When I went to create, I reach the screen when you type the name of the network, select protection and password etc.  I do all this and then click Next.  The box following dialog that appears says 'windows could not configure jon' (jon is the name I use for the network).  I don't know what is the problem, but I contacted the hardware support dell, they said that it was a software problem and I had to buy a software warranty for something like $250 and then I could talk to the experts in software and they'll fix it.  I told them I could not do that and asked how it was a software problem and the person just said that it was too advanced for the material support team and the software team would reconfigure the entire network... whatever that means.  So, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Jon

You can watch the Connectify help or Virtual Router to transform your Win 7 machine into a Wi - Fi hotspot against trying to set up ad hoc. Both are free and make use of the built-in hostednetwork. I use Virtual Router to connect my iPod Touch at times.

    Hello

User of the computer without experience here.  I have an iPad that works very well if I have WiFi available.  I don't have WiFi at work, so I am interested in the connection through my work Windows 7 computer, which is connected via a connection to the local network.

I did everything according to the instructions on:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/set-up-a-computer-to-computer-ad-hoc-network

However, when I put my key name and the network security and press 'Next', I get the message, "Windows could not configure [network name]."

There is no other error message and no indication on what I could do so that Windows is able to put in place the ad hoc network.

    What should I do?

    Thank you

  • DeskJet 3070 unable to connect to the ad hoc network

    Hello

I'll put up my new HP Deskjet 3070. This printer has wireless capability. I would use it wireless with my laptop Macbook Pro (OSX 10.6.8).

I don't have a wifi network or router at home. That's why I created a wifi (one to one) on my mobile ad - hoc network, named MyPrinterNetwork. This is the type of network used to connect a computer to the other on wifi. MyPrinterNetwork is then visible to other devices compatible wifi (other computers, smartphone,...), and devices can connect to the network (and share files or Internet by wifi). This thread http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/Connect-Deskjet-3070A-wirelessly-to-my... suggests that this printer is able to connect to ad hoc networks.

I then launch the HP utility to configure the printer. But when the screen appears with the list of available wifi networks, MyPrinterNetwork is not in the list. The list contains only the other wifi available through networks points (values in wifi mode column are all infrastructure) access. If I try to enter the name of a network manually, the software indicates that the printer cannot see or connect to this network.

    Executive Summary:

-Someone would confirm that the printer Deskjet 3070 is able to connect to the ad-hoc wifi networks?

-If so, why my adhoc network isn't in the list in the configuration utility?

    Thanks and greetings

    Johnny

    Hello Johnny.

Deskjet 3070 Network Infrastructure support only, it does not support the ad-hoc connection.

As you can find in the user manual:

    Traditional wireless connection (requires router)

To connect the HP All-in-One to an integrated wireless WLAN 802.11 network, you will need the following:

    - A wireless 802.11b/g/n network that includes a wireless router or access point.
NOTE: 802.11n will only support 2.4Ghz

A desktop computer or laptop with either wireless networking support, or a network interface card (NIC). The computer must be connected to the wireless network that you intend to install the HP All-in-One on.

    Page 33:http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02887357.pdf

As an alternative, try feature that allows the mac to act as a router in Mac OS X internet sharing Infrastructure mode:

    http://docs.info.Apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.7/en/mchlp1540.html

A limitation, you should be aware, the Internet sharing security supports WEP in shared only authentication mode that is not supported by the printer you can find below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02871178

Therefore, you should keep sharing without security password in order to connect the printer to the network.

    It will be useful,

  • Install HP does not see the printer in network, Windows DOES. Help!

    Hello

I am trying to add my HP Officejet k8600dn to Windows 7 (32 bit) so I can scan, but the HP Installer (add device) can not see the printer. The unit is set up by cable to a switch on my network via an ethernet cable. If I go into the menu "Add a printer" Windows, I can install the printer very well. But I have to be able to scan and I don't know what to do.

Tips on getting functional analysis if the HP software is unable to see my printer? Subnet mask and gateway on the printer are the same for the computer and the printer. I typed the correct IP address in the "Add a device" menu of HP, but he sees not just it. ARRGG!

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

I think that there is some confusion because the Officejet k8600dn is only a printer, it is not a multifunction device and does not provide the capability of scanning.

You can find the specifications below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01287217

If you have any different model printer, please specify the exact model.

  • Windows 7 does not see the xp on network machines

We are a store Dell running XP Pro on peer-to-peer networks... deployment of Windows 7 Pro workstations and laptops. Out-of-the-box, we put it sharing, discovery, working group; etc. However, some of the machines Win 7 do not see network XP machines and thus cannot use the graphical interface to map to different files and resources. You can their ping, set using "Net Use" or "Add a network location" or "Connect Player" as long as you know the complete path (ie: \\server\server_share\home\bill\cad\cnc.) But you can't see them in the network window to map the drive to records letters. I have studied this issue, has visited many forums and talked to many other tech all with the same question. The conclusion seems to be because it is a Win 7 problem not addressed XP came out. So the current thinking seems to be to use the commands Net use in an autoexec.bat file. So to use the latest version of Windows with XP, we need to use commands BACK maps automatically records. A huge advances in technology. Really? Tell us we're wrong and there is an answer?

  • Transmission of data via the Ad Hoc network in LabVIEW

    Hello

I'm trying to transmit some data (position, speed, etc.) a laptop computer to a host computer.

The laptop and desktop have the card installed wireless so I thought this would be a good

the idea of transmitting data via Wi - Fi using TCP.

However, the problem is that there is no router/modem in the area where the laptop is sitting

so, I create a network of Ad-hoc (computer to computer) between the laptop and the desktop computer.

Then, I use "ipconfig/all" in the Windows command prompt to extract the IP as follows.

    IP address wireless laptop: 169.254.165.72

    IP address Wireless Desktop: 169.254.102.126

    Desktop Ethernet IP address: 129.94.229.230

I then use the code example in the TCP library named 'Data Server.vi' and "Data Client.vi."

I listen on port 6340 times the wireless and ethernet desktop on the side map server.

And on the side of the customer, I opened a connection to port 6340 169.254.102.126 IP address.

However, the connection cannot be granted. Anyone know why this is the case?

Note: I have disabled all firewalls.

Interesting, when 2 computers are connected to the same modem, their IP addresses

differ only by the last number (e.g. XXX.XXX. XXX.123 vs XXX.XXX. XXX.256), but when an ad

the House of Commons network is established, their IP addresses have 2 numbers that are different. (XXX.XXX.

102,126 vs XXX. XXX.165.72) I wonder if this has nothing to do with the failure.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Ron Liou

    I somehow this job.

    What I've done

-Once again set up an Ad hoc network for the labtop and Office

-verification of the IP address is always the same

    > Portable wireless IP address: 169.254.165.72

    > Portable wireless subnet mask: 255.255.0.0

    > Wireless Office IP address: 169.254.102.126

    > Wireless Office subnet mask: 255.255.0.0

-switch on the ICS of the ethernet on the desktop card

(This resulted in an IP different addresses assigned beng)

    > Portable wireless IP address: 192.168.137.21

    > Portable wireless Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

    > Wireless Office IP address: 192.168.137.1

    > Office Wireless Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Now I use the ip address of office (192.168.137.1) to open the connection

    and it works! ??

I am very pleased with the fact that it works but I would like to have one

explanation on why it takes an ICS.

    Thank you!

  • Computer sharing internet with mobile phones on the ad - hoc network

Original title: ad hoc internet sharing network

I have only 1 computer at home and 2 mobile phones. My wireless router doesn't work so I can't get access to the internet through a wired connection to my laptop. I wanted to share the internet access from my laptop to 2 mobile devices, but I do not know how to do it. I tried to create an ad hoc network by following instructional videos online, but they do not seem to work for me. I have a laptop Samsung Windows 7 Professional. Any thoughts?

    Hello Mann,

The manual configuration of ad hoc steps network has really worked for me. I don't really know how much I missed. For my curiosity, I tried to open the link provided by Ramesh above and found some interesting things. I downloaded a software called the virtual router on the site - http://virtualrouter.codeplex.com/. In fact, it has worked for me and made my life so much easier. I just have a good concern, is this completely harmless software for my computer? I have not any refusal of Microsoft Security Essentials of any kind in any case. :)

  • RALink RT3290 does not "see" the 5 GHz networks (802.11n)

I just bought a HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC (number of product F9M00UAR #ABA) with victory 8.1 x 64 installed and the wireless card does not 'see' any 802.11n networks.  The driver installed is 5.0.37.0 with a date of 25/11/2013.

I've seen problems with upgrades to 8.1 affecting the adapter, but nothing works not properly out of the box on a new machine from 8.1 to WIN.  Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to force it to see 802.11n?

    Thank you

    Mark

    Hello:

The WLAN RT3290 card is only a single band (2.4 GHz).  He can not find the 5.0 GHz band.

Whenever you see a suffix of bgn on a description of the wireless card, it means that it is a map only single band (2.4 GHz).

Cards N whose suffixes ending with abgn or agn wireless dual band (2.4 GHz/5.0 GHz).

  • Windows 7 - why the priority of network adapter is ignored when you are connected to the area on a lower priority NIC?

I have two network cards installed on my laptop.  I wanted to test and see how Windows 7 Ultimate managed the priority of the network adapters so I connected to a small Internet (NIC B) router, and the other on my domain (NIC A).
First of all, it was a pain to find network adapter priority.  After some research and fun Google I found this.  Unfortunately, the search bar has not helped.
Control Panel-> network and Internet-> view network status and tasks-> to modify the adapter-> Hold down 'alt' to bring up the menu "File"-> select 'Advanced'-> select 'Advanced settings' in the menu drop-down-> adjust your priorities of the adapter in the 'Advanced settings' window, under the tab "maps and links.

With "B NIC", defined as the highest priority, I tried to browse the internet.  It was impossible to travel.  Then I disabled 'NIC A' (the NIC domain) and I can browse the internet.  Windows XP he handled this much better.

Select 'NIC A', and then check 'NIC B' is the highest priority.  Then try tracert on www.google.com.  It refreshes my domain as the first hop router.  It seems to be completely ignoring 'NIC B', unless I have disable 'NIC A' completely.

In case someone of another Vienna here, looking for the answer to this, as I did, I thought that putting the real solution to this question.  Many web pages say to change the priority of going on network connections and change the order there to what you like.  You don't have to bother with this setting.

It does not work. He has apparently no effect on the use of connections.

What Windows actually uses is the metric value for network connections.  The lowest metric value is tried first.  In my case, I have a connection broadband shabby home, but I can attach wireless on my phone for occasional good bandwidth.  So, I want to always use the connected wireless and ignore the wired connection, but still the chance to printers and other things on my network cable at the same time.  I want to keep both on and not to disable the wired when I use my phone.

To resolve this problem for real, go to and right click your Wi-wired adapters and one at a time to change the properties.  Select IPv4, click and then .  For each of them, disable the "Automatic metric" checkbox and set the metric value manually.  I put the wireless cable and 1-2, which gave me the behavior I wanted.

The Automatic metric is defined by Windows based on the speed of connection and a wired connection is generally faster than a wireless one.

  • 8.1 Windows not in the store after discount

I recently bought a HP Envy 800-060 with Windows 8, which I upgraded to 8.1. Yesterday, something happened which caused the computer not to be unable to start successfully, and I had to perform a system refresh. Apart from the inconvenience of having to reload the software, settings, etc., the restored system Windows 8, but the Windows 8.1 upgrade is not found in the store. The HP Wizard is no help on this, and when I went to the Microsoft website to try and download the upgrade from there, it just hit me back to the store. I guess somehow the Bank thinks that I've already updated, so it doesn't let me do it again. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

    Hello

Probably you are missing some required components upgrade patches.  However, there are other conditions that could cause the same problem.  See the link below.

Why I can't update in the store?
