Windows password does not work

Original title: password

I have not forgotten my windows vista password, but my laptop does not accept it when I type my password, windows does not recognize it.

I have two questions:

1. how to connect. Some say that a password recovery tool works, t - it really? What is it?

2. how to create a password reset disk? I inserted a blank disc, but the computer did not help me. What are the exact steps. ?

Hey regina,.

How many accounts user are there in the computer?

If you have a password reset disk or another account that has administrator rights, you can think to reset the password.

Here are answers to your questions.

1. There are many password recovery tools that are available for ecover passwords used to log into Windows. They must work. That's what the software is thought to, no?

Note: Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be resolved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

2. you create the password reset disk only after logging in to Windows. For instructions, see: create a password reset disk

Someone please help me with this!

I bought this laptop from a friend (have receipt) who sell it to me because the screen was cracked and spidered all out when you the activated. And everywhere he went to ask to get the screen fixed it is very expensive ($250 - $350) and he said that it would be just a newer laptop. So he sold me this which is a model Probook of HP4420s XT940UT #ABA. About a week after I bought this Probook friend who sold it to died me suddenly. It was sudden and terrible. Some time later, I had the time of the purchase of the LCD for this model, replace it myself (was very easy actually) and booted up the laptop with a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition. After installing all my software and using the laptop for a while now, I wanted to get into the Bios that I've never done. So when I started the laptop, click ESC, then F10 to enter the BIOS, there were two places to enter a password is different then all Dell I've ever owned. One was mine I guees I put in place using HP protect tools and the other says BIOS/administrator. Well I can do most of the changes with the one I put in place with my password but my password does not work, nor can I get in some very significant changes that I wanted to do using Bios/administrator, as kindling the LoJack, namely the blocking of the hard drive etc. , turning on turbo boost, fan, etc. Well, since the person I bought is no longer with us, there is no one to turn to the answer to this question of administrator/BIOS password / problem.  I tried to take battery Rtype and restore that way, didn't work. Several times, I called HP and they sent me to a BIOS page to download the same BIOS, I have already, would not let me install it. When I bring up the command prompt and do not put anything in BiosConfigureUtility.exe happens, said just a wrong command. When I try to enter the BIOS through the C: file in the files of the SSM, I reach the BiosConfigUtility.exe file, click on it to open it and it just flashes a way small order page to fast to read what it says. I would like to have complete control over my laptop thinking I have a lot of time and money invested in it now. The problem would have something to do with installing the 64 bit version of Windows 7 instead of the 32 bits I suppose initially that he came with? I have all the manuals and they say that this laptop is compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Pro is what I installed. I'm mixed responses from many different people on this and would like an answer from HP someone who has experience in dealing with the BIOS in the Probooks business models if possible please. I really like this Probook and have since become big fan of most HP, Dell and Lenovo.  I intend to buy two probooks, one for my wife and one for my daughter because this one is like a MacBook, but better.  Thank you for reading this and I hope someone can help.

    Model: HP Probook 4420 s

    Type: XT940UT #ABA

    Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate

    BIOS version: 68AHHH Ver.F.20

    SM BIOS Version: 2.6

    Hardware Extraction layer: Version 6.1.7601.17514

Once you open a session with the service the customer of HP one case of pension, they will provide once the utility you and steps to execute it. who can capture the UUID. BTW - UUID is a unique ID for each machine (16 digits or more) stored in the BIOS itself.

Once the results of the utility (UUID and other info) in the log file, shared with HP, they can generate a key file (SMC) to reset.

Well, depertment of technical support can help you in it, no need to ask for anyone in particular or the Department.

    It will be useful.

My password does not work. I get the message user profile service has no logon. Help please.

    Hello

    You can try the following.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.

Another option if the above does not help is as follows.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.

  • WRT160N... password does not work to get back in line to restore settings after update firmware.

The reason for the update of the firmware has been that the router would constantly disconnect, even if the ISP has been connected.  I was hoping that would solve the problem.

Failed to connect to router just after the firmware has been updated successfully (what said on the screen), but could not use "continue" to to precede.

Because the screen indicates the success, I closed the browser and reset the default router.

The next step in the process is to access the configuration page of the router web-based and restore my settings.

The PROBLEM... Now my password does not work to allow me access to the page of the router's web-based Setup to restore the settings.

I have an account, but nowhere in the account he mentions the password settings.

When you reset the default router, the router returns to a cache of user name and a password of 'admin' (without the quotes).  Please try to connect to your router.

If you continue to have problems, then you must try to reset the router by default.

To reset your router by default, follow these steps:

    (1) turn off all computers, the router and the modem and disconnect from the wall.
    (2) disconnect all the wires of the router.
    (3) turn on the router and let it start up completely (1-2 minutes).
    (4) press in and hold the reset for 30 seconds button, then release it, then let the router reset and restart (2-3 minutes).
    (5) turn the router.
    (6) connect a computer cable to port 1 of the router (NOT to the internet port).
    (7) turn on the router and let it start up completely (1-2 minutes).
    (8) the power of the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it's off).
    (9) try ping on the router. To do this, click the 'Start' button > all programs > Accessories > command prompt. A black DOS window will appear. Enter the following text: "ping 192.168.1.1" (without the quotes) and press the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that begin with ' response to... ". "or"Request timed out". If you see "reply from...". ", your computer has found your router.
    (10) open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to the login page of your router. Leave the user name blank and in the password field, enter "admin" (without the quotes). This will take you to your router configuration page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually found near upper right corner of the screen). Exit your browser.

If you get this day without problem, try the Setup disk (or configure the router manually, if you prefer) and see if you can get your work and router configuration.

If you can not ' response to... ". "in step 9 above, your router is probably dead. A report with this problem

If you get a response in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, is that your router is dead or the firmware is damaged. Related to this issue.

If you need additional assistance, please indicate your ISP, the make and model of your modem, the firmware version of your router and the results of steps 9 and 10. In addition, if you receive error messages, copy them exactly, and report.

Please let me know how things turn out for you.

    Hello AdrianaMonti,

I'm sorry but the Microsoft forum rules do not help users circumvent passwords of Windows OS or software systems.

I do not understand why you have problems with re-setup because it has nothing to do with your original administrator password. Your copy of Windows came pre-installed on your PC or did you buy a boxed copy and install it yourself?

If you are unable to re - install probably you get error messages. What these error messages?

Have you tried to close and restart Firefox or restart the computer to see if it have an impact?

What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?

If the MP password does not work and is not accepted if you get a prompt to connect to the software security device, then it is likely that the signons3.txt file got damaged or replaced by an older version.

You have a backup of files in the Firefox profile folder?
