  Hello! I have problems with my the finger print scanner.

  I have a HP Pavilion dm4-3107tx Beats Edition Entertainment Notebook PC. He cannot recognize my windows password when I try to save my footprint for windows logon.

  

  I know that the password that I entered is correct, and I tried to connect to HP SimplePass via my windows password.

  I tried a lot of troubleshooting by following threads in this forum, and also the following instructions from the HP support Web site.

  -i have a BIOS update

  -My SimplePass version is 6.0.100.276 (latest)

  -My biometrics device driver version is 3.4.4.84 (latest)

  I see that you are having problems with HP SimplePass doesn't accept is not your Windows password.

  Can you tell me if you use Windows 7 preinstalled, or if you have upgraded to Windows 8 or 8.1?

  I also suggest updating the SimplePass 6.0 software is quite obsolete at this point. You must use at least 8.0.

  You can download a more recent (8.01.11) here: HP SimplePass Identity Protection Software. This download works for all versions of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1.

  (1) disable Security TPM. Do the reset, etc.

  (2) use the control panel Windows users to change your password.

I would say to uninstall HP SimplePass and reinstalled the latest version for Windows 8.1.
