Windows Photo Viewer cannot open this photo because either way, Photo Viewer does not support this file format, either you do not have the latest updates to Photo Viewer

New PC with Windows 7.  Photos taken before the new PC either cannot be a spectator, or can be displayed but are in the right folder with the incorrect file names (e.g. cat photo is labeled as DOG)

In my case, when I plugged in my phone on my desk, it prompted me to update the software to communicate better with my phone. Immediately after completing the update was when I lost the ability to open images in Photo Viewer.

To solve the problem, I went to control panel, and then uninstall a program and then uninstalled the newest program associated with my phone. It was easy since I knew exactly when he started to act up. Some of you may need some trial and error to find the problem.

Just one question... when done scanning and recording of the scans...
you select the options to reduce the file size by compressing
    the photos?

If you have only a few of these scans... you could open their
one at a time in Windows Paint and go to... File / save as...
Enter a new name, choose a backup folder and choose .jpg.
This will create a new version of the same photo and I suspect
It will be compatible with Windows Photo Gallery.

I received an email with pictures and the bos appeared Photo Gallery can't open this picture.  The file format is not supported or you do not have the latest updates to the photo gallery.  I am running Vista on a Toshiba laptop that I bought in July 2009.  What I can do to update the Photo Gallery or something else to see the pictures.  I tried to download Stuffit Expander, but which did not help.

    Hello
Thank you for using the Microsoft Vista answers Forum.

What is the file format of the images?

All the pictures have the same symptoms?

Disable the antivirus software on your computer and check if it works very well.

Make sure you have all updates for your version of Vista.

You can also try the new Windows Live Photo Gallery, as it has more features and should solve your problem.

  • 7 the window does not have the latest version of EZ macros (even if the last update, I can find 2008)

    Greetings!

I think I can't be the only Gamer/encoder out there who still does not want to run this program. I know there are better Macro options out there but the ease of creation and
Speed/price of this program, I used since 1997 and I hope that someone knows how to do so that it can run in Windows 7.

I have updated with the latest updates for the OS and I ran through the emergency program. If I put it in "The program additional permissions" it will actually start the program and I get the prompt to let the program do change etc. etc. (yes I put tell me every detail :) but whenever I try to create a macro using the option do not forget mouse and keyboard I get the message, 'Unable to set the Hook'.)

I had more with a very old version of EZ macros at first but after completing the troubleshooting, I found myself in the same place.

If I just do a clean install and run the program I get the message "the server returned a reference" (not exactly what he says but very close).

Someone at - it a line on how to get this program to install. After purchasing a second computer I don't want throw 30-90 dollars for a program of macro that is probably more that I need and will last 10 times more memory than the older program.

On the site (AmericanSystems EZ Macros), version 5.1 is the most recent and the one I use.

Thank you in advance if someone does not know what to do

    GMR

    Hello

Try to run the program in Windows XP compatibility mode and check if it helps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If this does not work, then you can get in touch with the Publisher of the software to the latest version of the software available.

  • Photo Gallery can't open this photo or video. The file format is not supported or you do not have the latest updates of photo gallery

    Hello

A very complicated problem. that I ran.

I created a panorama with Photoshop CS5 (running Windows Vista).  There is a number of images BULLIES that have been sewn together using Psalm I flattened the image and saved in the jpg format.  This jpg image can be read by Windows Photo Gallery application

I want to create a larger image (72 "long) to print.  I went back to the PSD file and increased the size of the image in increments of 10% ~ 49 to 72 long.  Then, I saved this image to jpg (same options jpg).  As this image is corrupted when I try to see in Vista (Windows Photo Gallery).  It cannot be read in Microsoft Paint either.

In the end, I need to send this image to get printed but I fear that it is corrupt.   I tried 3 different computers to Windows Vista (laptop computers for desktop computers) and the corrupt message is the same

What is strange, is that Photoshop can open the jpg image.  Apple Image Viewer can open the image and my laptop with Windows 7 can read the image.

So I don't know if the image is corrupted or if it is a problem with vista or photo gallery

I also tried to open with Microsoft Paint and it doesn't work.

    Thank you

  • Windows Photo Viewer cannot open this photo because Photo Viewer does ' t support this file format, or you do not have the latest updates to Photo Viewer

Others have had problems similar to mine and I read all the posts but nothing seems to solve my problem.

I saved a bunch of pictures in a folder on an external flash drive that were originally attachments in e-mail messages. They run very well on the disc and I opened and one closed the reader a couple of times but now I can't seem to open it in the viewer of photos or any other viewers. I have other pictures on the same drive in other folders and they open without any problems.

The first time it happened I display thumbnails but could not open them. I just insterted my flash drive to see what was going on, and now I can see only 3 thumbnails on a total of about 50 photos. A lot of disk space too.

Any suggestions anyone. Thanks a lot if you can try to help him.

    Hello pentax12,

It should not make difference if the folder has been shared or not to see the photos.
I suggest you see if you can copy them to the hard drive and then try to open in the Gallery of photos or a different default viewer.

    Let us know.

  • I use a SanDisk Cruzer with U3 Launchpad. I had to stay with Firefox v3.6.26 because no more recent data does not have the U3 Launchpad working. Any suggestions?

OS Win7. I used this USB key for some time as a secure method to contain passwords that I use often. When I have been updated for Firefox v3 - regardless of the version which was at the time - a v4 the U3 Launchpad failed. I tried all autour work, I could find on the Internet. Nothing has been successful. I know that this software is no longer supported. If it is supported should set if it works. I think it is an unacceptable excuse. I support is no longer my daughter, but it still works. She is a much more complicated machine than a PC and a piece of software.

Sorry, U3 versions of Firefox were not made by Mozilla. This version is a modified version of Firefox made by a 3rd party and this 3rd party is responsible for its "support. I've never used and cannot help you with it.

Have you thought about switch to Firefox Portable, which is made by the crew while in the Portable Apps?

    http://PortableApps.com/apps/Internet/firefox_portable

Portable Apps existed for much longer that the U3 Launchpad was and is still operating and growing with the number of applications available.

    Hey Adil_hadi

by the sound of it, you have not used the vista disc management program to do this job

You can not reduce the other partitions and vista disc management allows to fix the pieces of them on the c: partition

is that correct that you have used 3rd party disk partition software?

normally in vista disk management you must delete a full score, then extend c: into the now unallocated space where the other partition was to expand the c: partition

and vista does not have the means to move partitions on the hard disk

for any problem you have if using partition software disk, 3rd party contact the programs manufacturer

  • Error message - Windows cannot open this file after downloading program

After several days in offline mode, I went online to update Microsoft Security Essentials and click on analysis complete.  It took an hour.  After that, I found that all my programs were virgins, almost of all of the standard microsoft Microsoft Security Essentials is.  I tried to download it again, plus others such as adobe acrobat, but all said "windows cannot open this file".  I asked help from Microsoft but received access denied.  I feel like an illegal immigrant, as all the doors were closed.  What does that mean?  My OS would be illegal?  It is Windows XP and was purchased new in the retail price in 2004 and has only once been out of my hands when I sent it repairs and have 2 GB ram added.  Any ideas?

  • Error - Windows cannot open this file when trying to install Microsoft Gadgets.

Original title: how to install gadget from Microsoft.

I down loaded the gadgets and themes, when I go to install, Windows cannot open this file. If I get them from microsoft, it seems that windows can open.

    Hi mikemontgomery,

If you use windows XP, it is not possible to install Microsoft Gadgets on it. Microsoft Gadgets are optimized for Windows Vista and Windows 7 only.

However, you can use your favorite search engine to download third-party gadgets which can serve the purpose.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
