Windows search 7: beach of file names

Is there a way to find Windows Explorer to search for a range of files?  For example the images from 1 to 99 IMG0001-IMG0099.

Thanks in advance.

You can type this as a search term:

IMG00? and it will find only files that start with the letters IMG00 and then followed by two additional characters (regardless of whether they are, from 01 to 99). Question marks are strict wildcards.

You can also simply use IMG * to find any file that begins with the letters IMG, then maybe do not have anything after that either.  It is a generic character of openness.

  • Is there a way to keep InDesign CC2015 export or save as window to pre-fill a file name?

I know the obvious answer is to simply delete the pre-filled text, but I was instructed to reach a solution to keep this empty window, to avoid errors. We are on 10.11.5.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

There is no native way to do this. You could try the script forum to see if anyone can script a solution for you.

  • Change the path where Windows search displays directory name

    Dear Sir

I'm regularly using Windows search and I am facing some problems with the way the folder names appear.

Imagine the following situation: I have three files, called text.txt, located in the following directories:

    D:\Folder_A\SubFolder_1

    D:\Folder_A\SubFolder_2

    D:\Folder_B\SubFolder_1

When I launch a Windows search to find these files, I will get answers in the column 'file ':

    SubFolder_1 (D:\Folder_A)

    SubFolder_2 (D:\Folder_A)

    SubFolder_1 (D:\Folder_B)

When I then click on the "Folder" column header to sort, I will get following result:

    SubFolder_1 (D:\Folder_A)

    SubFolder_1 (D:\Folder_B)

    SubFolder_2 (D:\Folder_A)

This way of sorting mix main directories "D:\Folder_A" and "D:\Folder_B", which is false.

This problem is due to the fact that the names of directories are not displayed as '' but as ' ()", which is not what I want.

Is it possible (as a registry key) where I can configure my Windows 7 to display the names of directory as '' (as in previous versions of Windows)?

    Thank you

Right-click a column header and choose "More"... "since the menu drop down.

In the choice, find the path and turn it on.  When you click OK, the new column 'path' will be the one you like (showing the full path).  Example:

  • When I do a file search he finds all files with the same keyword, I'm on windows 7

File search only returns a file name in the search when there are several files whit the same keyword as I entered, this just started to happen.  When I typed a keyword in search it returned previously all files with the same keyword, now it returns only one of the files?

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll give it a try and get back to you.

I agree about the garbage, I got several questions on my HP Desktop & Windows 7.  My system crashed once, he took over at Best Buy, they told me my operating system has been altered, but could not tell me how to reload my OS unless I paid them $ 125 for the info.  In any case, I took my corrupted HP back at home plugged and it started as nothing is never past, sickening!

  • Windows Search returns "cannot access the file ' res:...» »

Lately, whenever I use Windows Search, then click on a file that was returned in the results box, I get a weird error message that begins: Windows Search.  Cannot access file ' res:... "and so on.  Sometimes it opens then the file I want; other times, it opens a file that has nothing to do with my research.

In my situation, on two computers, I checked with Windows XP, this seems to happen when I click on an Adobe. PDF file in Windows search results. The exact message is:

Unable to access file ' res://ieframe.dll/navcancl.htm# [path to file]-.pdf [file] "."

The Windows Search Preview pane does not display the contents of the file, but the file opens successfully in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. It comes with a simple click on the file, not a double click.

  • Windows Search 4.0 on Windows XP - cannot find partial words in Outlook messages

I have recently installed Windows Search 4.0 in Windows XP SP3 in order to more easily search my email in Outlook (which is connected to Exchange). Before I installed Windows Search 4.0, I could search on partial words or numbers, which is particularly useful when looking for emails about incident support numbers (I work in the level 2 technical support) - e.g. "12345" search would find all messages containing "INC000012345". Now, I have to look on the total value - for example 'INC000012345' to find messages. The search in Windows Search outside the email - files on my machine, it's - works well; If I search for "12345" he finds, for example, a PDF file with the word "INC000012345" in the file name (or the contents of the file). How can I fix? I tried using wildcards without success, as well - for example "* 12345" or "INC * 12345".»

    Hi shifuimam,

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums as it relates to research on Outlook connected to Microsoft Exchange. Appropriate in instances of Exchange Server.

Please ask your question in the Forums of Exchange Server.

  • Insert "illegal" characters in file name for label printing?

    Hey all (Happy New Year)

I actually see people here who have helped me with this there is responsible for so many years (Hello 'x'). Sort of, I use this .js file for annotate aerial images before printing, and I know just enough about scripts to make changes to the basic layout as the need arises - so far. A new retentive mgr rather anal don't like the replacements I did for some "illegal" characters that windows does not allow in file names. For example, the file name used for the annotation is:

    001 0003 1in = 660ft CFL 154_074 01-01014 503 - 013.tif

But Mr. Bishop love not in, the ft and the use of the _ instead of a period (.), so what I need is a change that goes something like (and note that I DO NOT code, so stop laughing).

"Find and replace by", find ft and replace by "and search for _ and replace by," so the final annotation written in the image is: ""

    001 0003 1 "= 660' CFL 154,074 01-01014 503 - 013.tif"

My current .js is lower, I'd appreciate any help. Thank you! TLL
