WIndows Server 2008 R2 the number of activations?

I was wondering how many times he can be reinstalled and that active?
I got it on the DreamSpark site.

I hear her 5 times for Win 7 and 10 for the servers, but I don't know if it of true or not.

2nd question:

If I miss how should I do?

I see that you can phone to activate?

So plug in a microphone and talk to the operator or I do type or what?

See what I mean (of another Member of the forum):

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
(2) press the ENTER"" key.
(3) select your "country" in the list.
(4) choose the option "activate phone".
(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.
(7) the person must give you a confirmation ID, copy it down on paper,
(8) check that the ID is correct in reading the support person.
(9) to enter the ID number, then click 'Next' to complete the activation process.

  • Clustering Windows Server 2008 and the STORport driver

    Hi all

I recently read on the documentation for "Setup for Microsoft Clustering and Microsoft Cluster Service".  It says to use the LSI Logic STORport drivers with Windows Server 2008 clustering, instead of SCSIport drivers. I can't find the STORport drivers anywhere.  I can't find this on the LSI Logic's Web site.

    TIA

  • Windows Server 2008 SP1: The C:\Windows\winsxs folder consuming 15Gb (!) of disk space.

It's really annoying because at the time of installation, we thought that 25 GB should be plenty for the drive that contains the operating system only! Now we ran out of disk space on C:! (The only software installed on top of Windows is SQLServer 2008...). We organize this server and it's VERY expensive to get the C drive extended by our provider. So I'm looking for a solution urgently... and I can't seem to find it.

    Three questions:

    1. is there a tool offered by microsoft to reduce the size of this folder?

    2. upgrade to Windows 2008 R2 reduces disk space on C:\Windows\winsxs. In this way we can (temporarily) expand the capacity, perform the upgrade and return to 25 GB.

    3 - is Windows 2008 R2 also having this winsxs 'feature '?

  • Impersonate user without privilege preferred to access the registry on Windows Server 2008 key/value.

    Hello

I'm trying to impersonate another Administrators\ [an other domian user] to do some access to the registry key/value with an Administrators\ [my domain user].

Failed with some registry access denied.

    The code is quite format.

    1. the user to logon: LogonUser (username, domain, password, LOGON32_LOGON_INTERACTIVE, LOGON32_PROVIDER_DEFAULT, Ref token)! = 0)

2 DuplicateToken: DuplicateToken (token, SecurityImpersonation, ref tokenDuplicate)

    3 impersonate another user:
    m_ImpersonatedUser = new WindowsIdentity (tokenDuplicate);

    using (m_ImpersonationContext = m_ImpersonatedUser.Impersonate ())

    {

    access to the registry key.

    ...
    }

This works on Windows7 and some windows server 2008, if the new WindowsIdentity.AuthenticationType is "Kerberos", then it works, but if it's the "negotiation", it will fail.

Can someone tell how to force the AuthenticationType to be "Kerberos"?

  • Start the UCM 11 g and IBR on Windows Server 2008 when you start the server

    Hello

I installed ucm 11g with an inbound refinery on a 64-bit windows server 2008. The AAU and the bovine infectious rhinotraecheitis are supposed to start automatically after the server is running.

    1. I put the startWeblogic.cmd and the startNodeManager.cmd in the directory Autostartup. The weblogic and the nodemanager are starting very well in a denial of service console.
    2. I tried to start the University Complutense of Madrid with the following startManagedWeblogic of the UCM_Server1 command. Then he asks me a username and password and then, he throws a java exception and the UCM_Server1 will not be started.

The current situation is that the weblogic and nodemanager starts automatically and the UCM_Server1 and IBR_Server1 must be started manually.

What is the usual way to start the AAU automatically? Can we establish some Windows Services?

    Greetings
    Brahim

The best way is probably a Windows Service. Here's the Oracle documentation on how to do it.
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E12840_01/WLS/docs103/server_start/WinService.html

You can also try the Windows Task Scheduler. I heard that this works well (even if a Windows Service would be better).

  • M1132 MFP - WINDOWS SERVER 2008

Hi, I had a LaserJet M1132 MFP printer shared over a LAN network (it is installed on windows server 2008 as the title suggests).

When I print a document, I get two different problems:

-Pages in landscape orientation is printed with normal orientation.

N ' regardless of the number of copies I select in the print options window, the printer will print just one copy.

If I print from the server itself, I get the same results. But if I select as the printer the printer (printer redirected to user TS) TS copy, it does not print correctly. Problem is that I can't share the redirected printers.

    Any advice?

    Thanks in advance.

I think that using another print driver will be a solution for this. The problem is I don't have a version of the OS or printer, that you test things. I can point you in the right place to find the other drivers, but you need to try different until you find one that works. When you find one that works, I would like to know what it is please. Let me know how it turns out.

    1. click on the start menu.
    2 click devices and printers.
    3. right click on your printer.
    4. Select printer properties.
    5. click on the Advanced tab.
    6. click on new driver.
    7. click on next.
    8. Select HP in the first list.
9 select a Laserjet driver in the second. You need to maybe come back and do this step a few different times to find the right driver Laserjet.
    10. click Next.
    11. click on finish.
    12. click on apply.
    13. click OK to close the window.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 rejects all incoming TCP connections

I am unable to connect via http, for example to a brand new installation of 64-bit Windows Server 2008. The server is in a domain, but is not a domain controller (which is another problem altogether).

A specific example, IIS7 is running on the server and the site is accessible locally via http://localhost, but when I try to connect from another machine on the same subnet, the connection is denied, even if the Windows Firewall is disabled in all profiles.

I am able to connect to and browse shared folders on the server by using Windows Explorer, it is not a user account or physical connection problem. I can ping other machines on the network from the server, but trying to ping the server causes another machine "Destination host unreachable".

I have determined that the server refuses simply connections TCP from any other machine. I think, there must be some other configuration setting I'm missing...

In the network and sharing Center, I see that my connection type is 'Internet', which can very well what is the problem, but I have no way to change that.

    Help, please!

  • VM in Vista appears on Windows Server 2008

I'm on my second test using a virtual machine, I converted from a Bootcamp Windows Vista partition, and I noticed in the disks hard affect component molten it is listed under "Windows Server 2008". The virtual machine is born a Bootcamp with Vista Ultimate SP1 partition on it.

Is it OK to leave it this way? What happens if I change the disc of Windows Vista? Is how important it?

    Thank you

    Peter

    Hello

Just change it to Vista, there is no harm to be paid on the good operating system. Most likely there is no harm leaving Windows 2008 either, but it's just more logical to match the OS used.

One of the things that is used must have the correct configuration of VMware-tools for the guest operating system. It is also used for the virtual material used as you can see from this link:

    http://sanbarrow.com/VMX/VMX-guestos.html

In addition, it is sometimes also used to apply workarounds. In all cases, it is preferable to match if there is a corresponding OS to choose from.
