  • Has no installation of Windows Service Pack 2 for Vista 64-bit

I was invited to update itunes on my computer, but when I tried to do kept Windows close Explorer.  When it finally loaded the upgrade she flashed an error message and delete some files needed - which continues to happen at any time that I try to fix the problem.  Now my itunes program does not work.  I did a reading online and decided to try the upgrade to service pack 2 - thought, maybe because I still had the old version, that it didn't work with the new itunes 'things '.  Got an error message indicating that the service pack 2 is no longer available.  Huh?  That now I do--my itunes account is no longer usable, I've probably lost all the songs I paid for (my stupid fault for their backup do not) and I am pretty irritated that I am seriously thinking of just junking my PC and go with a Mac!  I'm not the most computer savy person - I want to start, do things to base prevention/implementation - level and go in my life this computer is only about a year or so old - should not be this frustrating!  You can provide any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Where can I find the Windows Service Pack 3 for xp?

I realize that Xp support was ignored. However, I had to reload my Xp with Service pack 2 on a drive hard new, to try to solve some problems of material and to determine if I have to buy a new computer or simply card video. Anyway, I went to the MS site - says to go to the MS update, I'm going to Ms. mette and he runs, then stops and tells me that there is a problem with the site. When I go on the MS site where there is a host of improvements, I can't find Service PAck 3 - only the for it professionals and developers. Thus have been should I go to get it? Thank you

    "Professional computing and developers."
That's what you are right now.

    Get it, use it.
    It is no different.

Before do you - make sure you have restored all the way back to Internet Explorer 6 * and * all your drivers for hardware devices are the latest version of each of the web pages by the hardware manufacturer (Microsoft did not your hardware - to be of course checked manually for the most recent driver by visiting the Web pages or the manufacturers yourself and find the latest driver for any model device (s) you have - map) motherboard chipset video, audio, network, etc.)

Get SP3 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

    Download Internet Explorer 8.

    Install it.

    Reset.

Now, try to get the updates through the normal web page (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) and see how much more you can get (100 +) and keep checking until you no longer have.

Back - let everyone know if it worked for you.

TIP: Read the Symptoms section of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973688.

Note that KB973688 is NOT a security update.

    (1) do you have an installed application that "uses Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) to process XHTML files" and (2) that "generates a lot of requests when it tries to retrieve well known from the definition of the Type of Document (DTD) from a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web server files" and (3) to "these redundant retrieval requests cause the W3C Server block requests DTD?

If you can't answer YES to all three of these conditions, you do not need to install KB973688 and you can "hide"

    1. stop the automatic updates service:

Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator > services.msc (type) > [OK]
Double-click automatic updates > click stop
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

2 remove the contents of the download folder:

Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator >
    (type or copy/paste) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > [OK]
Open the download folder and delete its content
    Close the window.

3 start | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step). Windows Update: Select the installed updates: right click on the Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB973688) | Click hide update | Confirm the prompt UAC (User Account Control), if any, & OK your way out.

    4. start the automatic updates service:

Start > Right click on run , and then select run as administrator > services.msc (type) > [OK]
Double-click automatic updates > click Start
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

    =====================================
To restore/show updates in Win7: Start | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step) | Windows Update | Restore hidden updates: Find and select the update you want to install. Click restore. You can now select once again it and install through the normal process.

    A problem with Windows Vista
Windows Vista has stopped working properly.

This problem has been corrected in Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1).

    What is a service pack?

An update to software that combines new security and performance with existing updates improvements. Service packs can contain new features or changes to the design of a product.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Determine if your type of operating system 32-bit or 64-bit.

How will I know if my system type is 32-bit or 64-bit?

Click the Start button, right-click computer, and then click Properties.

Under system, you can view the system type.

The average of 32-bit and 64-bit?

Both 32-bit and 64-bit refer manner that your computer (CPU) CPU processes information. The 32-bit versions and 64-bit Windows are designed for use in computers with 32-bit processors or 64-bit, respectively.

    Hi all:

For several weeks, I get a daily reminder to install the update "Windows Vista Service Pack 2 for x 64-based systems (KB948465)", but whenever I try to install it, it ends up by default, which gives 80246007 error code. What happened probably 30 times. It's driving me crazy, and at this point, I would like to know if it is still necessary to have. If this is the case, how can I get to install correctly? If this isn't the case, I can't the notification go away?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
