Woo Hoo!  Had the same problem and stumbled upon the solution.   You MUST open the Panel configuration... then the customization of your monitor.  Once there, select "Window color and appearance."  You then set your color scheme to "Windows Vista Basic"... and waala!  Your sidebar is back to transparent.

To try to resolve a major problem with my computer... working with Dell technical support... my sidebar has been uninstalled or something somehow. I can download gadgets galore... but how to make the actual program of the rear side bar yet?  I really liked and had NO problem with it.  The real problem had nothing to do with the actual sidebar.

  • Windows Sidebar problem

    Hello

hope someone can help with this.  I am running windows Vista Home Premium Edition SP2 and finally had time to fixation of a shift in my wired network connection (which was caused by the sidebar). In the end, I discovered its virtually impossible to uninstall, so downloaded an official fix to avoid that it launch and for security against the dubious gadgets.

Result, I thought that during the restart, sidebar did not open, but now whenever I log in, although the Sidebar won't load, I get this message even with no way to turn it off (except by clicking ok every time) "Windows Sidebar is managed by your system administrator".  Anyone have any idea how to prevent this message from appearing every time that I connect?

Tried different things, like trying to delete the files, but they are protected as my own admin account is clearly not "admin system" means the message.

I am pleased that the Sidebar displays, even though she still seems to slow down my connection network (so why I wanted to install or remove it in the first place), but if I could only keep this message to every newspaper, I live with the slow connection and be a happy man!

Tried NB restore before I downloaded the fix, but restriction "system administrator" has not disappeared.

    Hi Bob,

You "shouldn't" have problems, roll back to IE 7.

If you are worried, you can always do a system restore, which exterminates the any software installed after the date of restoration.

  • Windows Sidebar size may be adjusted or first Loaded low?

I have a mandatory application that takes 1/2 of the box on the right, where the Windows Sidebar.  I like the Gadgets to load first down and load up or be able to adjust the size of the sidebar so I can reduce the height to lreave my other app discovered.

The answer to your question is no. However, if you do a right-click the Sidebar icon in the notification area and choose Properties and uncheck "sidebar is always above other windows" when you app is open the sidebar will be under your application and you can then momentarily display the left sidebar by clicking once on the icon to the sidebar. Clicking anywhere on your app allows you to hide the Sidebar again.  Given that your application takes only 1/2 of the area, you can also drag the gadgets out of the sidebar to open space where your application will not cover them then close the sidebar completely by a right click on it and choose "Close Sidebar" your gadgets will remain on the desktop. To reopen the icon right-click and choose 'open '.

  • Windows Sidebar has stopped working

So a week ago I had a virus, it was picked up by AVG and it has been deleted.  I always spent in SafeMode however, and proceeded to scan of my computer with AVG, Malwarebytes, Microsoft essentials, Spybot - Search and destroy, TDSSKILLER and SUPERAntispyware.  AVG found a Trojan called AGENT.something horse or another.  I deleted it.  Then I restarted my computer and it took a while to load.  Basically it froze for about a minute, and then a message pops up saying "windows Sidebar has stopped working".    I tried to manually, open the Windows Sidebar and my computer freezes for a minute and then the same error message occurs.  Also, I tried to fix it through the command prompt using this method :(http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/117192-windows-sidebar-will-not-start-vista.html.

So my question is how I solve this problem?  I still have a virus, or if he just has been altered by the virus?  Is it possible to reinstall the sidebar or reset it?

It seems that there is a bit of the system of corruption, if she fails to recognize the "sfc/scannow" command try to run this utility http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821 to verify and possibly repair damaged/corrupted packets.

  • Gadgets for Windows Sidebar does not display correctly

    Hello
I just installed a new antivirus-Sophos which automatically uninstalled my previous installation of McAfee that came with my Dell laptop.
Am running Vista SP2 32 bit, Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM, @2 GHz T6400.
After installing antivirus and subsequent reboot, my sidebar is displayed and so do the gadgets, but they are all "corrupt" and not displaying correctly. For example, the clock is dark, and change the opacity does not allow me to see the time. Calendar, notes, and UC only appear as a vertical white line. None of them appears correctly.
    Help, please.

  • Calendar Windows Sidebar gadget is orange and no date

I have a HP IQ506.  When I'm in my screen, the windows sidebar calendar comes with the computer is visible but is orange and not dates.  When on the screen of my husband, his calendar appears as it should.  How can I get my calendar to show up properly?  Help, please.  I'm so frustrated by such a stupid gadget.

If it's just the calendar gadget that gives you trouble, you should be able to simply re - record a single. DLL to rectify a calendar gadget that looks like this,

First remove the calendar gadget existing, and then click Start or press on the key and type cmd but don't hit. Search for CMD in the list above and right-click and select run as administrator. Provide the credentials if necessary.

    The open command window, type.

    Regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll
... and click on . You will receive a popup confirmation as follows,

Restart the computer and add the calendar on the desktop gadget. It should now work as follows,

If the gadget still does not work, you can try a much more aggressive approach to my solution on this page.
