Windows sockets failed initialization

I click on different screens, I often get a message indicating that Windows sockets of initialization failed.  I followed a recommendation on the Internet to remove the casings registration keys, and then reinstall the catch using a utility MS for XP, but always without success.

I had the same problem. After 2 hours of searching through websites and articles out-dated/useless/out of words, I came across something that would be useful.

It tell u what to do, which is to reset your winsock or whatever. hopethis helps

Yes the sticker of the product keys match the diagnostic report. I've been running this product for more than two years and now all of a sudden it is not valid?
I recently had a problem with hard drive with this machine and had to reinstall the system and restore data from a backup. Is it possible that this has some how changed the PID at the origin of this problem?

If I have no choice but to buy a new OS can spend to Win 8 or will I run into a question?

As I said before, "No matter how long he ran 'okay'..." »

Copies MSDN work very well - until Microsoft discovers that they have been used in a way not scheduled (they are sold by unscrupulous people who probably to sell at an attractive price in comparison to other copies - a lot of people don't care about questioning why they might be cheaper.)  Others may sell at the same price and make more money before disappearing).

You have an MSDN copy.  Your PID has not been changed by restoring the backup.  ;-)

You can try changing your product key of Windows 7 than on the sticker:
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/osproductkeys/HT/change-Windows-7-key.htm

Then try to activate by phone:
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/18715-activate-Windows-7-phone.html

And come back to report to what past.

What operating system do you have on the laptop before? You can get a Windows 8 upgrade for that - but I would not honestly - recommend it because the difference is quite obvious and you haven't checked your software and hardware is supported on Windows 8, I know. My recommendation for Windows 8 is to use * if * the system you have came from the manufacturer with it pre-installed. :-)

  • KB2887069 Windows update fails to install, even with the audio drivers and uninstalled AV

KB2887069 Windows update fails to install, even with the audio drivers and uninstalled AV.

Background: I am setting up a pavilion of 500-164 equipped with OEM specs, specifically:

    -AMD/Radeon APU

    -Windows 8 6.2.9200

-See sysinfo below for more details

The PC brought to the specifications of the plant, with all Windows updates applied with the exception of KB2887069, which breaks down at the update.  With the exception of troubleshooting the failure of the update, none of the changes have been made.  The Windows KB2887069 update fails to install as well through the automated process when tried manually via a direct download.

Additional troubleshooting measures to date include:

-Uninstall the software OEM AV (Norton), then by restarting.

-Temporarily disable all the features of Windows Defender.

-Temporarily uninstall the audio driver (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) OEM.

-Realization of an analysis of the SFC system (with no error found).

Results: The Windows Update full KB2887069 with a failed State and produced the following results.

I find it peculiar that you just bought a HP computer brand new, still-in-the-box, which came with Windows 8, not 8.1, preinstalled Windows. That said, cross your fingers, roll up your sleeves and try the fix following multiple step, I cooked up just for your computer...

    ACTIONS

[You may want to print these instructions for reference offline.  IMPORTANT => NO SKIP & perform all steps in one uninterrupted session!  [If a step said to restart, restart! ]

1 right-click on the link, select SAVE TARGET as.... & download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above and select run as administrator to run the Norton utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    4. right-click on the following link and save the download to your desktop: ie8 - rereg.all.zip [1]

4B. right click on the file that you saved in # 4 has & select EXTRACT ALL. This will create a new folder in Office also appointed ie8 - rereg.all. The folder contains both scripts below (plus a third that will NOT be).

    Note-online scripts are good for IE9, IE10 & IE11, too,

    5. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the task bar), open the folder created in step # 4 b above & double-click on the file named ie8 - rereg.32on64.cmd to run the script.

5 b. Repeat this for the file named ie8 - rereg.64on64.cmd then restart.

    6. reset Internet Explorer by the MANUAL of instructions on this page-online http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

Note => for best results, check the option Remove personal settings .

7 run the Windows Update Troubleshooter from start to finish by the first paragraph on this page-online http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates [2]

    8. restart once more then test by launching a manual check of updates & see if KB2887069 any/all others updated and allows to install now. Follow all the instructions.

    9. assuming all went well, see if Windows 8.1 is available through the store Windows and, if so, if it will be properly installed. Still, follow all the instructions.

  • What's new in Win8.1?
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/whats-new
  • 10. assuming that Win8.1 is now installed, perform another manual check for updates & install all Security updates offered (if any); Follow all the instructions.

    11. in response to this post with a status report. Also confirm (hopefully) that Windows 8.1 has been installed successfully.

  • HP 8000 Elite USFF: upgrade Windows 10 fails HP 8000 Elite USFF

Got Windows Update to upgrade and decided to move to 10 Windows on a PC here in the office.  Attempted of the implemented installation of download, but it has failed, then downloaded the multimedia authoring tool and downloaded and burned to DVD a .iso for installation.  Returned to the place in the upgrade, but once again, he failed.  The message is "installing Windows 10 failed".  It is in a small white box.

What are the options here? I tried the BIOS updates after reading that an older BIOS could be the source of the difficulties, but I can't make heads or tails of what exactly is the update of the BIOS it if there is one.  There are 5 downloads under the heading of the BIOS.

I'm willing to do whatever I have to do to get there, but I don't know what I should try next.  I saved before allowing updates W10 and begin the process, so it's not a problem.  I can Flash the BIOS or something else if necessary, just need advice.

    Any help much appreciated

I assume you are running Windows 7 Pro desktop 8000 Elite. If so, the latest version of the BIOS is rev 1.14 and can be recovered from http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=4065880 & swItemId = vc_156854_1 & swEnvOid = 4060

If you download and run the Softpaq BIOS, simply follow the instructions to install and reboot

First you get a Toshiba Recovery CD and not an original Windows OS CD.
In this case, if you want you can retrieve the whole OS. All Toshiba drivers are preinstalled on the image.

    Now to the error:
cfsserv.exe is a process belonging to Toshiba ConfigFree utility and search wireless devices.
However, malware often use the names of valid program to try to hide themselves. So, please run a full scan with Ad-Aware in making sure you have the latest definitions file.

If it doesn t work I recommend the ConfigFree tool for some audit settings.

  • Windows update fails-G62-225DX - bad startup a factory?

My nephew came to me recently with a G62-225DX HP, concerned about safety.  Given this machine is several years old (recently handed down from his father - I quickly understood why), I was surprised to see she was always being basic Windows 7 Home Premium.  Without SP1.

My first attempt to resolve this was to run Windows Update - no luck - immediately fails with "cannot run - services is not started.  Of course, verification services, yes I see WU and BITS running.

So, like any good tech person, I check in the case where the logs and see various errors, including the constant complaints on the Crypto database being corrupted.

Then, up to be Googling for these symptoms/messages.  I see many people with the same problem and a lot of suggestions on how to fix this (re - reg WU, STRANDS of clear/reset, flush/empty C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution, catroot2 flush/empty, etc.).  Even seen one on the Intel hard drive problems due to replace it with a drive of more than 500 GB (this unit still has the original 320).

Spent hours trying all the suggestions there, especially when people said 'Yes, that fixed', nothing helps.

Since it was not something of value on this machine, I decide backup and restore "factory".

Imagine my surprise when, after reset of the image 'factory', it has exactly the same problem - Windows Update fails, out-of-the-box on the right!

I think to myself, it's crazy.  The machine is faulty from the start and everyone was naïve to not get Windows updates, AT ALL!

I even decided to try the Windows Update Checker (supposed to perform before installing SP1) and it fails with ' Windows Update Standalone install encountered and error - 0xc80000247 ".

So, I decided to run through the suggested fixes (from M$, no less) and all of a sudden, that Windows Update works.

I thought, it's fantastic.  He immediately calls to > 130 fixed critical.

After a few hours of download and installed, I restart only to get a BSOD - STOP 6 b - AAARRRGGGHHHH!  Tried to go through Windows restore previous checkpoint but that too fails with a mysterious error.  In addition, many Google hits on the 6 b says that it's a hardware problem.  But he was executed until the Windows update, with nothing in the case where newspapers to indicate hardware problems.

Then, I decided to do a restore from the image of what I started with.  At least it ran, even though she could not be updated.

I no longer dig and see a bunch of updates to the firmware/software for this machine, including the BIOS.  Even saw some strange 'Windows updates' HP.  I thought maybe it was something like the fiasco when the power management update for Intel processors had on machines AMD, thus paralyzing them!  Still nothing - WU still does not work!

Tried again to return to the original image, hoping that maybe to install all updates of office/hardware/driver on a virgin machine solve the problem.  Nope-WU still does not work.  Even went back through all the suggested fixed (saved as .bat files everthing).  Nothing, nada...

So, I'm posting here in hopes that someone has a miracle cure that I missed.

    Hello:

    I don't have a magic bullet...

The same thing happened to me while working on a friends HP 8100 Elite CMT, Windows 7 Pro, HP original image.

Would not install SP1 or Windows updates. I tried every trick in the book and after spending more than two hours, going nowhere, including restore from the recovery discs, I decided to install a plain OS W7 clean add drivers myself using the product key for W7 on the PC.

    It has worked well.

You can do the same thing if you can read the product key of W7 on the bottom of the laptop, and your nephew can't live without programs that was shipped with the PC.

In addition, if you format the drive and just install W7 on current partition, you can probably find the program of the installation files for the programs supplied with the PC in the SWSetup folder.

Here's how to do when you don't have installation of W7 media.

Use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a DVD or a 4 GB flash drive using the USB compilation method.

Use the product key of windows 7 of 25 characters to activate your installation.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below. Download the Windows 7 version that is on your product (Home Premium, professional or ultimate) key to apply.

  • Want 15t_j100 Quad E2E34AV Ed: 10 Windows upgrade failed - blinking display of Envy 15 t-j100 Quad Edition Notebook PC

Upgrade Windows 10 failed on my Envy 15 t-j100 Quad Edition laptop.

Symptom after upgrade has been a video exhibition quickly flashing without control of the PC.

I have to go back to the previous version - Windows 8.1.

Back with success on Windows 8.1

Symptoms point to video card problem after updated Windows at level 10.

My laptop has two, provided by HP online:

    Intel HD 4600 Grapics (internal)

    NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M

See the research, that Intel and NVIDIA have Windows 10 drivers for these graphics cards.

Yet immediately when Windows 10 signing after upgrade, the laptop display has been viewed quickly.

The only way I could get control of the laptop was CTL-ALT-DELETE to start the Task Manager.

The Task Manager showed that more CPU resources would "host setting synchronization process.

Called Microsoft Support - they indicate a likely problem with display adapter driver and advised to "go back" and then contact HP support.   called HP Support and they advised to work with Microsoft.  Great!

Would appreciate recommendations on the way forward for Windows 10.

Initially I found the 10.18.13.5324 Rev.A-NVIDIA graphics driver.

I was allowing the HP site automatically detect my curent - Windows OS 8.1.

When I manually switched OS Windows 10, I see it listed.

I also see 10.18.15.4248 that place listed for the Intel HD 4600 graphics card.

Can I install both of these drivers before you upgrade Windows 10?

Both are supported on Windows 8.1?

If so, why HP Support Assistant would not have install me the upgrade?

    Am I missing something here?

Install only the softpaq grahips from Nvidia. It will allow to install the two drivers.

When I click on the button 'Download' blue, it offers two choices:

Use HP download and install the Wizard (recommended)

    Download only

This is the second option that you recommend when you say to use "usb flash drive support? Yes. Create an installer of Flash 10 Windows usb player. This is the second choice option.

    Thanks again for your help!

To resolve this problem, remove the download directory and then to return to the update sites. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Stop the automatic updates service. To do this, follow these steps:

      1. Click Start and run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
      2. Right-click the automatic updates service and then click on stop.
      3. Minimize the Services snap-in.

    3. Start the automatic updates service. To do this, follow these steps:
      1. Expand the Services snap-in.
      2. Right-click the automatic updates service and then click Start.
