Windows that open, kind of slow, stop, real slow (2-1/2 minutes) and using a lot of memory-taskmanager

NOTE: I'm sorry! I got this message under win 7 instead of Vista!-complaint of the hand, off 2-1/2 minutes?

Thanks for all the answers! They were still in force.

original title: scanning for dell studio 1737 and recommended bios update

Hello, generally, I read until I have my answer, but I can't so I think I give it a try. Somehow I screwed things up with my computer. My main complaint is that I have something running that takes a lot of memory according to the Task Manager. My fan runs often, 1-1/2 minute stop time, pop up messages telling me to stop then reload IE9 sp2. I found some stuff on my event viewer, but I can't seem to cross the first error which is something on my bios. I go to the dell website to try to update with a flash of the bios but note comes up saying that my computer does not accept the flash. I have other issues in both event viewer, but can't remember them that I can't get beyond the the bios issue. The computer is a Dell Studio 1737 plenty of core duo memory 4 MB with plenty of space on hard drive and it seems to do well but all the * running in the background makes it run hot so the fan. All I want to do is get a scan for my installed bios system and install an updated version. I am not able to do at Dell. Maybe they want me to pay to support or something. I did all the FixIt of ms, I ran three different registry cleaners, I ran three viruses different scans, nothing. I've loaded my vista dell disk and tried to recover or repair and cannot do it either. I notice weird things with ie. I've done several downloads for versions 32 and 64 bit, to do the right thing. Maybe he has an it is to say the conflict or something. Whatever it is, I'm sure it's related to the fact that my computer takes 1-1/2 minutes to stop, even if it starts normally. I played with it for about a month now and I'm traps at all reading. If I can Flash my bios and get this update, maybe, I'll be able to get then some of the other things go. Here are some tips from the event viewer if anyone has any time for her. $ 1 million for any help thanks! If anyone knows where I can find a site that can digitize to my existing configuration and then recommend the installed updates. Oh, just in case anyone is wondering why I do not pay just for a few servieces for help me, or take it to a computer store, I don't have a job and can not afford it. Believe me. I have many errors saying: the embedded controller (EC) has failed in the specified time-out period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware or BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly. You should check with the manufacturer of your computer for an updated BIOS. In some cases, this error may cause the computer to function properly. And The Office Source Engine service entered the stopped state. Service WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto - Discovery Service entered the running state. The Google Software Updater service entered the running state. The Google software update service entered the stopped state. A total of 60 errors in a single day, for weeks. Thanks again!

Ok..

The first task manager...

Open it and then click the CPU tab until the processes that use most of time processor are grouped at the top of the list.

The system idle process should be at the top and then maybe three points below that seem to take the time to processort.

Make a note of them and then look on the Internet that each fact or the program, application or process to which they are linked.

Forget the event viewer and any reference to it in the BIOS...

All the * running in the background will not cause it's running more hot so the fan. BUT, you can have installed something knowingly or perhaps inadvertently causing the CPU work all the time. Reference to what I said about the Task Manager. This is where you will find the cause most likely.

BIOS... How to download and install... taken directly from the Dell support site. No payment at ALL is required. BUT, you probably don't need to do and if you do, it should choose to do so, it should be performed using socket at a time when it will present no risk of a power failure...

Download

1. click on download now to download the file.
2. when the file download window appears, click Save (Windows XP
users will click Save) this program to disk and click OK. Save it in:
window will appear.
3. If you want to save in: field, click the arrow to the bottom, and then click on for
Select desktop, and then click Save. Download the file to your desktop.
4. If the download complete window appears, click Close. The file

Install

1 double click on the new icon on the desktop, titled R302080. EXE.
2. the self-extracting window appears and prompts to extract or
Unpack in C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R302080. Write down this path so the executable (I.e.
You can later find Setup.exe file).
3. the self-extractor file window appears.
4. click on OK.
5. After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor
window is still open, close it.

Fact MS Fix - its for what exactly?

Use of registry cleaners will create more problems than they ever solve. You may well have created one of the issues by running a registry cleaner. Uninstall them as best as POSSIBLE...

Three viruses different scans? Without doubt completely uninstalled before the installation and execution of another? In addition, what av scanners?

Many downloads of 32 and 64 bits, what?

Your computer may take a long time to stop if an open e-mail program is defined on control too frequently, or if a backup utility is configured to check the differences between system and backup is too frequent. In addition, some gadgets can slow down to stop, and USB keys will cause Windows to ensure that there is no process to read/write that run to them before she stops them.

Flashing the BIOS is not and has never been the panacea for all the ills of the computer and won't solve ANYTHING in your case.

If you have upgraded from Vista...

Go to the Dell support site and downlaod driver and install any Windows 7 drivers for your machine other than BIOS. If you enter your number of service on this site...

http://support.Dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=CA&CS=cadhs1&l=en&s=DHS

you will be presented only with the specific drivers for your machine.

This should eliminate the errors of the EC.

    Hi Snyder22,

I understand how frustrating it can be to see ongoing ads on your computer. I have an article for you with information about the stop of this behavior:

Stop the cAds in Safari - Apple Support

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT203987

The behavior you describe can be better attributed to adware, referred to in this section of the article mentioned above:

If you could have the adware installed on your Mac.

If the pop-ups still on your Mac, you might inadvertently downloaded and installed adware (advertising-taking software supported). Some software that you download from some third-party download sites can include the software you want and the adware.

If you think you have Adware on your Mac, update to the latest version of OS X El Capitan. If your Mac already has the latest version of El Capitan, restart it. El Capitan removes adware only when connecting. If you still see the advertising on your Mac, Contact Apple.

Be vigilant and thank you for visiting the communities of Apple Support.

Got a big window that opens indicating 28 (?) virus/infections found and I need to reconfigure / sign up for XP Home Security and allow him to get rid of these infections. Never recorded this before scan. It doesn't let me go anywhere to check anything, can not access the internet, continues to say that you are infected, danger danger, for example. Turned it all off, the computer restarts. Can't do anything with it... Guess I need to take it to someone who can remove the pop up? I have nothing works, it will open a homepage for a second then throw it and packaged pop in front of everyone. Try adware and spybot and windows defender. • Windows that open in a reduced size.

Everytime I open a window, always happens in a reduced size.  Can I change something so that this does not happen?

    Hi David,

    ·         You want to open the windows in a larger size?

    ·         This happens with any particular or all windows?

    ·         If it works well before?

Check to see if the following is useful.

    a. identify the program or folder that you want to run in a fully maximized window.

    b. right click on the program or folder, and then click "Properties".

    c. click on the tab "shortcut".

    d. Locate the area of the drop-down list next to "Run."

    e. choose among the following options:

    ·         Normal window - opens the program's folder / like a small window that is not maximized, but isn't visible.

    ·         Reduced: opens the folder of the program/as minimized in the taskbar.

    ·         Maximized: opens the folder of the program/fully optimized to fit your screen.

Do not respond with more information if this isn't what you're looking for.

  • Open a URL; constraint window that opens

Here's my challenge: I want to make a link to another project and this project has been opened in a new window. Is it possible within 3 Captivate that allows me to limit these features in the new window that will open?

Non-Captivate case, when I want to limit this way, I can integrate these features in the using Dreamweaver launch button when creating my launch button in the launch html. I don't see a similar occasion when setting the properties of the button in Captivate. Any ideas?

By chance your Captivate button context is set to 'New' (via the small arrow button to the right of the Javascript field)? This would explain what you see.

The context for the button containing the call to openNewWin() must be set to "Current", because the Javascript code must run in the active window, where standard.js is responsible.

Otherwise, it works fine when I copy and paste the code above in a freshly published standard.js.

  • How to stop windows that open up behind the taskbar and sidebar

I was wondering if there was a way to stop windows from behind the taskbar and sidebar of Vista SP2, I currently have my taskbar on the right side on the same width as my sidebar, located on the left side of the screen. Both have been set to keep above other windows. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Even if it meant having the image of the shrunken desktop so it fit perfectly into the space remaining.

Also, is it possible to have a mobile wallpaper?

Oddities of the operating system, I think. Having the bar spots on the side at least gives you a chance to save a program window. I run the taskbar double wide at the top, and some programs insist on opening umderneath it. I have to resize the task bar if I want to be able to move the window anywhare. Also happens in Win 7...

  • How can I stop the Firefox 2 tabs open in each window that opens?

I have spent hours reading all the proposed solutions to this problem and have tried everything that I can to solve this problem, but nothing works. I don't understand the "user.js" references, but I made all the changes to tools and even went to about: config and change some features it on the tabs and the recommended such home page, but the problem persists. I just updated Firefox, too, and it seems that they have not yet solved this problem that is so irritating to all.

the new tab page will display thumbnails of 3 x 3 of your most visited sites by default - if you want to show him your good home page, you can set that too:

enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named browser.newtab.url. Double-click it and change its value to Subject: House (or any custom pages that you want to set).

  • Takes half an hour or more for the new window to open it, toolbar functions stop working and sometimes I have to 'force quite' to exit.

A couple of months, I forgot that I had left my computer on when I'm gone for browsing the web. When I came back a few hours later it pop ups promote pornographic sites on the screen. Firefox has been locked and I had to "leave power." Since then, I have problems to a new window. If I repeated attempts, several windows open at the same time a little later. Buttons on toolbar menu and toolbar buttons module runs at the beginning but often stop working after half an hour or two. When this happens, I generally have to 'force quite' to escape from Firefox. I tried to remove Firefox from my computer and download a new version, but the problem continues. No other program seems affected. I integro Virus Barrier X 5 and I use a trial version of X 6 but I have found no sign of any other malicious software. Suggestions?

July 25, 2010, when I try to access my accounts to mutual funds to Dodge and Cox, they reject my user ID. If I do this using Internet Explorer, it works fine. The D & C, person that I talked to said I should check Firefox so that it has 128-bit security. How can I do this?
