  • Windows 7 Build 7600, Windows Update failed: Error Code 80096004

Whenever I try to update my Windows 7 Home Edition Build 7600 through Windows Update, I get most of my updates reported as failures, and you try to update results once again updates failed fault and fault again, as in they are always fail. This computer is only a few weeks and I was never able to update windows properly and I always "error (s) found: Code 80096004.»

I'm under Alienware BIOS A09 if this is any help, and windows is genuine through the OEM. I got non-genuine errors in previous windows that were due to windows update failures, and yesterday I restored my computer to factory default which has removed all errors except windows update errors. So, to get these updates correctly will mitigate hope-other problems I have.

I used to receive the codes of error such as 80096003 and another who was something similar (do not remember exactly the code) to 8001b 010. Cutting windows firewall has removed these errors happen in windows update, or so I think.

Anyway, the real culprit right now, I believe is the "error (s) found: Code 80096004.» How can I fix this error in my Windows Update so that I can continue to update? Whenever Windows Update tries to download updates, the process of "Download" will always result in a constant 0% and never pass and will always fail. I have about 30 updates, I need to download/update and catch him. Most are updated critical or very important.

    Thanks in advance.

I can not even find error code 80070539!

I searched this site, etc.  I rebooted, etc..  Now, what... hmmmm?

Question: You receive error message: 80070539 when you try to install windows update.

Resolution: Find Google Desktop and uninstall.
    Restart the computer.

  • Windows Update 80246008 error code

I've been trying to do windows update on my windows 7 64 bit but it fails and gives me an error code 80246008 then told me to look in the services for the background intelligent transfer service but the problem is there is no background intelligent transfer service in there I NEED HELP!

    Hi Cy0,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. When was the last time you were able to install the updates on the computer?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

First of all, I'd say you scan the computer to remove any virus or malware infections and subsequently check if you can install updates or smart background (BITS) service is available on the computer.

    Disable the anti-virus software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

    Method 2

If the above step fails thenI suggest that reset you the default windows update components and check if it works.

How to reset the Windows Update components?

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

    Method 3

If the above step failsthenI suggests Mr scanner SFC on the computer that would scan for corrupt system files on the computer and replace them.

The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows Vista installation CD.

  • Windows Update 652 error code

    OP: error code 652

I tried to update my windows vista several times now, I get an error code 652 and it seems that I can't fix it, help?

    Hi arildo65,

What are the updates, you are having issues with that?

    Step 1:

Try to download and install the stand-alone package with updates from Microsoft Download center and check if you encounter the error.

Put the update number in the link below to find:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

    Step 2:

You can also put the computer in a clean boot state, and then try to install the updates.

    a. put your system in start mode state minimum helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

    b. refer to the KB Microsoft article below for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After a repair, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

    Step 3:

If the problem persists, you can try to reset windows update, and then check again.

Note: Run the fix it first. If this fails to run, then use the manual steps.
