Windows Update-9/2016

I have Windows 7, SP1, 18 Windows updates failed in the update from Microsoft.  By checking the first error codes being 80246007 is for Windows 8, not my version of Windows as described above.  How do you know which version of MS Windows updates are for if they are not scored?

I tried for 2 days to get information on how to make this work.  I am a novice in the resolution of technical problems.

I tried "Troubleshooting" the issue of the update no. available, as well as tactics that have been futile as well.

Why is this happening?  Microsoft has updated a very difficult task. And why am I sent updates to another version of Windows?  I need help for my Windows Update.

Thank you.

Hi Sandra,.

The Windows Update error code: 0 x 80246008 is not only for Windows 8, but also for Windows 7 and 8.1. Can you please give us the troubleshooting steps you have tried?

We recommend that you check the post from Cole Andrew Luza on this link.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

    Hi emiquestion:

Long 'check for updates...' crashes and slow window updates are a currently a problem common to many users of Vista SP2 - please see the workaround suggested, I posted yesterday over BluesBlaster WINDOWS VISTA 32-BIT updates.

Note that it is a temporary workaround and updates slow Windows will probably return each Patch Tuesday (the second Tuesday of the month) after Microsoft also releases a new batch of updates to security for Vista SP2 and IE9.  Since September 2016 Patch Tuesday updates are published tomorrow (13-Sep-2016), it would be wise to wait a day or two to execute step-by-step instructions posted on June 16, 2016, in m #l's thread of updates does not, he has been looking for updates for hours and save yourself a bit of extra work this month.  Dalai normally updates its list of Windows kernel mode driver (Win32K.sys) implemented to date required the same evening that the Patch Tuesday, updates are published by Microsoftto the http://wu.krelay.de/en/ .

I am running Windows 7 and I am trying to download all updates from January 12, 2016.  The download does not start, sitting at 0% for more than half an hour. No error code is displayed. A laptop computer that I also use properly updated this morning. There is no problem with my internet connection.

Windows Update displays: 23 updates, (Total of 0 KB, 0% complete).

I restarted the computer (the button turn off had a yellow shield, indicating the necessary to install updates, closing took a lot of time to finish), when the finished computer restart I ran an app such FixIt recommended by using Microsoft Windows Update. Now, Windows Update is hung on the status of "check for Updates". Cancelled that and found another utility here:

    Hello

According to the description of the problem, there are three files locked on the F drive which you could not access. According to you, this happen after installing the update published on July 21, 2016. Normally, this issue is not caused by a Windows Update, however, if in your case, it happens to please provide us with the number of the update so that we can find the root cause.

There might be a chance of virus corruption, then, I suggest you run a full scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner (MSS) to ensure that the computer is virus-free.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner free is a downloadable security tool that allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. It works with your current antivirus software.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • Get his problem after installing windows update on May 18, 2016

    Original title: updated 18/06/2016

Has anyone else been having sound problems with the new batch of updates? I tried to download the drivers, but that didn't work and now I had to restore my system from the 18th daily. Any ideas on how to identify the update is the cause or what driver I may have missed? My computer is a Dell Latitude E5420, running 64-bit Windows 7 Prof. Any other information needed let me know. Thank you!

    Hello

According to the description, I understand that you are facing the problem in your computer after Windows installation updated May 18, 2016.

Yes, you can view the installed update so that you can identify the updates that are installed in May 18, 2016.

Please follow the steps to see updates history in Windows 7:

    1. Click the Start button.

    2. Then select Control Panel > programs.

    3. And then, under programs and features.

    4. Select view installed updates.

View update installed please check that the update installed in May 18, 2016 and uninstall the update one & check if the sound is working well and find the culprit, update.

Please follow the methods described below to check if it helps:

Method 1: perform a Clean boot and install Windows Update.

If its a major update, I recommend you put the computer in a clean boot state and install it again in order to minimize interference that could cause this noise problem.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

Method 2: uninstall and reinstall the Sound Driver.

    1. Press Windows + X key.
    2. Type devmgmt.msc (to open Device Manager)
    3. Find and select the audio driver.
    4. Right click on the driver.
    5. Uninstall the audio driver.

Windows automatically installs the generic driver, otherwise I recommend you download & install audio driver on the website of the manufacturer to check if it helps.

Hope this information is useful, if the problem persists please write us back with the quick information so that we can help you further.

    Hi Bonnie,.

Thank you for being part of the Microsoft Community.

Error code 0 x 80070057 means that the parameter is incorrect. I would ask that you can run the system update readiness tool and then check if it helps.

The system update tool checks the integrity of the following resources:

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
