The image (it back up to an external drive as full image) and reinstall Windows XP, update, drivers and everything.  Install any plugins that you NEED to do all that you see here that the bat hurt.  If the problem no longer exists, something has gone wrong with your system from before (corrupt files or your cleaning is not as complete as you think) and if the problem persists - probably something to do with the material. In all cases, you can return to the image if you wish.

To the extent wherever it is the registry, I must ask, * how * you have come to this conclusion?  Not that I'm defending something - I was wondering what you did to decide who is not your registry database?  (Side: I agree with you.)

That's what * I * would call cleaning and optimization of a Windows XP machine:

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in. Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.) You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory. This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).

  • I can not load down the windows store and does not refresh

Windows said it fixed the problem but it still won't be updated also I can not down load Windows store, HELP I have no nothing to computing

    Original title: windows update doesn't

This problem can occur for several reasons such as interruption of the connection between the computer and the Windows Update service, the system files related to Windows Update do not work properly etc. This problem can also occur if the manifest of components (CBS)-based services is corrupted.

    Follow these methods:

    Method 1.

I suggest you to temporarily disable any third-party antivirus installed on the computer and check the status of update installation.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2.

Start the computer in a clean boot state, and check the status of update. A clean boot to test if any element of service or third party application startup is causing this issue.

Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow the steps under "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" in the article to start on normal startup.

    Method 3.

You can reset Windows Update components, restart the computer and check the status of update installation.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

    Method 4.

Rename the Software Distribution folder and verify the installation state of update.

    Follow the steps.

    (a) press "Windows + X" and click/click on "command prompt (Admin).

    (b) open the command prompt window, type these commands one by one, and press ENTER after each command.

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop cryptSvc

    net stop bits

    net stop msiserver

    Ren SoftwareDistribution.old C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution

    Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old

    net start wuauserv

    net start cryptSvc

    net start bits

    net start msiserver

    (d) wait for the course to complete.

    (e) close the command prompt, and then restart the computer.

Now, go to Windows Update and try to install the updates. Check if it helps.

I currently have three computers. A 2010 iMac, a Macbook Pro 2012 and a new Macbook pro 2014. I disconnected and uninstalled creative cloud of the iMac. After buying the new MacBook Pro (2014), I used the mobile 2012 to copy my user profile on the laptop latest (including Adobe applications and cloud creative). When I go to this link, I get a prompt to download creative cloud (No Manager applications). Of course, I redownload creative cloud and gives me the steps to install but once the creative cloud installation progress bar ends and CC open, the window is empty and I wonder not identify or anything. I can't access all projects or connect to my computer CC on this new account be.

I deleted the file opm.db in the folder "OOBE" and I restarted the application. I uninstalled and reinstalled. I restarted my computer. I have tried everything for the last hours and made absolutely no progress.

I'm pretty stressed about it than the projects I work on are time sensitive. Any help would be greatly appreciated as chat customer support just left me on hold for almost an hour and I have not found a solution in the forums.

Often, a certain instability in Windows Explorer is due to the defective shell extensions and addons.
Consider using Sysinternals Autoruns or ShellExView. Disable Add-ons and non Microsoft shell extensions and verify the behavior.  If he went, reactivate the disabled extensions/add-ons, one at a time and see if you can identify who may be liable.
Try a clean boot, or boot into safe mode.  The behavior persists?
  • Download windows 7 OS from a flash drive, I have a new Tablet comes with windows 8 and does not have a CD/DVD player?

I feel then very hard to adjust windows 8 to work properly I don't want.

You will first need to go to the website of manufacturers for your model computer and first find out if there are native drivers in Windows 7. A large number of computers that are preloaded with Windows 8 have no native driver support for Windows 7 by the manufacturer. If there is no native driver, you will need to consider returning the machine and buying a machine preloaded with Windows 8 Pro with downgrade rights to Windows 7 Professional. Or look through the catalogue of manufacturers for systems already preloaded with Windows 7, usually the business sector will have these options.

update of sql server 2005 service pack 3 error code 6D9E Windows update security does not accept the update

    Hey lasdj,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

If you receive Windows Update error 6d9e while installing SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 by using Windows Update, it means that the installation folders and directories are compressed or encrypted.

To fix this problem, make sure the folder locations where you are installing the service pack to aren't compressed or encrypted, or specify a different folder and then run Windows Update again.

Therefore, remove the compression of the DATA directory and run together to the top again.

Remove compression from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder and see if you are able to install the updates without any problem.

See the links below for more details:

The 'alert' is not from Vista. Your computer is infected by a rogue security program. It's called "thugs" because he pretended to be a good guy but is really bad. Don't pay them!

These can work for you, and all can be good. However, in many cases the computer will also infected with other horses of Trojan and protected by a rootkit. These machines are extremely difficult to clean. If your machine is one of these cases, either the interactive assistance to one of the specialty forums listed in the link below, OR take your machine to a professional on the local computer OR backup your data and do a clean install of Windows.
