  • Windows Update code, error 8007007E

I get a warning on my computer tells me that Windows cannot check the updates automatically. So I run windows update and it says that an error has occurred during the new updates for my computer. Then he said: code 8007007E windows has encountered an unknown error and.  Apparently because I bought my computer in February it has never been updated. I know this is a problem and I don't want my computer at risk. Help, please. I tried the troubleshooting, and it gives no help. I'm going crazy trying to figure it out.  I only am not computer savvy enough to keep the simple answers please :)

Right-click on my computer and select properties: Windows version which is displayed on the general tab that results (for example, Windows Vista Ultimate Service Pack 2;) Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

    Hello

What is the code exact error you get?

Temporarily disable all security software and check if it helps.

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus
software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet
or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Also check the updates failed and see if there are error messages in Windows Update.

    1. open Windows Update.
    2. click view update history.

You can also try to download and install the updates manually.

Make sure that the following services are started:

    ·    Background Intelligent Transfer Service
    ·    Cryptographic services
    ·     Windows Update

    Follow these steps:

    1. go to start and type services.msc and press to enter.
    2. from the list of services, search for the above mentioned services and see if they are started and set to automatic.
    3. If they are arrested, then right-click on the service and select start to start the service.

Follow-up to the technical support engineer said. Tried twice to receive code. I see I'm not the only one.  KB953297

    Hi ptgal04,

Please describe the steps precisely like what you made so that we have a clearer idea about the whole scenario.

The error you described is a common problem with the updates of the .NET Framework.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem.

Method 1: Manually remove and reinstall .NET Framework.

To remove and reinstall .NET Framework manually, follow these steps:

    1. remove the .NET Framework.

    1. click on Startand then click Control Panel.

    2. double-click on Add or remove programs.

    3. write down each version of the .NET Framework is already installed on the computer. Then, uninstall all versions of the .NET Framework.

    4. When you are prompted, restart the computer.

    2. use the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to clean up the State of MSI database for all versions of the .NET Framework.

    a. download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center: collapse this includes this image

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility package now. (http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe)

    b. install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility as an administrator or a user account that is a member of the local Administrators group.

    c. click Start, point to all programsand then click Windows Installer Cleanup.

    d. in the Windows Installer CleanUp utility, remove all Windows Installer for the .NET Framework applications.

    3. restart the computer.

    4. download and reinstall all the versions of the .NET Framework that were previously installed on the computer.

    5. When you are prompted, restart the computer.

Note When you have reinstalled all the versions of the .NET Framework, you can use Windows Update to check for the updates of the .NET Framework.

Method 2: Use the .NET Framework automatic cleanup tool

This tool is not designed as a substitute for the standard uninstall procedure. You should try to perform an uninstall by following the steps in method 1, earlier in this article, before using this cleanup tool.

The .NET Framework cleanup tool removes the .NET Framework for you. For more information about how to obtain and use this tool, visit the following MSDN Web site:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2006/05/30/611355.aspx (http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2006/05/30/611355.aspx)

For more details on the above error code, see

When you try to install an update for .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5, you may receive Windows Update '0 x 643' error code or error code Windows install "1603".

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/923100

    It should work.

  • Error 0x80072F76 Windows Update code.

    Help please,

I can't do the manual Windows updates - don't know if those auto works or not - on error code prevents downloads.

I did Google and apparently it is a good registry error but can't find a direct answer or error on the Fix code he Windows site (I can't be looking correctly)? Load the Windows software could fix patches - but it did not work.

You can pay for the software that says he'll settle for about £20.00 or £30.00 books (free scan then pay you) from various sites, but if you pay and it does not work then it is waste of money.

I'd rather do not re load the operating system, as it's too much hassle to get anything about how he runs have my computer set up.

Tried to do a restore from a time back when I thought that the updates were working, but no joy.

If someone could tell me is there a way simple and safe mounting.
