  Free avast works fine on Windows 7 but it can't on non - RTM builds more (I don't know this). I used it without a problem during the beta until the RTM version. Try to uninstall/reinstall Avast. If this does not resolve the problem, maybe you just install a different free antivirus until you make your own to the RTM installation.
