Recovery disk works does not after replacing hard drive Pavilion dv7
Hello. I have problems of replacement of a failed hard drive in my HP Pavilion dv7-6154nr notebook running Windows 7. New HARD drive seems to install OK, but I get a Windows Boot Manager error when I try to run the recovery disks created when the system was purchased. The message says "the boot selection failed because a required device is not accessible" "status: Oxc000000f. I changed the boot order in the BIOS to boot from the internal DVD player but continue to make the same mistake
More info: I upgraded the HARD drive from a Toshiba MK6476GSX - 640 GB - 5400 RPM for a WD Black 7500BPKTSP. I don't see any info in the new HARD drive in system information / BIOS so I don't know if it is recognized. However, it take and pass a diagnostic test.
Thank you.
You are the very welcome.

If you have a problem to find drivers (such as the wireless, unless you already knew what the wireless adapter model you have in the PC, you will not know which driver to install).
Just after the hardware ID's for all you can't find the drivers. Who need device drivers appears in the Manager for devices with a little yellow. brand and labelled with material generic terms such as a network Contoller or PCI device, etc.
If you don't know how to find the hardware ID, please read the info on the link below.

Managing disks in Windows 7 does not recognize external hard drive
It is a recent event. I backed up my computer only 45 days ago and it worked Ok. The same external drive has no problems with your Windows XP desktop.
No other USB devices is facing this problem.
Device Manager identifies the mass storage device (WD1140), as well as the USB controller.
This utility cannot sort.
It is not possible to change/assignment of a new letter to the reader as disk management does not identify her. I also tried to use the command-line (list disk)... the only disc that displayed is internal.I tried to change the USB port, without result.
The operating system is Windows 7 Starter.Hello Cristian,
I appreciate the efforts to solve the problem. We would like to know the following information form you for help to come.
(1) what store did you run to fix the problem?
(2) you have any software from third-party security installed on your computer?

You could address this issue due to a hardware conflict or if the external hard drive that you are trying to connect has virus. Prior to the resolution problems make sure that you have installed all Windows updates. Follow the steps below to solve the problem.

(b) expand Bus USB controllers. Right click on a device, and then click Uninstall. Repeat for each device.
(c) when completed, restart your computer. Your USB controllers will automatically install.

I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Important: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

Windows XP does not start, no hard drive error
I have windows XP installed on my hard drive of 160 GB WD Scorpio Blue PATA on a DELL Latitude D600. One day, I wake up and my laptop does not start. My computer starts up, leaves POST, but the hard drive does not start. He's right there. I try pressing the buttons but it starts a sound signal, so I have to turn it off. Normally, if there is no device that my computer can boot from it displays something along the lines, "no main boot device found. Press F1 to retry boot or F2 to enter the configuration utility. "but the screen does not show anything.I ran chkdisk and a number of other diagnostic tools on the hard drive, but nothing helped. I have Ubuntu on a USB key and with him, I can access the files on the hard drive - all files are intact, and I can read/write without problems. It just does not start. How would I go about fixing this? Any help is appreciated. It is the third hard drive that has failed inside my D600 (my second WD). I've had enough of this!Try to use the last good known Configuration:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/307852
and see if that clears things up to the top.
Hope this helps

Something happened when Windows Update downloaded a file of security on my Windows XP. I had to wipe and reload Windows XP SP2 and MS Office programs because of corruption. I had never problems with the Windows Update server to date. I tried the 'clean boot' instructions and followed the instructions forum MS for other alternatives, but I continue to receive two issues of the Server Windows Update error:
Error number: 0x8024400A error number: 0 x 80240036
In addition, "Mr. FixIt" could not be installed because it is dependent on the SP3. I don't know what else to try. Please notify. Thank you.
I think the first thing you could try would be to get your computer up to date if you can. You can download SP3 here.

Windows 7 does not recognize my hard drive
I took my Toshiba drive of my previous PC running Windows Vista, put it into a Dynamode pregnant and now Windows 7 wont recognize - constantly asking me to re - format the drive.
Some utilities recognize and some say corrupted file or you save to disk
Hi Richard,
You connect it as an additional drive or the drive?
Try to modify the boot menu in the BIOS to get it detected. Check the manual for how BIOS works in the computer. See the methods to solve the problem of detection of material:
Method 1: Run the fixit:
Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows
http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/
Method 2: Check the status of the device in disk management.
Disk Manager is a utility that manages the system disks and the volumes or partitions contained. With disk management. You can extend the disk, reducing the drive, create other partitions, delete partitions, change the drive letter, among other things, all in one tool, and better, by using the system tool.
Open Windows 7 or Windows Vista Start menu.
In the Find box type diskmgmt.msc, type command then the file will appear in the box, simply click on the file to open the tool.

Does not detect my HARD drive in the BIOS
Yesterday, I bought DT01ACA300 of HARD drive and it does not detect.
I've tried it on two motherboards (different ports and different controllers: AMD, Intel chipset JMicron chipset) with different powers and signal cables (which do not work with my player Samsung HDD and DVD SATA Lite-on), but it won't do no good...It seems that the only thing that might have caused it may be the power supply, but I can't check it out because I don't have a spare. I tried to disable most of the unnecessary controllers on MB to lower energy consumption, but it did not help.
From what I've read on the Internet, it seems that it is not I can do by myself and it is very likely defective drive, but I still have some hope that I can make it work...
It would be a big problem to return to calm: I'll have to send in another city in the authorized service center so that they would check it, and then only, I can get a replacement (if noone will fly it by then, which can happen...).
Which machine do you have?

Recovery disk failure after replacing hard drive of a laptop computer DV7 series
I have a HP Pavilion dv7-4270us with Windows 7 64 bit and recently received a message on start-up indicating that the intelligent of my hard drive failed. I bought a hybrid Momentus XT drive. I bought the recovery discs, since I neglected to follow my own advice and did not have a game. Replaced the hard drive, and begun the process of recovery, after the disc of the Application, the system was declared finished, clicks the button, the system shuts down. Activated power, recovery took over for a few minutes, declaring that he was copying files, a few minutes later, he said it was over asking me to click done. After that I did it, the system has rebooted hung on the screen of the HP logo with the statement in the lower left corner indicating "press ESC for the Start Menu. My only recourse was to power down the machine. When I restart the computer, I get the message 'Bootmgr' missing
I have already paid through the forums and tried to download the Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit DVD of digital life. As it starts installing, it indicates that a driver is missing, I poured by drivers for this computer and see nothing for SATA, and none of the others would be required to start. I succeeded in my Windows 7 Professional on the loading system, but since I don't have an extra code to hang out professional, it's not helping right now.
I also tried to partition the new disk manually using a device that allows me to see the drive using a USB port and my office, but he's not right. The good news is that the old drive still works to a point. I can read it via USB, and I can back up the drive, with the exception of the recovery partition. But when I put the new disk and set up similar scores for the original drive, it still does not start.
I have tried many other things all pronounce the failure, I'm not used to failure when it comes to computers, so be gentle.
Hello:
The missing pilot is due either to a bad burn or use another brand of DVD. You must burn the ISO at the slowest speed possible file that you can.
In addition, check the size of the ISO file that you downloaded. Sometimes you do not get the full 3. XX GB even if the download says completed.
If you have 4 GB or more large USB flash drive, you can install W7 as it.
Just follow these instructions...
Download the MS of W7 USB installation tool and read the instructions on the page to use.
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/p bPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
You may also make this mod as I did if the flash tool-error.
Download the bootsect file form http://www.everettsporting.com/bootsect.zip
You will need to go into Control Panel, select display large icons, go to the icon of folder options, view tab, and select the hidden files and folders option.
Once downloaded, copy the BootSect.exe file in the same folder that contains the file of Windows7-USB-DVD-Download - Tool.exe installed. This file in Windows 7's default installation directory is C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Apps\Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool\
Run the application from the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool as described on the Microsoft Store website. The end result will give you a boot USB flash drive that contains everything you need to install the 64 bit version of Windows 7.Paul

Windows Update does not work after the hard drive has been replaced
Hello
I have the same problem, replaced in my Toshiba HD, rebuild from Sysimage, Windows Update does not work. A ran "fix the problem with the Microsoft Windows Update is not working.
Problem still exist.
The message that I got while trying to update: "Windows Update cannot currently check updates,
because the service is not running. "You may need to restart you computer.
Stop and then restart the service, still no luck.I ran Windows troubleshooting. He finds two problems with Windows Update components, it corrects.
The problem still exists. The other post:
Another interesting fact:
After the reconstruction the new disk, user account control does not recognize Windows programs.
for example: execution of Perfmon.exe, the Publisher is unknown! However, when I download the program Windows FixIt, Publisher is recognized as Microsoft Windows. It seems that user account control does not recognize the Windows programs that had found the new HD, but acknowledges those who is downloaded from the internet.
I guess there is a problem with the license, Windows was preinstalled on the Toshiba and replace the hard drive could have caused a few conflicts of licensing.Separated from the:
The same problem. Cloned old HD on a larger hard drive. Everything worked perfectly except NO indexing and update WITHOUT windows - the two recurring problems that seem to appear on the forums after a change of hard disk.
INDEXING resolved with change to "Intel rapid storage technology." Google what I put in quotes, choose the Download Center and get the specific to your OP and the controller software.
UPDATES have been a little more frustrating. The microsoft .fixes and convenience stores were without help.
Go to control panel / system and Maintenance / administration tools
Select Services
Stop the Background Intelligent Transfer Service
Stop Windows Update
In 'My Computer' go to Windows / Software Distribution
Right-click "DataStore" folder. Rename it to Datastore.old
Rename the folder 'Download' Download.old
Return to Services and restart the Background Intelligent Transfer Service and Windows Update.
Look for the updates. It will take some time because you deleted the database.
I hope this helps!

Windows Update does not work after restoring Windows.
I have a HP Mini 210-2080NR netbook with Windows 7 starter (31-bit). My hard drive failed and I replaced it. I ordered a USB HP recovery and then reloaded Windows 7 on new hard drive using the USB recovery drive.
After reloading Windows 7, Windows Update does not work.
This is the error I get:
Windows Update cannot currently check the updates, because the service is not running. You may have to restart your computer.
My connection is OK.
I restarted my netbook and the error is the same.
I reloaded Windows 7 and the error is the same.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

I got a report that my drive was in imminent danger of failure. Bought and made a direct disc-copy of the old disk cloning. Everything seems to work fine, but now I'm getting the pop up that says Windows is "not true." Windows shows as active, and nothing I've tried will stop the pop-up. Worse, Windows Update does NOT work, and without running a few updates, I'm dead in the water for the use of new devices.
I ran MGADiag. Here is that content. Any help is greatly apprectiated!
