  I can get on the net fairly easy, with constant interruptions at various times, but my Toshiba L35-262 ceased to receive Windows updates including convenience store updates in July 2010.   Even if you * know * you just did this - that in that order...

  Check your time zone and time are correct.

  Search for malware:

  Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

  • MalwareBytes (FREE)
  • SuperAntiSpyware (FREE)

  Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

  Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

  Reset.

  I have a laptop of old P750 for 2 months, after they need to do a restore to a disk upward, I now get the above error.
  I then decided to do a cover of toshiba with a clean install and still get the same result of windows update is not not able to connect to the server.
