Windows Update fails to install updates KB2539636

My computer is telling me to install the update above, but it fails every time. Is there a work around for this problem.

I am running Vista 64 bit.
Thanks in advance

  • Windows 7 fails to install completely via Bootcamp on El Capitan

    Configuration information:

iMac: 27-inch, late 2009, with an internal optical drive

HDD capacity: 1 TB, 593 GB available (after Windows 96 GB)

    OS: El Capitan, 10.11.2

Processor: 3.08 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo

    RAM: 8 GB

    Boot Camp: 6.0.1

    Windows 7 Professional, SP1, 64-bit

My Windows 7 installation does not end, stopping somewhere on the last phase that says "end Installation." I had Windows 7 installed on my Mac before El Capitan has been installed and it worked fine (using the 32-bit version then - I tried too after the installation of El Capitan, but that doesn't work anymore). I did a fresh install of El Capitan that then tried to reinstall Windows 7, but nothing has worked, as shown below.

I use Bootcamp 6.0.1 to install Windows 7 Professional (full version) on a DVD via the internal optical drive. Bootcamp does not offer the ability to select an ISO file. My selection select Bootcamp task shows that these two options:

-Download the latest software from Apple's Windows support

    -Install Windows 7

I chose the two options and had the software support installed on a 64 GB USB key. Since the only option after that install the software support is to stop BCA, I did. I've reopened BCA, deselected the option to download the support software and continued to install Windows 7, making the Bootcamp 96 GB partition. I chose Custom installation and formatted the drive Bootcamp. The Windows installer completes the list of things to do (copy files, extension files,...) and then recharge.  Start Windows appears, and the window displays "end installation. Now that there where begins the strange behavior, I think. It restarts again. After that the Windows splash screen comes on, the screen goes black for a few minutes and then he recharges. This happens once again, but restarting does not, as if it is hung. I even let it run all night just in case she needed some time, but I found that it is always hanging in the morning. The computer was still on and the screen was black. I rebooted by pressing and holding down the power button, Windows starts showing the splash screen becomes black and crashes. ... I started Windows in safe mode, and he says that he cannot complete the installation in safe mode. So it seems that I am stuck. During all this the USB is plugged.

Is there something I need to do to have it complete the installation?

Note that I tried to install Windows using Bootcamp several times, varying from one thing at a time. as the withdrawal of all external drives, physically disconnected from the internet (I'm using a USB adapter to Ethernet because my Ethernet port was fried during a storm), etc. I also tried different ideas that I found on the internet, but none for those who work.

Thanks in advanced for any help.

1 disconnect all USB/ethernet and storage connections.

    2. run the following two procedures

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

3 see also (they are different drivers mentioned in step 4).

Boot Camp: iMac displays a black screen during installation of Windows 7 - Apple support

iMac late 2009 Windows 7 drivers

    4. the drivers referenced in 3 are not the same thing as regular drivers Bootcamp/W7 referenced in install Windows 7 and previous versions on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support . The regular drivers are downloaded when you check the option to download the software in the BC Assistant.

    5. If this does not work, there is an extra step, which disables SIP El Capitan.

This is not to point the finger at you, but it's very intriguing and fascinating as users using a 2009 (or older than 2013) Macs, wants to run W7 (from circa 2009), but running OSX El Capitan (2015). It may be due to the software requirements, ISU, Corporate guidelines, etc. And you're not the only one. I've seen users with Macs 2015 wanted to run W7 (but it is no longer supported).

    Good afternoon

I recently bought this satellite laptop computer pro on the package was both windows vista Home premium. I also decided to change fnsi at the same time. The provider also gives Norton Firewall Virus Intrusion etc etc.

Microsoft does not validate my system but after that 2 hours on the phone with them and a system restore, they have agreed that I had bought some valid stuff and that fixed it.
Now it seems windows updates icon appears ask me do I want to download and install.

I do but every time, it fails, there are about 11 things that fail, no installation. I rang Microsoft today that they made one or tow things say but PC Toshiba's fault.

Please, anyone had this happen to them and got the solution (s)?
Please take into consideration that my knowledge of pc can be written on the back of a postage stamp. Do like me simple.

Did you try to disable the firewall or uninstall Norton? Norton may block the Internet connection.

If the provider uses a Proxy Server, you need to enter the proxy in Internet Explorer connection settings.

  • Code 80070005. After carefully installing Windows 7, Windows update tells me that I must install a critical update that keeps failing

After carefully installing Windows 7, Windows update tells me that I must install a critical update for the graphics card to Nvidia 9600 m GS on my Touchsmart, but every time I start the process, the download fails with the error code 80070005. I tried to install the drivers from the Nvidia site, but nothing helped.

  • Windows update fails with 0 x 80070424 among others (update agent will not install)

I tried to install iTunes 9.2 on my computer of girls running Vista 64 sp1.  It failed several times with an error message encrypted with public keys and RCH80.  I took this down to a problem of lack of security patches.  In the process, I noticed that Windows Update has been fails with error 0 x 80070424, indicating a required service was not running.

so I downloaded sp2, also the operation failed with error 0 x 80070424 even.  I checked the Background Intelligent Transfer and start-up and running (so I restarted), I checked Windows Update and it was also running and so I restarted.  Same result.  I've disabled UAC and restarted.  Still no joy.

Then I read an article on the subject, said a service called "Automatic updates" should be running, not only he was not running, did not exist. Some that I've been on something I downloaded "windowsupdateagent30 - x 64 .exe" to install the service.  Unfortunately, this fails with a fatal error, no number error, simply "windows has encountered a fatal error.

It is where I am at this time - trying to figure out a fix for this.  Thank you.  (I also disabled AV, firewall, etc., ran several antivirus scans, malware scans including Malware Bytes, AVG and Avast and MS Defender and rootkit detectors which come clean).

OK I found this user Mohsen Arjomand:

Step 1: Manually replace the corrupted Windows Modules Installer

    5. click on the owner tab.
    6. click on edit.
    7. under "change the owner of ', select the administrator account. Click
"Replace the owner of subcontainers and objects". Click OK.
    8. click on OK. You may receive an error of "deny access". Just move forward.
    9. in the Security tab of the properties of maintenance records, click on change.
10 select Administrators, and then grant him "total control".
    11. click on OK.

Step 2: Manually restore the missing file
    ============================
    1. download and save the file http://www.4shared.com/file/197624120/979be69/fix.html on the desktop form fix.zip.
    2. extract the two files. TrustedInstaller.exe and TrustedInstaller.reg.
    3. copy the file TrustedInstaller.exe in C:\Windows\servicing folder.

    Step 3: Registry backup
    ===================
    1. click on start. Type REGEDIT in the search bar and press ENTER.
    2. Select the computer (the root node) in the left pane, click export under the
Menu of files, choose all under the scope of the export, select desktop in the Save in box
and type backup in file name. Click Save.

After that, please refer to the following procedure to import the registry key.

    Step 4: Import TrustedInstaller.reg
    ===========================
    1. double-click on the TrustedInstaller.reg file in the file Fix.zip.
    2. click Yes when you are prompted to import.

Restart the computer and check if Windows Update works.

And then manually install the components of update as stated in...

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/949104/

    Voila!

It's annoying that it is a known problem with the trustedinstaller.exe being corrupted and or deleted, but it is so hard to find an answer to the question.

  • Windows Update KB976325 fails with error WindowsUpdate_8007371C and WindowsUpdate_dt000 code; How can I correct this failure and install the update?

    I can't install KB976325 update.

The system is Vista Ultimate (64-bit) Service Pack 2.

    Error returned is

    "WindowsUpdate_8007371C" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

    I did the following:

    * Reset Windows Update via KB 971058
    * Check the files with the file system Checker: no problem found
    * Downloaded KB 976325 as a stand-alone file, the update failed (no error given)
    * Ran Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner: no problems found.
    * Ran Windows Defender quick scan: no ound problems
    * Clean the registry and temporary files with Windows Defender

There must be a solution to this problem!

In desperation, I tried the Windows 7 upgrade.  The upgrade failed at the last step.  Vista was reinstalled and it works OK.  However, I can't yet do the KB 976325 update!  Oh, the Windows Defender definitions file has been updated through Windows Update fine.

    Walter,
FYI-you are in the right forum.  All Windows Update components are in the same enclosure.  It is important to publish the specifications of your system, as you did.

OK, lets start with a few basics.  This KB976325 update is an update of security for Internet Explorer 7.
-First question is therefore always you use IE7 or have you moved to IE8?
-If you are looking for your update history is this show as installed KB?  It is possible that it is already installed and that it is presented again for some reason any.

Take a look at this article.  It does not appear that you have tried these steps yet. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers
