Windows update - Live Essentials 2011

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Today, I received a notification that 1 one update is available for Windows Live essential 2011. I had already installed previous version for about a year... Direct Mail, Photo Gallery, Live Writer.  I advanced and installed the update and before you install it, it asked if I wanted to install all of the programs, or just the updates for the programs that I had already installed... I chose the latter.  After installation, I checked in my Start menu and realized that I had a critical Live program to choose from, Live Writer.  So, apparently, that the update did NOT only update that I had installed, he deleted some. Now, when I'm in Internet explorer 8 and click on the mail button, it tries to start Office Outlook.

I tried the system restore, selecting that point update, but restoring is not... so I tried a second (earlier today) restore, which have no point.  Thank God I checked my AppData folder and can see Live e-mail and e-mail records intact.  Is it possible to cancel the update of windows (since the restoration doesn't seem to work) or do I need to download the following essential full windows live and install it over the update failed, re - set from the beginning?

Thanks in advance...

Fallstar

EDIT: Please ignore this post... I think the update only deleted the item from Start Menu, since I was able to successfully launches Live Mail via a different/shortcut icon that I had... and it was the version update of mail.   Moderators can delete this thread. :)

Hi eveyone.  I get an update of windows Live Essentials 2011 KB2434419 update.  Initially, it seemed that he had 2 files included in this update, however, lately, there has been only one file.  When I click on allow and install the update, it creates a restore point, and then tries to install.  When the update reached 67 to 69 percent, it indicates that a problem has been met, then it goes to uninstall itself.  Now, when I go to see the updates were installed, he mentions this update has been successfully installed, but I know for sure that there is not.  Can someone help with this problem?  Is it possible for me to hide this update so that I no longer receive it or have it installed correctly?  Im just frustrated that I see this daily update, and have attmepted to install it so many times, that I am at my wits end and don't want more.   Help, please!

Yesterday, I noticed that there is an update available for my Vista and Windows 7 computers.  I started to perform the update.  About halfway through, the update hung.  I noticed a secondary window jumps to the top.  Using the secondary window, I was able to complete the update.

The first update window continued to be hung.  I restarted the computer.  After the re-start, I have re-opened Windows Update and went to look at the history of the update.

  • Windows Live Essentials 2011 update error 0 x 80070643

Whenever I try to install the program Windows Live Essentials 2011 (I have Vista), I keep getting an error that says:
"It looks like a another program prevents the installer from working." Error: 0 x 80070643, Source: crt90-i386. "He gets about 50% each time and then said THAT WHAT could not be installed.

What kind of program could possibly be the cause of the installation fails every time? I tried to find a simple solution for days and nobody seems to have a very clear answer!  I already rebooted my computer and run the Setup again and I meet all the requirements that Microsoft recommends and it still does not work. What prevents the program to complete the installation?

    Hi PlantNerd19,

There could be several causes for this problem; I suggest you try the following steps to refine the question:

    Method 1:
put the computer to boot and then check if the installation of the program takes place without any problem

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link

Method 2: You can see the steps mentioned in the article below, which deals with a similar question

You receive error code 80070643 0 x or 0 x 643, code error when you use the Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install updates

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/958052

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Version of Windows: Vista

Problem: I know exactly what I did to cause this: I would open Windows Live Movie Maker and it asked me to update to Windows Live Essentials 2011. I started to let that happen, but then I thought, ' wait, maybe I should cancel this update and check to see if there is already a newer version (for example, '2012') of Windows Live Essentials "(I had no idea at the time where it's the only version of Windows Live Essentials, should I use for Vista). So I cancelled the update and that's where I made my mistake. He canceled for me and said something along the lines of "it may be a problem with one or more of the programs (such as). Now, if I try to open Windows Live Essentials to start the update, I just get the same message on my screen: a small box entitled, circle of "Windows Live Essentials 2011"with a big red with a white 'X', then to the right of which the title, 'You are installing other programs' there." Then he says below, "Please wait until all other programs are finished installing and then try again." Under the heading 'Détails' he said, "You cannot install, uninstall or repair Windows Live programs while other programs are being installed." I tried Applications already in the control task manager and nothing related to my problem.
