If you cannot remove SP3 (No. 2), then the only other options are to restore from your backup image you made before you install SP3 or reinstall.

  • Why keep lying Windows Update make me?

What I hate about Windows Update (and also several other windows tools, btw.) is that they often lie to the user!

What I mean by that? That system often displays messages status or data which do not correspond to reality! For example, when I run Windows Update it almost always displays "your system is up-to-date! As a naïve user I at this point leave the program again and mistakenly feel safe.

But as a power user of Windows, I know that Windows is a liar and system, so I learned to always click on the link "check for updates". Unsurprisingly he almost always then surfaces new updates, today for example "12 important updates!

If my system was NOT updated Windows update is displayed and just lied to me once again!

  • Windows Update makes my Word 2007 not operable

Last night, I was working in a Word 2007 document information transfer to another program from him. The detected Windows icon appeared in my taskbar. I does not pay attention to the icon of update of Windows and in about a minute or two my screen erased and then in a phase 3 update of Windows. When the updated, the Word document is returned to the screen. The program was closed as I was transferring information by Windows I assume that the work has been lost. Anyway now when I open my Word 2007 I get a program not responding do not error. I have the installation for Office CD, but I don't know if that will fix the problem as it will be the same word that no longer works. I really think that Microsoft should not perform these updates in this way because he would have been the same if I had steeped in my PC and left the open note. Everyone should have the last word when their computer is being updated. After all, it's a mine not Microsoft or any other software company. I lost a lot of work and I do not have a program of orocessing of words. You can not get a response from Microsoft without a product ID. It is not just great for trying to get into a program they made trash and will not open. Someone at - it solutions that they can suggest to solve my problem.

    Hello Jim Morecraft,.

Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

I understand your frustration regarding this issue; I will do my best to put your PC to work again. Since the issue you described in your post, said after Windows update, I would recommend that we start with the help of the System Restore tool to restore the computer to an earlier point in time before this problem started. The tool using System Restore may not necessarily help you determine the problem. When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type System Restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    2. in the System Restore dialog box, click choose a different restore point, and then click on Next.

    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    4. click on finish.

    5. the computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

Second, you can configure Windows update to where you decide whether to perform the update or not.

If it is a problem of update, the best way to solve this problem is to apply only updates one at a time to determine which updates is causing this problem.

Click on Start -> all programs -> Windows Update, click change settings in the left menu. Select download updates but let me choose whether to install them, click OK. When you are alerted to install a new update, this window, click on view available updates, uncheck all updates and select one at a time, install it, restart your computer, test and update. Once you find the update either continue to ignore it, or look for it at http://support.microsoft.com/

You can also post back with update KB number, you are having problems with.

If please reply and let us know if your problem is resolved or if you need further assistance.

    All the best...!

Try to install some other updates and then reboot your PC and run the update again. If the problem has not been resolved, and then run this tool:

  • Update KB955706 failed once again

After several months of having windows update ignore KB955706 "SQL Express Edition SP3" it is back.
    2 two questions:
Am I missing any functionality not being able to run SQL Express Edition?
Is this back because of a crucial update?
I tried different legal remedies specified in other threads posted here, but like those people, I too was able to get this update to "take".

    I found my answer.
I searched on microsoft.com to get answers on this KB955706 failed to install when you use "windows update".
There are no answers for XP Pro and Vista (which are the platforms, with that I have a problem. But the guys from MicroSoft EBS (Esstential Business Server) are aware of the install KB955706 failure on their platform. As explained:

    http://blogs.technet.com/essentialbusinessserver/archive/2009/05/06/SQL-2005-SP-3-KB-955706-fails-to-install-on-the-EBS-Management-Server.aspx

Then, by email, for the problem I've had for several months with KB955706 install failures. These fine people directed me to a way to install "SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP3". Please note that they said "EXPRESS EDITION" and not "SQL Sever 2005 SP3" which is a completely different product / platform.  It seems that most of the people are focused to install "SQL Server 2005 SP3"platform and not "SQL Server 2005 EXPRESS EDITION SP3" application for XP and Vista.

For SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP3, see the Microsoft Web site at the following address:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=3181842a-4090-4431-ACDD-9a1c832e65a6&displaylang=en

I used the 32-bit for XP Pro computer.
The technicians of the EBS also directed me to a "Mr Fixit" adjusted Windows Update to reflect a correct installation. I don't not favorite it unfortunately.

I have now in SQL Server 2005 EXPRESS EDITION as a new program on both Vista and XP Pro running. Windows Update is no longer permanently downloads and cannot install KB955706.
Express Edition of SQL Server 2005 handy little program that I have now. Express Edition is explained here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/SQLServer/2005/en/us/express.aspx

I'm going to name my kid 'The Super Tech at MicroSoft Essential Business Systems' khatter.
I hope that other failures to install KB955706 can benefit from my long and frustrating saga.
    Thank you.

  • In my list of windows update, I have 2 entries that say FAILED to "Windows Vista Service Pack 2 for x 64 systems (KB948465).

I don't have any other try to install SP2 I can find in my history of update.  But "View basic information about your computer" says my edition of windows Service Pack 2.

I went to the download section to download the SP2, and I clicked on RUN.  As far as I can tell, after the download is finished, he did nothing.

  • Windows Movie Maker 2, 6-How do I change the length of time of the image

    Easily change the time

Windows Movie Maker 2.6 can I change the duration of an image easily without leaving the storyboard / timeline? It takes too long to delete images and report them to the timeline/storyboard. If possible it is possible to easily select all the images I want currently on my slideshow and you change the length of time from there?

    ================================
The change of setting to: Tools / Options /.
Advanced... tab applies only to the added clips
to the timeline * after * you change the setting.

If you switch to view "Storyboard" and select
all of the clips as a batch (select one and the type...
CTRL + A)... you can add the 'Speed Up, Double.
or "Slow down, half" effect of changing the
duration. Simply select all clips / right click
the effect on the menu... Choose...
    Add to storyboard table.

'Speed Up, Double' cuts the duration of half.

"Slow Down, half ' double life.

These effects can be added up to six times.

    If you need finer adjustment...
    the info may be useful:

You can change the duration for each clip
manually. Move your pointer autour the
edge of an element until you see a double red
arrow. Now, drag the double red arrow...
you will see if show a ToolTip displays the duration
    train to change.

Or... just to redo the project after changing
    the long-term: Tools / Options / Advanced
    tab.

If you have not intentionally installed this toolbar yourself then it might have been installed by another application, you have installed or updated recently, as some have delivered Firefox extensions as leads those in years.

Download dot com aka cnet for example is a site known adware that uses it own Installer Group fuck I say less with programs otherwise own.

  • Windows Movie Maker has an upgrade that is compatible with MP4 video format?

Director of windows has an update that is compatible with MP4 video formats?

You posted in a forum of Win XP, so I guess
    you run Movie Maker 2.1.

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Audio - wav, wma, wmv

Best bet for your MP4 files would be to convert
to the. WMV format before3 import into Movie Maker.

There are to many converters available on the net...
