Windows Update of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465)
After installing Windows Update Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465) my computer slowed down and
I was not able to connect to my hotmail account.
I uninstalled, or rather I went the restore point on my computer and uninstalled it.
Why Microsoft comes up with these updates? Very often, these mess my computer updates.
Sincerely,
Lucienne
Never, EVER use system restore to 'Cancel' an update, Service Pack, or upgrade of IE! Instead, uninstall the update, Service Pack, or the IE patch & reboot. If that does not resolve the problem, then try System Restore.

I have started to download Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465) but cancelled it.. and now I want to download and update, but it does not display on my update list... any help?
You can download the Vista SP2 standalone installer:
Download the SP2 32-bit from the Download Center
Download the SP2 64-bit from the Download Center
To see if you have Windows 32 or 64-bit:
1 open the system by clicking the Start button, right-click computer, and then clicking Properties.
2. in respect of the system, you can view the type of system, it will say 32 or 64 bits.

I couldn't after several attempts to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465). I finished all of the instructions that will appear on the screen to fix this problem and nothing works. I'm not a PC geek and want just to get this update loaded. I hope that this will solve the constant stop my IE WHENEVER I use it. I'm at a point where I want to just remove Vista and go back to XP. I NEVER had a problem with it.
Please contact something that can do a non-techie. I look at all these forums, but I don't really know how to do all this. So, unless there are instructions step by step, I'm a lost soul.
Thank you

Vista Service Pack 2 indicates properly installed, but updates important update for installation: Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465)
Download size: 6.0 MB. How can I get rid of request to install? Service Pack 2 installation is performed again, but it remains as update to install.
Sometimes, when an update is installed and appears again it's because a file is missing.
You must download it once more and if it shows up again open Windows Update, right click and select Hide update.

Windows vista service pack 2 (KB948465) cannot install
OK my computer went more slowly in a couple of weeks to the point where it would crash a lot. So what I did to restore the computer to do it how I bought it. I guess I did the settings are correct and it became much faster, but I realized, he became also double as slow as before.
so I tried to install all updates but they keep on do not install. so now im trying to install the windows vista service pack 2 but when im trying to install the stand alone I download it says I have to install windows vista SP1.
I cheked the computer system and he said he already has SP1.
but I keep trying to install SP2 and it keeps showing that I have to install SP1. so I downloaded the SP1 and tried to install it but says that its already installed.
My next step was to remove the update of the system and so I did. then I restart the computer but he repeated that SP1 is installed, then I tried SP2 and continues to show that SP1 is missing.
If it's like a game of back and now I don't know what can do to fix my computer. Its really very slow. I can't watch my movies or just use the internet cuz I have to wait that the computer crashes, I can't even open two windows or it will crash.
so first of all, I want to install SP2 and see if anything changes.
help please, I don't really no what to do, and as you can see I don't know much on a computer, but I guess enough just to follow the directions to fix. Thank you.
Click Start > right click on computer > properties > he'll tell you he that SP is installed.

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465)
Security update for Windows Vista (KB977165) and Service Pack 2 (KB948465) both continue to update on my computer. I have a Dell E521 with Vista Home Premium 32 bit. I have automatic updates selected. SP2 first updated in June 2009, then once again in the OCT, twice in November and twice in December, and now 3 times here in March, sometimes it is updated twice in the same day. It's 90% success every time. The security update (KB977165) is essentially the same thing. He began successfully updated 9 March 2010 and did all day (literally) since then, except for 2 days. A couple of times more than once a day.
I have no service Pack3 (not sure if I should, but I've not offered if it is available). This constant update becomes boring. What should do?

Hi miss.purity,
Welcome to Microsoft answers community forum!
All facilities have their own advantages and disadvantages. We at Microsoft is constantly working to improve, acceleration and provide better services to our users use microsoft products and therefore release of service packs. Service packs are released to solve the problems of the operating system such as the provision of software to hardware compatibility with other products launched on the market (not necessarily Microsoft products), Microsoft publishes fixes for minor problems experienced by users of Microsoft operating system and constantly keep abreast with the latest technology. So I recommend you keep your operating system up to date to benefit from the advantages mentioned above and for the proper functioning of the operating system.
It can cause minor problems during the installation of updates (honestly what OS doesn't?). But its better to deal with minor problems (which can be fixed) after the installation of updates, as the face of the problems otherwise.
So I got advice go you and install the updates sent by Microsoft as it also fixes bugs you mentioned.

System update readiness tool will take some time, so I suggest you wait a while until the process is completed.

I would suggest trying the following steps and check.
Method 1:
Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465) stuck at 83%
Previously, it failed with the error 800F0829 Code. Now its stuck at 83%. I tried to stop, but I don't think it is. I get a pop up and give permission. All other updates worked and have been updated. I tried to look for this error code and I'm stuck. If you have a solution please include all the details regarding the greater part is all Greek. I looked at the FAQ but couldn't find one like this. I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite. I had to specify the computer running on battery power at the same time because I've temporarily moved my laptop. But he is now connected and I tried the updates again. So I'm stuck for hours at 83%
