Windows 7 stuck on update "restart your computer to install important updates"
Yesterday by mistake I upgraded Windows 7 to 10. After watching 10 hours, I returned to 7. System check updates to day and put some apparently and followed with "Restart your computer to install important updates" - which cannot be updated while the system is using them. All that seems fair enough. However, the same reboot message was received after several reboots (including cold boots). Cannot restore to last good config - probably due to their loss in the upgrade. FixIt MS and solving problems of updating has not solved the problem. Is there a switch somewhere that I can reset? Help please.
Is this the same computer - not necessarily the same problem - as in one or more of these previous threads of yours?...

I didn't mean that you cannot run Windows 7. I have run on systems with 512 MB of ram. It will work, but will slip. It will be the same for Vista. I recommend that stick you with Xp until you are able to upgrade your ram.

Windows cannot reset your computer
My computer says windows cannot reset your computer... Please help me to reset my computer...
The original product key is embedded in the motherboard of the laptop UEFI firmware, so you're not going to lose...
If you restore using recovery media HP, which will retrieve the key automatically and reactivate the original OS.
However, you have already saved your PC running Win10 with Microsoft. So, if you decide to install Win10 instead, as long as you install the same version you already running, once the PC connects to the Internet, it will communicate with the Activation of MS servers and automatically reactivates.
Good luck

How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
You can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed. There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

The latest patches have eliminated for windows 7 broken your computer?
The latest security patches have been installed on my computer by windows update last night. The system has been restarted. After the reboot, I was unable to open a session. I could click the icon for my id and enter my credentials. The system seemed to process for a little, but could return to the initial screen where users would click to sign. I ended up doing a system restore to an earlier date. Later, I changed the settings for windows update so patches would not automatically installed after that wrong me the second time.
If anyone has experienced this? Any idea on how to fix it?
This fix worked for me finally!

Windows cannot remove your computer from homegroup
Resolved/Homegroup remove homegroup
Hello
Method 1:
Temporarily disable firewall and antivirus on each machine.http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacksMethod 2:
You can also follow these steps and check:
a. go to the control panel and access the system and security.
b. go to administrative tools and then double-click Services.
Locate and stop following 2 services, after that try to leave the homegroup. You can also set the startup type of the services disabled.
