Windows Update returns tge following error 8024402F
I have installed two updates that have been recommended to fix Windows update successfully and in September, has received nearly 200 updates. but since I only get error messages when I try to access the new updates. I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit on my laptop Dell XPS.
As I already have the recommended "fix", I don't want to hear about it more. I need to solve this new problem.

In settings of Behance Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is authorized to:
- Revoke access
- can act on your behalf to comment, follow users, discover and appreciate the projects
- Allows access to read the flow of network activity
- Able to read collections you have marked as private
- Possibility to create, manipulate and remove your collections.

Next update attempt: 2009/12/09, received error mentioned above, no update has failed because none have been found.
Recent changes to the system: None, computer turned off for a few months while working away PC slot.
What I tried:
- System Restore,
- updates the driver,
- deactivation of the accelerators of firewall/anti-anti-virus/link scanner/download 3rd party,
- visited Support MS and I tried using the ChkSUM resolution,.
- I tried MicrosoftFixit50202,
- I tried Windows6. 0-KB947821-v5 - x 64
- Check my internet connection, updates worked well in the month of August, my connection is the same but updates do not work now.

None of the above works. Then close all open programs and browsers before running MS fix 50686.msi.

Suggest you download and Save it. Then, close all the open programs and web browsers.
Run Microsoft Fixit 50202.msi and choose its default mode.
After that he finished the race, see if the return code is displayed again when looking for updates.If not, then run the Fixit once more and choose his Aggressive mode.

Thanks for trying to help. Now my computer seems to be up-to-date.I followed your steps but MicrosoftFixit50202.msi did not like "my OS is incompatible. I use windows 8. I've upgraded from Vista about 3 weeks ago.#1 - Two weeks ago I had a problem with the installation of Nero/LiquidTV-TiVo to my PC... (this is also when the problem started).
To get the "Nero" thing figured out, I took the advice of someone on the Forum/Blog of Nero. The person has provided a lenghty explanation how to uninstall LiquidTV completely by removing the registry files... I don't really know what I'm doing in the registry, but everything that I helped my problem of Nero, but I couldn't tell you WHAT I deleted OR if I have deleted any bad subfolders or whatnot!... the next time I started my PC is when the NEW NUMBER is right.#2 - On my next BOOT, Windows Update has found an IMPORTANT update:

All the research I did, the problem seems to be with Microsoft .NET Framework... .and all the solutions I found talking about it, "UNINSTALL all THE .NET FRAMEWORK & REINSTALL" ... I tried and there is no .NET Frameworks listed in Add/Remove, and when I press on ' VIEW INSTALLED UPDATES'... " on my PC it says, "no updates are installed on this computer"... what the _____?#3 - Today, I thought I would just pop the WINDOWS 7 installation disc and do a repair/upgrade... It will not be upgraded.
He cycles most of the way through, then he Has STOPPED and says this:The following problems prevent upgrade Windows. Cancel the upgrade, perform each task, (it lists only a SINGLE task), and then restart the upgrade to continue.
- Windows needs to be restarted if necessary to system files can be changed before you continue.
Does not help restart. He tried 3 times and he ends up doing the same thing.
Is it possible I deleted something out of the register so far here and which is cause of all this?
If so, is it possible to fix WITHOUT doing a new install of Windows 7?
OR... anything can be a problem... Please HELP!(And please note: I am a first year student college with specialization in computer science... but I just started last semester, so I don't know what I should... yet. - though, I SHOULD have known better than to mess with the registry!) My bad).
