Windows update says no update is available

Updates Windows repeat me there is no update available but was last updated was 12/13 and the log file indicates he's trying to do the updates.  I have a win vista family 32-bit premium; service pack 2;  HP pavilion elite 4 gigs ram processor quadcore 2.04.  I tried the FixIt I found on the troubleshooting page, but does nothing, to update page does not allow me to down manually load updates.  I have updates automatically download and install at around 03:00.  any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A1. You should have to do a clean install when you inherited the computer. Since you have not, it's yet another reason to do it now.

A2. If a set of disks came with the computer, there is a hidden partition restore (not to be confused with the restoration of the system) you would use to do a clean install (in Dell-speak, a "destructive recovery"). • The same Windows Update is available at all times

I get a windows update all the time the same thing again and again after I download, install and restart my pc. It is immediately as an improtant update.

    Hello

Control Panel - Windows Update - just right-click on the update and HIDE.

  • Why so many Windows updates are available at the same time

    Updates

    * original title - installed more 15 000 updates this morning. Since I use the automatic updates why so many people at the same time? *

    Hi people,

Is the number of '15000' you see on a black background with the logo of Windows on it? If Yes, then it is just part of the update process. It refers the number of files that are being updated on your system. Normally you would see that the screen but if your computer installs updates, then is not a good stop to install (for example: If you a loss of power or power off your computer), then you will see this screen with the black background, the next time that you start.

There should not be any cause for alarm, especially if your update history shows the updates installed successfully.

    Hi ydwiss,

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

Original title: Windows 7 Pro 64, windows update/Defender/firewall has stopped working.

I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installed, after the time of my last updated 31/7, my windows update has stopped working, and no so Windows defender and firewall.  Firewall gives me error 0x6d9. Defender gives me 0 x 80070424.  Update Windows to 7.31 was an update of the Defender, however, windows update will not give me the option to uninstall this update because the Defender has completely disappeared from the prompt that allows you to choose which puts up-to-date to uninstall. Is it possible to manually remove somewhere else?

I ran SFC/scannow and I WAB32res.dll has been altered, so I copied the file on my windows 7 CD for 64 Professional (from program files/common files) and copied and replace my program.files/common files one.  I restarted the SFC and the same error occurred.  I had 5 errors like this:

2012-08-03 19:15:59, 000002fb CSI Info [SR] cannot repair the military record [l:24 {12}] "wab32res.dll" Microsoft-Windows-WAB-Core, Version 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 = (9), the Culture neutral, VersionScope is 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, type neutral, TypeName neutral, neutral to the public key in the store, hash mismatch. I also ran Microsoft Safety Scanner Scanner, he finds 16 errors and fixed them (I saved the names), but even after I reset the computer my Windows Update/Defender/firewall STILL does not work!

Anyone have any ideas? Especially how to fix 'wab32res.dll"maybe that I recorded it in the wrong place?

I noticed there is one in each 'program folder' folder (program files x 86 and regular for 64 bit).  Is also wab32res.dll somewhere in system32?

    b. type the following command and press ENTER to grant administrators full access to the file:
    ICACLS Path_And_File_Name/grant ADMINISTRATORS: F
For example, type icacls E:\windows\system32\jscript.dll/grant administrators: F.
    c. type the following command to replace the file with a good copy of the file:
    Copy Path_And_File_Name_Of_Source_File Path_And_File_Name_Of_Destination
For example, type copy E:\temp\jscript.dll E:\windows\system32\jscript.dll.

  • Envy of HP dv7 - 7323CL: HP driver not available for my laptop after the WIN10, now said to use Windows updates

I think I got this, just need confirmation, before I was going to HP.com to find udpated pilots, then site Web HP said if computers purchased after August 2013 have been tested, I think you could get the updates via the HP with WIN10 site.  My pc model was purchased in February 2013, it seems now that I have WIN10 there is no drivers for me page to go it says that I need to go to the updates of Windows.  Before I upgraded to 10, I was 8, and I had full access to the drivers download through HP.com page.  However, I think I understand now, I had a problem with the Norton Removal Tool, after using it, it makes my pilot biometric and disabled the Windows Hello to WIN10 - the reader of fingerprints for a connection.  The pilot appeared to be corrupted and I needed to just reinstall.  I finally found an old forum via HP where someone has had the same problem that I did and they are found to include a link for the driver, and it worked for my model of laptop and solved the problem.  After some tests, I uninstalled the driver and learned at that time, after the driver is uninstalled, I can go to Windows Update and it will search and find the driver that I uninstalled and offer me the download to reinstall.  That's cool.  So, I understand now that even now if the drivers are not available for my model via HP.com, I can now just do a search through Windows Update and it will fix the problem, only after that I uninstalled it through Control Panel, Device Manager, once I uninstalled, restarted the computer, then did the updates of Windows It downloaded the driver, like when I went to the Control Panel, Device Manager, I saw the biometric driver in good working condition.  This is the case now with who need driver updates / reinstall?  (Note: to update the drivers, I know too much, you can go to control panel, Manager of devices, and then click the driver and select Update driver software.)
