Windows update takes all my bandwidth
I have windows 7 ultimate 64-bit
When windows downloads updates, it kills my bandwidth.
Is there a way to limit the maximum bandwidth that windows can do to its updates?
Is there a way to limit the maximum bandwidth that windows can do to its updates?
Hello
It cannot be done by the operating system . There is a 3rd party software that can help control the use of bandwidth, but I don't know if it can control traffic updates (http://www.netlimiter.com/betas.ph p).
Otherwise 'play' with the time of the update.

All Windows updates and all the patches and individual installation on my program
Is someone can you please tell me why every windows update fills up my programs?
I have about 30-40 on my all programs.
Can I remove all?
I don't have this problem on my other pc just this laptop.
Thank you in advance.Hello
It seems that no one is able to answer this question here. If you have 2 possibilities:
-disable the update of windows to avoid an additional installation of new updates and etc...
-go to "Add/Remove Applications" and uncheck the 'Show updates' (or something similar). This box should be at the bottom of this windowOtherwise, you should check out other, more associated microsoft forums, or just google a bit around to find an answer.
Welcome them

Windows Update ate all my disk space
I ran Windows Update yesterday and my hard drive (C :) happened to have 15 GB of free space to 302 Mo. What was done wrong and how can I solve this problem? Just, I did a disk cleanup now and find themselves with 3.74 GB free, so basically he did not so much. Help, please! I only have Vista and my anti-virus (Trend Micro Internet Security Pro) on this drive
Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.
Using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before the error occurred initially do not use this option.
If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.
A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments.
cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.
http://www.CCleaner.com/downloadWhat the computer is mainly used?
Your computer is a desktop or a laptop? What is the brand of computer and the moel?
What is the hard drive? Are there other partitions or internal hard drives with free space on the disk?

I am a user of Final Draft 7 (writer) - not a computer expert. I allowed the updates to be downloaded and installed, and suddenly my screenwriting software gives me an error message that says 'Windows has shut down to final draft' and if there is a solution, I will be notified, but then nothing happens. I know I look stupid, but I don't have the time to become an expert on Windows. I need my software to work with Windows to do my job! Anyone know why this is happening and what I can do about it? Help
Hi pattitwalker,
I would like to know the name of the Windows update that is causing the problem.
Try to run the application in the clean boot state.
Follow the instructions in the link below to put the computer in a clean boot state.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Put the computer to Normal mode after checking the issue.
If this application does not work in the clean boot, we you need to do a system restore.
Follow the instructions below to restore your computer to its previous state.
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
- Click Start, type System Restore in the Search box, and then click System Restore in the list of programs . If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click continue.
- In the System Restore dialog box, click choose a different restore point, and then click Next.
- In the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
- Click Finish.
The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.
Kind regards

Windows updates take forever...
Dear Sirs,
I have a windows Vista computer, and lately I'm trying to fix these windows problems to update on my own mistakes. I am trying to find answers on the Web sites, but whenever I'm digging into the problems, a new error keeps appearing.
It seems that I missed files on the windows updates, or some files in the registry are incorrect, and now windows updates keep loading for ever... I even don't see the c:\windows\system32\catroot folder on my PC that is bound to the windows updates.
Can you please tell me what to do? Windows updates are really important to the PC, so I really need the assistance of an expert in the field with my windows updates.
Looking forward for your answer,
Frank

How long should windows updates take after 5 months of Vista?
I have Windows Vista on a Toshiba laptop. A few days ago, I noticed that the last successful update was on 11/06/12. Then I ran windows update manually, but was getting an error that says "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running." You may have to restart your computer. "So I restarted my computer and went and it was OK, the service was not working. So I started manually. This allowed me to get updates. I clicked on install, and it said installation of updates. Its been almost 3 hours. In the Task Manager it shows the window updates running and in services, it shows the service running windows update. I'm just curious to know how long to him given has not updated for 5 months? Assistance or direction would be useful and appreciated. Thank you. Herb
Hello
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
It's really weird that Windows has not been updated for 5 months. The time depends on the updates required for Windows, drivers as well as other Microsoft software, apart from the speed of internet connection. This is why the time cannot be guessed.
Kindly updated Windows from time to time for peaceful work of the PC.

I have to write my linux server because my new machine with win 7 does not work, turn not turned off and I can unplug or stop. any solution? (an acceptable)
The update process will take as long as it takes unfortunately. A major upgrade starts when you have sufficient time to undertake the task.
