Hello. I recently acquired a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium x 64. At first startup, I ran Windows update. As usual, a large number of updates have been downloaded and installed. Reboot, Windows update run and failed with the failure of the code 800b0100 and 8007065E. By clicking on the error codes led to a suggestion that 800b0100 could be solved by downloading and running the "System Update Readiness Tool" (KB947821). The help text for 8007065E says nothing useful.

I have downloaded and run the tool preparation system update, but after that Windows Update has failed once again.

Deselecting all individual updates but I finally managed to get everything except three to install. The other three are KB2442962, KB982214 and KB2345886.

I ran the system update tool several times.

I ran the "Windows Update Troubleshooter". He noted that he has made no changes to the system.

I downloaded the updates individually and run them manually.

    They do not always succeed.

    Grateful for any suggestion.

    Hey, Marc P

Thanks a lot for your offer to help. If I had checked this thread earlier I would have taken you to this topic.

However after trying various other ineffective solutions proposed by MS supports (such as installation of downloads in 'safe mode', which produces the error message "this service cannot be started in safe mode") I ended up doing a reinstall instead of the BONE. That fixed it.

Thanks for all your attempts to help.

  • Windows Update search updates with no results or returns the 8007000e error code. Windows Update Troubleshooter tried unsuccessfully

Just installed Win7 Sp1 on Inspiron 1525 after you mount the new HARD drive. Works very well. However, Windows Update search updates with no results or returns the 8007000e error code. Tried troubleshooting of Windows Update without success. Indeed, I am unable to update Windows.

  • Movement of the tool from Windows Update troubleshooting

If you have a problem with Windows Update, please note that the links to the updated Windows Diagnostic tool (the tool for troubleshooting Windows Update akas) have changed.

Can now access using the link below:

    Troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Update:
    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/GP/Windows-Update-issues/en-GB

The new direct link to the tool is:

    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=231149

This isn't an official announcement from Microsoft. I'm just afraid that, with so many current users of the problems of updates, to spread the word widely as soon as possible.

Noel Paton recently posted on 'bad' go.microsoft.com links to old/obsolete versions of the tool of diagnosis of MGA. I tend to not display these links unless I tested just them. [FWIW http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=56062 is always good.]

Also, FWIW, KB836941 is since 26 Feb-16 - MIA here but Google Cache still has https://goo.gl/02hltP (dated April 12-16.)

Chances are that Microsoft will continue to "rearrange the chairs" in the coming months, especially for Win7 & old stuff.

  • Windows Update indicates that do nothing but updates, troubleshooting says error 0 x 80070057, tried several solutions but still not working

I have an old HP 6730 b with Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit with Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.40 GHz which I had more than three years.  It was working fine until a week or so; now the CPU meter is constantly at least 50% and random spikes to 100%, freezing of the computer for a few seconds.  I had a similar problem with CPU spikes earlier but three weeks ago, I took apart and blasted the propeller with the compressed gas to empty the dust of the processor fan and which seems to solve the problem - no more spikes.  I haven't installed anything or changed settings - I just used this laptop for basic - internet, Excel, Outlook, Word functions.

First, I scanned for malware with Malwarebytes - no infection found.  Then I checked the Windows Update and it said I had about 20 updates and 180MB of updates to install.  Tried to install, but after an hour and 20 minutes, it always says download updated, 0% complete.  Updates failed to install.  My last successful update a little over a month ago (11/03/16).  Sidenote - my update of Windows has always been set to "check for updates but let me choose whether to download or install".  However a year ago he stopped advising me when updates were available.

I spent half a day in searching the Internet for solutions.  Among the things I've tried:

    • Microsoft FixIt 50123
    • Solving the problems of diagnosis of Windows Update
    • Windows6. 1-KB947821-v34 - x 64
    • Subinacl
    • Reset.cmd
    • WindowsUpdateAgent-7, 6 - x 64

Even after doing all these things, when I run the troubleshooting Windows Update Diagnostic tool he always says "Windows Update error code 0 x 80070057 (2016-04-17-T-11_03_43A).»  The date given in this error (2016-04-17) which seems to correlate with when I stopped doing notified that updates are available.

When I go to the Task Manager, the affected SVCHOST that takes 50% of my CPU does not initially - I have to click "Show processes from all users" in order to see the svchost process that is constantly take up 50% of my CPU.  When I right click the process and choose "Go to service (s)", these are services that are highlighted - they are all 320 in the PID column:

    • AeLookupSvc
    • AppInfo
    • Browser
    • EapHost
    • gpsvc
    • IKEEXT
    • iphlpsvc
    • LanmanServer
    • ShellHWDetection
    • SENSE
    • Annex
    • Themes
    • ProfSvc
    • Winmgmt
    • wuauserv

I don't know what else to do.  All the tips are greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance for your help.

  • HP ENVY dv6 Notebook PC: Windows update 8.1

I had problems trying to upgrade from windows 8 for windows 8.1.  I posted to the Windows forum and gave instructions for a clean install, I did 2 times now.  The first time it even got stuck in the set of files to 82%.  I went back in and downloaded again 8.1 and tried again this morning.  This time when hit 82 percent that it turned off my computer.  I turned on my computer and it reinstalled the old version of windows.  This time when I got back to 8.1 windows installation has started working by itself.  I don't know what I can do, but I hope that windows 8.1 do not continue to try to settle.  I think that my installation for windows 8.1 files are flawed.  Is there anywhere else to get the update and more in the store?

try to run the windows update troubleshooter.
