Windows updates should or should not always be installed?

Should I still install updates when prompted? Too many updates later will slow down my system?

A1. To help keep your PC more secure and reliable, it's a good idea to install the new updates as soon as they are available. The best way to install updates is to use the Windows Update service and updated of course automatic lit.

  • I try to run windows update and it will not update gives error code 80070005

I try to run windows update and it will not update gives error code 80070005, I also ran fix and it tells me that it is fixed but it is not getting the same error code when I try to update after running it help please?

    Hello

    1. which Microsoft Fixit did you?

2 have you installed new hardware or software before the show?

    3. who is the antivirus installed on the computer program?

4 update you are trying to install?

    5. are you logged on as administrator on the computer?

If this isn't the case, I suggest you to log on as an administrator and check for the issue.

    Method 1:
One of the other reason for the 80070005 error is caused by software running on your computer security.
Temporarily disable the security software on the computer and see if that makes a difference.
    Disable the anti-virus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:
I suggest you perform the steps described in the article:
Error: 0x80070005 when you try to install updates by using Microsoft Update or Windows Update
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/968003
This problem may occur if access is denied when accessing or copying files during the process of Windows Update or Microsoft Update. Access may be denied if you have logged on to the computer as a standard user and this account does not have permission to install updates. I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

    Method 3:
Perform a clean boot, and then check if it helps.

I have windows 7 x 64 Version 6.1.7600.16385. My windows update has only downloaded and installed a fix (KB947821 on 22/03/14. In the event err log # 2147942487command line: "C\:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WUSA '". "»» "EXE" "Windows Update Troubleshooter said" search for missing or corrupted files. I did a sfc/scannow and everything was fine, that the settings are incorrect... Went to computer management by looking at the windows log. Event ID was found in respect of the implementation of 3. Looks like I've lost all my updates. Window update is only showing KB947821 HOT of difficulty. All my other downloading updates for the past two weeks included Microsoft Office Update that I can't see anything there all gone. I check the installed updates and 14 updates that don't settle all gone. Windows Update indicates any problem or error #. It says Windows update installed "Never". I tried the solution to the difficulty of corruption problems MSI software update registration. Help I don't know where to go from here. I ran the windows Memory Diagnostic tool, which came with no error. In the community he sent me to back registry which I do not know how to do. Can I save on my hard drive or another source. He says type reedit32.exe. I have the windows 7 registry editor wants me to save the registry key or subkey > I do not know what files to back up or export. I'm not computer savvy, but I do what I can do better. Had problems with windows update not install and now not download or install 2 MOS. So where and how can I know what updates I need after that this problem is corrected.  Thank you

If you want Office 2007 updates to appear in the installed updates again, you would need to uninstall/reinstall Office 2007 and install all the updates again.

Assuming that Office 2007 is installed & working properly and no update is offered when you run a manual check for updates now, you might want to leave enough alone (that is, do nothing) - then see if the 2 updates for Office 2007 SP3 be released next Tuesday (a) receive, (b) successfully install and (c) are listed in the installed updates later.

PS: The possible causes of the problem are messing with registry cleaners, messing around with the Software Distribution folder, and the fact that it was a computer refurbished when you bought it.

  • My "windows update" says he can not search for new updates-error code 80070002. Help, please. Thank you!

I already tried ideas to stop the Windows Update Service, removal of temporary files to update and restart the Windows update service.

    Hello

Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
Follow these methods mentioned below and check.

    Method 1:
I suggest you to check if you are able to access Windows Update service and ensure that the following services are started. If it is not started, follow these steps:
    a. Click Start, type services.msc without the quotes and press ENTER.
    b. search Windows Update.
    c. right-click on the service and select Properties.
    d. in startup type, select Enable.
    e. Click Start under the service status.
    f. click OK.
Repeat steps c through f for the following services:
    Background Intelligent Transfer Service
    Cryptographic services
If the steps do not help to solve the problem, you can go ahead with the methods mentioned below and check.
    Method 2:
Your anti-virus software is in conflict with Windows updates. You can test this by temporarily disabling your antivirus software. Check out the following link.
    Disable the antivirus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
    Method 3:
The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working

    Method 4:
I suggest that you try to perform the SFC (System File Checker) scan on your computer and check if the problem persists. Read the following article.

I had this problem 2 days in a row. Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. "Automatic updates" not ended and I got the same message on restart and had to wait for it to timeout.

I tried "manually" update, and that fixed the problem.

Go to the control panel. Click on system and security. Click on Windows Update and follow the instructions. I selected the updates recommended, installed and rebooted. Problem solved.

(I have no idea why this problem occurred. In the "Windows Update", I opened the "update history" and saw the 'Impossible' updates, but I don't dig deeper than that.)
