Windows updates stop my adapter wireless of recognition!

Please help, I got on the phone to Dell all morning. I have replaced a failed hard drive last week, installed the drivers and it worked very well. Windows Installer, some updates and none of the devices (ethernet or wireless) network are recognised or shown in Device Manager. Man Dell had me change a setting in the Bios and I managed to install the driver and it worked again. Now, Windows tonight has run a few updates more and he disappeared again. I tried to copy what I was shown in the Bios, but it does not work. I am now remove all installed updates, but being not no one "irritable", I don't know if I made the right choice or not... hope it has sense and someone can help!

* Just add, I am running Windows Vista - just noticed this isn't in the right forum *.

Hi Alison1978,

Have you installed an optional update that is associated with the network adapter?

If you have installed an optional for uninstall, and check the same network adapter update if the problem persists.

In addition, once you have completed uninstall them all updates, install a return to point stem update is exactly the origin of the problem.

Hope this information is useful.

  • Windows Update stopped working.

I have the 64 bit version of Windows 7 SP1 installed on my laptop [Dell Studio 1747 with processor i7 4 GB RAM & 750 GB hard drive.  Windows Update stopped working on my machine.  All updates through April 19, 2016 have been installed.  I already did the following:

    (1) installed the previous images dating back to several months

    (2) only run WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab to get error # 0 x 80070005 several times

    (3) race reset Win Update.bat unsuccessfully

    (4) run MicrosoftEasyFix20179.mini.diagcab without success

    (5) I tried install subinacl.msi and runs the recommended Reset.cmd file

    (6) installed WindowsUpdateAgent-7, 6 - x 64 .exe

All the latter were applied as suggested on the Microsoft Support Website.  None of these maneuvers in addition to the various applications of my antiviral software and malware, brought any resolution of the problem.  I would appreciate any suggestion short of a new facility, because I can't seem to find anywhere, all the new boards.

I don't know what worked, but Windows Update started to update itself again.  What I don't have, though, was to limit the number of updates, I got the update at some point, less than 30.  I read a post at one point noted that a large number of updates may increase the risk of errors of download and installation.  I had some mistakes on the first download, but those corrected when I download tracking the rest of the updates.  I do not wish that Microsoft would create a repair or update protocol independent site, because it seems that this is not an uncommon problem.

    Hello ms_frustrated,

I recommend that you perform a repair installation.  It would be the fastest way and repair you the computer and while still keeping your documents.  PLEASE SAVE YOUR SYSTEM VISTA FIRST.  The link below explains how to perform a repair installation.  After your installation, verify that Windows update works before installing anything.

  • Error 80072EFE when you run Windows Update on Win7 so wireless

You try to run Windows update on a new laptop from Toshiba with Windows 7 installed and a good wireless connection to a router I get error 80072EFE rather than a list of updates. If I connect directly to the router the updated list comes through fine. I can then unplug the router and download updates more wireless.

Initially I was running tried to reinstall as 32-bit, 64-bit Win7, but made no difference. Tried to update after I just installed Win7 before Norton and other applications on. Contacted Belkin and they gave me a checklist of the router to do, but not better. Someone at - it ideas? The problem is reproducible even with Norton and other installed applications. If you connect the router updates Windows detects the updates to install. If you work with wireless it gets error 80072EFE.

    Phil

If I connect directly to the router the updated list comes through fine.

Until you get your wireless connection problems straightened, run your manually check updates when you are connected to the router.

  • Windows Update stopped working on Vista (Ultimate). Error code is 80070005. Difficulty?

When I go to Windows Update and click on ' Check for updates ', the display shows "Windows could not search for new updates", than he has ever been a check for updates and have never been installed, but the latter is false, as I received it regularly until recently. Of course the possibility to connect to the updates server was lost. A part of the Vista operating system is damaged? Recently, I uninstalled McAfee and installed Norton Internet Security.  Installation of Norton were possibly affecting the ability to receive automatic updates?  What is the solution?

I also get a message that I am not currently connected to any network, but I am actually connected to my home wireless network.  This message seems to have surfaced at same time as issue updates resurfaced.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

I'm about out of ideas here. Since running the removal of McAfee and then tool reset Windows Update did not solve the problem, this leaves us with only two choices in my humble OPINION:

    1. one or more of the measures of protection in real time from NIS are intefering (assuming that NIS installed & working properly); or...

    2. you see the effects of a hijackware infection.

OPTION A: Contact the Support of Norton (Symantec).

OPTION B: Carried out a thorough for hijackware.

Microsoft PCSafety provides users at home (only) with free assistance in dealing with infections by malicious software such as viruses, adware and spyware (including unwanted software).
    https://support.Microsoft.com/OAS/default.aspx?&PRID=7552&St=1

Also available via the homepage of Support of consumer safety: https://consumersecuritysupport.microsoft.com/

    Otherwise...

    1. see if you can download/run the MSRT tool manually: http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

NB: Run the FULL scan, not analysis FAST!  You may need to download the MSRT on an uninfected machine and then transfer the MRT. EXE to the infected machine and the rename it, for example, SCAN. EXE, before being able to execute it!

    2. run this online scan (in Safe Mode with networking, if necessary):

    http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/Center/whatsnew.htm

    3. now after the required logs in an appropriate forum for assistance by an expert in the field. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!

I can recommend the assistance of experts available in these forums: http://spywarehammer.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?board=10.0, http://www.spywarewarrior.com/viewforum.php?f=5, http://www.dslreports.com/forum/cleanup, http://www.bluetack.co.uk/forums/index.phpand http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and stand-alone computer (that is, not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) repair facility.

Good luck & please keep me on any progress you make.

Out of updates, hide those I proposed

Set it so that the drivers will not install, then in updates suggest about HIDE it... This are almost always very old
drivers that MS is far behind them certifying.

How to disable automatic driver Installation in Windows Vista

Then manually go to research to see if a new driver is really available.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers manually

  • Blue screen with Windows updates: Stop 0 x 00000077 (0xC000000E, 0x06F16000, 0x000000E, 0 x 0000000)

I came back to a blue screen (this is the 3rd time) in the last 2 days. the message read:

A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.  KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR. If this is the first time to see this message to restart your computer. This is my 3rd time *.

If the problem continues disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software * how to locate these items? ***

Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shadowing him * how I do? ***

If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart the computer, pressF8 to select advanced startup options, and then select Safe mode.   I did not follow the previous process again simply because I don't know how.

However, when I type ctrl/alt/delete message closed and I restarted my laptop. When you click on Interent explore a microsoft window opened and suggested that I run Mircosoft updated. When I run the search for update (using express) I get the message: [error number: 0xC800042D] 0 x 00000077 (0xC000000E, 0x06F16000, 0x000000E, 0 x 0000000) indicating that it has encountered a problem and that he was able to complete the search for my updates that it said I had need... now what that?
