Windows Vista - after the RESTORE partition HARD drive: WINDOWS COULD NOT COMPLETE the INSTALLATION. TO INSTALL WINDOWS ON THIS COMPUTER, RESTART THE INSTALLATION

Hello

I have WINDOWS VISTA and just tried to reinstall my laptop of restoration on a HARD disk partition.

The restore went through, but then I got the error: WINDOWS COULD NOT COMPLETE the INSTALLATION. TO INSTALL WINDOWS ON THIS COMPUTER, RESTART THE INSTALLATION

When I press 'OK' (which is the only option), it tries to start again, until I get the same error through the black screen.

How can I get out of this loop please?

Thank you.

Lucie

Hello

For any problem with the help of the recovery Partition that has been copied to the hard disk by the computer manufacturer, you must contact them.

This recovery process is the manufacturer, not Microsoft.

You never told us why you wanted to do a restore. If you had serious errors and the recovery process does not work, you will have hardware problems. BUT we're only guessing at this stage due to lack of information to help you.

See you soon.

I reboot several times but the result was always the same. Home premium to Windows 7 has been with the netbook already, so I don't have the Disc... can someone help me solve this problem? Thank you very much

My colleague has had a similar problem when she came back to the States with a new Vaio from Sony, I didn't just run recovery and reinstall Windows and its worked good since. She even gave me a hug for fixing.

The problem seems to be the OOBE which would suggest its more hardware than windows, but I understand your nature, you want to be right about everything.

  • Windows could not complete the installation.

Hi, I use the windows 7 edition starter with ASUS Eee flare series.  This message appears when I do the system restore, "Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation.

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

According to the description, it looks like you get the error, such as "Windows could not complete the installation" when you perform a system restore.

However, we need more information about the issue to help you better.

Please help me to answer these questions.

Why you perform a restore of the system on the computer?

    Try this method and check:

    Method 1:

Try to choose a different restore point and check.

    Method 2:

    Perform a startup repair

Note: you can perform this step only if the mode of the Windows recovery environment is enabled on your computer by the manufacturer of the system (Acer). This mode allows you to use the recovery options.

    Click: Startup Repair

    Also check:

  • I have a serial number valid for windows Vista Home Basic, but my hard drive crashed and I have no way to re - install vista on my computer. I am looking for a download so I can do it.

Basically, I installed windows 2000 on my machine and I can't find a download for windows vista home basic that doesn't have some kind of crack or keygen. I want a legal copy not a hack. I have the serial number supplied with my computer. where can I find this download or get a drive.

Here are all LEGAL for Vista:

How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

What are the BCD entries to TWO instances of dual boot of Vista professional in TWO separate hard drives? -Dell Vostro 1710, my wife had to be returned to Dell, I installed its Vostro hard drive in my Dell Vostro 1710 SAME, but I don't get a menu starting double when I turn on my Vostro. (Both Vista Business operating systems are licensed separately).

I would like to start his drive hard so that it looks like 'his' office on 'his' computer.

    Thanks for any advice.

The easiest way is to use the DualBoot Pro.  He has the tools to write the necessary code automatically.  It is excellent for managing the tasks you want to do.

However, you have a potential license problem.  Even if your Dell has the exact code in the BIOS to activate the copy of Windows on the hard drive of your wife, the computer is only allowed for an OEM copy.  If Dell is back after repairs then you should be OK once you have turned on the hard disk in his computer of your wife. You can delete the entry of additional start with DualBoot Pro menu,
