Windows Vista cannot find any networks - please help!

On my laptop Windows Vista comes preinstalled and can have no problem finding networks.

I also have Ubuntu on my laptop and it is detects networks easily.

I was told it might be the driver... However, I don't know where to find the latest drivers for Vista.

Nobody knows exactly where to find them? I am eager to find a simple solution if it is not the drivers.

I appreciate any help you can give me. There is no sense to me why he does not find networks, including in my house. Thank you!

Hello

1. How do you know that the problem is related to the drivers?

2. you remember to make changes before the hardware or software issue?

3. What is the brand and model of your system?

Method 1:

You can read the following article and try to run the troubleshooter.

  • Windows cannot find any networks, but Ubuntu can! (X 32 Vista Home Premium)

I recently replaced a faulty laptop computer mother board with an identical model (only difference is a newer version of the BIOS). After restarting Windows (Vista Home Premium 32 bit) I can't find the networks wireless where I can see usually eight networks at least an unsecured connection, but now I get nothing.

I replaced the wireless card Atheros with an Intel Pro 3945ABG driver and installed the latest version and that I still get the same error "Windows cannot find any networks", I can get access to the internet via an Ethernet cable but I am unable to connect wirelessly. If I try to manually configure the wireless connection, I get "unexpected error occurred".

I started the system from a CD of Ubuntu to check that it was not a hardware problem. Wireless card perfectly, sees all the networks, connects and works very well.

It seems that something inside Vista has failed since even change the wireless adapter for a different manufacturer and the results of the modeling in the same error, pointers?

    Kind regards

    Jason.

    SOLVED

  • Windows Vista cannot find the CD/DVD drive

The problem: my computer does not find my CD/DVD drive, it is not listed in Device Manager as at all CD/DVD drive, it has power because it opens when I press the button, and when I put a CD, it does nothing.

My computer: I have Windows Vista Home Premium, dv6700 Notebook, 32 bit, running on the System Pack 1. (I tried to update to the pack 2 system, but at some point, he is simply decided to AC turns off and when I booted up my laptop, he did a system restore and poof, System Pack 2 was gone, and I never re-installed.)
What I tried: I tried the Fix It program here on Windows, and it has detected a problem (if I remember correctly, but had no trouble for him); I tried deleting the upper and lower filters (which I haven't really found, because the CD/DVD is NOT an option in my device manager); I tried setting my computer back to factory settings completely.
Basically, I'm at a loss to know what to do to try to solve this problem. I don't remember how long this has happened (at the time, that my hard drive does not open even for me to put a CD) and I don't see what program could have caused it as appropriate. The only rider listed is listed under disk drives, and it's WDC WD2500BEVS - 60UST0 ATA Device (I don't know if cela help/questions in all). I do not have a disk; the laptop comes with Windows Vista and if she had a drive anyway, I didn't like this laptop was given to me by my father. I don't know what else to do to try to solve this problem. Someone please help.

You say that you are not able to change the *.vmx file? You should not have the virtual machine running, then edit the vmx file. You need to REPLACE the line indicating the type of ethernet0 (from there, all that is initially at 'e1000'. Then, save the vmx file and exit the texteditor.

Starting the virtual machine with the mounted CD of ESX.

Can tell you how, you get an error (and what is the exact error).

  • Windows Vista cannot identify the network wireless secure after reboot, shutdown, standby, idle, screensaver...

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 that is about 5 years old.  After almost every stop, restart, sleep, saving screen and idle my wireless connection icon gets a yellow warning triangle and when I open my network and Center sharing there is a red X on the 'plan' and he said: he can't identify the wireless network.  So I have to disconnect and reconnect several times to connect wireless.  There are also 2 PCs cable, 1 PC wireless and 1 laptop Mac wireless connected to the NetGear RangeMax router with no problems.  I tried to update my Broadcom 802.11 g network adapter (version 4.82.28.56 / date 21/06/06), but he says it's the most recent driver.  I use WPA2-PSK authentication with a password for the security of the wireless router.  The only one I know about computers is that when I have a problem I look up on internet forums until I have the solution, and then I followed the instructions.  It has worked so far.  If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

Assuming that the signal is strong, and that there is no noise in the electrical environment (http://www.ezlan.net/wbars.html ).

Uncheck the box to the NIC of energy economy (I.e., do not leave the card save energy).

There may be some variations on where is the energy saving setting.

Click Update drivers and choose her browse my computer for drivers.

  • Windows 7 cannot find any driver for the new Ultra 6 Vodafone Smartphone

I welcome all updates automatically, Ramesh and I went to your link, but there is no update or link to solve this problem.

The problem is that Windows 7 is incompatible with my new camera. I finally managed to contact someone at Vodafone which was more of an expert than before and after having followed his instructions, the PC had not yet installed the drivers for my camera.

However, I have a solution! Forget the connection of the USB cable and...

Someone recommended I try the AirMore app - and it solved the problem completely. With his help I am transferring files via WiFi. Once installed, you have to visit the website for AirMore and 'connect' the handset and PC live, then anyone can do anything that they could do it using a USB connection.

I am very happy that I found this alternative. It will work no matter what OS you use or what type of phone. A near universal solution. Applause to its developers!

  • Windows 7 cannot find any bluetooth device

Just bought myself a little Bluesoliel micro bluetooth dongle. As soon as I plug it into my computer hp laptop g60, drivers installed automatically for windows to work with her. But when trying to detect devices, he finds nothing, without giving no verification as to the whether he actually was looking for. I'm trying to do a right click on the bluetooth icon on the task bar to open the settings, but nothing happens and there is no option to open the bluetooth settings in the Panel, and the devices section and printers charge forever. I know that the device works with the software of bluesoliel it is came with, even with a downloaded Toshiba stack of the trial. There is clearly a problem with the bluetooth stack windows that I need fixed, I need to use the stack of windows due to the compatibility of the program with nothing else.

I found the problem, I just had the bluetooth service turned off in my Service Manager.
