I tried loading in safe mode, but it does the same thing in that. I also tried selecting the option, the last load charge effective network via the F8 key but again that has not worked.    I have not all disks with the laptop, so I don't have a vista disc.

I'm not very computer and have done everything I can think off.

can someone point me in the right directioin.

I working on my main pc at this time and did the updates of windows to be sure it's XP

Janhsmn,

If you do not want to install updates on your computer, you can select the "Hide" option and it will ignore them in the future and continue with other updates. Do not forget that the reason why the updates could be the cause of this problem would be because as a conflict with a third-party software. And most likely will not affect both your systems in the same way unless you have the same third party software installed on all your machines.

To hide the update in Windows Vista, please follow the steps below.
1. click on 'start '.
2. Type "Windows Update" and press on "Enter"(on the keyboard) ".
3. Select "Search for updates"
4. Select "View available updates"
5 right-click the update that is causing the problem and select "hide update"

Please let us know if you need more help.

  • Vista does not start after I disabled the service DCOMLauncher

Hi all.   I really hope that someone can help me with this, because I can't use my computer at all, and I have to use a notebook different to write this post.

The problem: Windows Vista does not start with the normal settings or Mode without failure.   To be more precise, after Vista starts, he has only a black screen and a limited mouse functionality.

The background & problem: I use Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2.   I have disabled the DCOMLauncher Service using the program Autoruns from Sysinternal.

What I tried: I tried to start Vista in Mode safe with no result.

Thanks to all those who are trying to help me.

When you choose Safe Mode choose last known good startup.

As long as your subsequent boots are deemed unsuccessful, which is perhaps not the case, this will start the configuration before using Autoruns.

    Safe Mode command prompt works?

  • Windows does not start after the update...

Hope someone can help with this,

I just installed the update sp1 for my computer for Windows Vista Premium Home dir all installed with no problems, but when I restarted my pc, Windows wouldn't start. The only thing that is on display is a black screen with Windows Error Recovery on top, then he said "Windows does not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. I tried to restart it in different ways, but nothing. Then he said: I have to insert my OS drive to try to fix, but that's not even start. Everyone knows about this problem? This has happened right after that I installed the update...

    L.Butler,
Are you able to boot from your Vista DVD or recovery partion and run the Startup Repair tool?  If you do not have a Vista disc so make sure that your computer is configured to boot from the CD drive before booting from the hard drive.  Once you start with support for Vista select the "Repair your computer" option and first run "Startup Repair".  If that is not correct the problem then boot with Vista support and select the option "System Restore" and choose a date prior to the update install.
Once you are able to boot normally again, then I suggest that you are looking for virus\malware.  SP1 was released in April 2008.  So if you install earlier means there may be other problems on your system.  If you have a backup of your current personal data then I recommend to do a clean restore to install\factory.  Then immediately install antivirus software, and then do all Windows updates before installing other software. • Vista does not start after power failure

It is a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Vista 32 - bit, recently replaced hard drive

My daughter has been using the computer and the power failed due to low battery.  Now, the computer does not start normally and not all programs will run.

If I choose "safe mode", it hangs on crcdisk
If I choose 'window start normally' it crashes to the screen of Microsoft Corporation
If I choose "last known good configuration" then it seems to start normally, but does not all programs run.

I tried to boot from the OS disk, but it ignores the entire disk
I tried to run the installation disk once the computer is running, but it freezes.

    Need solutions.  Thank you.

    Hello Bakajanaidesu,

    Hello

I suggest you borrow the CD of windows vista to your friends

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

I suggest you check in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:

If you be able to start your computer in safe mode, I'd say make clean boot and check.

Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • does not start after the update of Norton

This morning, I started my HP Pavilion a6600f, and it started normally, running in Vista.  Then, I received a notice of Norton that I needed an update, something that happens regularly.  He downloaded the updates, and then asked that I restart the computer.  I also notied it says a previous update was also pending.  After restarting, it came to initial blue screen hp and nothing more.  No key worked and the hard drive has not been consulted.  Pressing the button, the computer stop immediately, not the usual five second delay.

Obviously something happened during this update has been processed.   Any help is appreciated.  Because the computer will not start even in safe mode, I know not how to do almost anything.

OK, I missed the part of Vista but you also said "the keyboard was not working" and that's why I commented on the keyboard.

Also, you said "I had then a notice of Norton that I needed an update, something that happens regularly.  He downloaded updates, and then asked that I restart the computer ", there was no mention on an update of Windows.

If this is the case, download and create the recovery of Norton as tool suggested.

  • Vista does not start after BIOS flash

I recently flashed my BIOS for my Presario SR5152NX by Vista after having downloaded the file directly following from the HP site:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=PV-66758-1&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=3436821&OS=2093&lang=en

He seemed fine, because he then asked me to restart my PC, I did.

When it restarts, BIOS seems to be fine but once, he's trying to get into windows Vista, it will NOT start, and instead, I get a BSOD with the following STOP error message:

    STOP: 0X0000007B (0XF789E640, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

I tried searching for this error, but I do not get a clear answer to what it means.

In addition, by choosing 'use last known Configuration' always produces the error, and I can't get in any security mode in the start menu.

I can't enter in Vista, please help.

I have solved my problem, but please keep this up for the other reference...

It turns out that the error has to do with a "BOOT DEVICE" error. Once I read that I feared it might be a faulty drive. This was not the case.

It seems that after the BIOS has been flashed, he changed the order of loading on my readers, and so it hurts than as a master. I guess expected Vista are on it and wrong. What I had to do was go in the motherboard configuration by pressing F10 on the diagnostic screen, and I had to spend my disk drive to configure the Vista disc as the main (has priority on the others), using the + and - keys on the numeric keypad.

EUREKA, now charge well Vista again and the BIOS is updated correctly.

  • IBM Notes 9 does not start after the update to Acrobat DC

    Hey people,

in January 2016 we went from Lotus Notes 8.5.3 and Acrobat 9.5.5 to IBM Notes 9 and Acrobat DC. After the first installation, everything works fine.

After update to Acrobat DC it always adds the following line to the notes.ini file:

This causes IBM Notes to crash at startup. The following lines are written to the log file:

Manual removal of line «EXTMGR»... ' solved the problem. Unfortunately, I have to do once again, after Acrobat updates each time. Of course, this corresponds to each PC in our society.

Please tell me if there is a solution to this problem. Maybe it's possible to prevent adding one line to the notes.ini Acrobat file?

To make sure that: of course I also placed this question at IBM!

    Kind regards

    Florian Burger

Just to close this band of working capital, IBM Notes 9 FixPack 6 solves the problem.
