I have update for Windows Vista (KB2505189), platform update Supplement for Windows Vista (KB2117917) - french and Cumulative security update for ActiveX Killbits for Windows Vista (KB2508272). These updates get the 8007371B error code. I have Windows Vista 32-bit. I searched the Microsoft catalog available and tried a manual installation for these updates, but they have always failed. I have not yet tried to install it in safe mode. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?
8007371B ERROR_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE
One or more required members of the transaction are not present.Only the specific return code can be solved by running system, aka CheckSUR update readiness tool -.
CheckSUR for taken over all the versions of basic x 86 (32 bit) Windows Vista
When you are prompted to save CheckSUR, choose to not run it.
When the download is complete, close all open programs and browsers. If the installed antivirus is Firewall Norton/McAfee party or a 3rd is used, then suggest you first boot system configuration before you run it.
NOTE: In the clean boot state will be disabled all firewalls of part 3. Ensure that the native Vista firewall is now enabled - enable Windows Firewall on or off
Now run CheckSUR (. Windows6 0-KB947821-v12-x 86.msu).
Restart the system for the same configuration of boot clean and do a check for updates in Windows Update in Control Panel.
If the system can search, detect, download, and install updates now, save an update of a subsequent test.If the system can or cannot now, cancel the clean boot configuration and restart in normal Windows mode.
See if the registered update installs now.If the system still cannot install the updates, please copy and paste the contents of one of the newspapers that CheckSUR created when he ran. They are located in and are named
Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.logIf the system can install the updates in the clean boot configuration, but not in normal mode of Windows, then there are 3rd party software which is the origin of the update installation problem.

Windows Vista goes to sleep and then wakes up immediately at the login screen

I scanned the computer many times for viruses (using McAfee), but found nothing. Is there a way to tell the computer to sleep and have it actually do?

See if the following can help you...
Start button > Panel > Classic view > Power Options > click on change power settings > click on advanced editing powersettings > scroll down until you see Miltimedia parameters, click the plus sign (+) sign in front of > again once, click the (+) sign sign in front when media sharing > on battery shoud read " allow the computer to sleep ".
Sector should read " allow the computer to sleep ".
If they aren't, it must 'prevent the idling to sleep' or 'allow the computer switch to Away mode. Click on it, you should see a pointer on the far right, click on it and select allow the computer to sleep.
Click OK when finished.t-4-2

I can reset the clock via the server of internet time and after about an hour, he begins to lose time. When you restart the laptop, the clock is not properly reset the CMOS. I don't think I have battery problems since the clock loses time if connected to power or not.
Thanks for the reply David. I'm not sure that replacing the CMOS battery in a laptop is simple. I'd appreciate an information change in a notebook Acer Aspire.

Some parts of the Firefox window are translucent, allowing the image of the desktop to show through. These regions are anything but great internet site central image which behaves normally. Unless the desktop is completely black this problem makes reading the tabs, address bar and the bookmark are difficult if not impossible. I encounter this problem only on my new Dell U3011 monitor. Firefox is the only application that has this issue on the Dell monitor. The monitor built into the laptop that animates the Dell monitor does not exhibit this problem. The laptop is a Lenovo W540 running Windows 7 64-bit. Thank you very much for your help. Steve Schupbach

I have a Pavilion Notebook and recently caught the virus from file recovery. I bought and ran the disc of Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security. Now, I get a black screen with a flashing cursor in the upper left corner of the screen. All tests ran for memory, hard disk, etc. are OK. Now I have a recovery disk, but have not backed up my files. Any suggestions?
Download your backed up files, then you can boot from your recovery disks to reinstall Windows.Several options to do so.
Remove the hard drive and attach it to one > USB adapter . Plug it into another computer via usb port and copy files off the power.
You can use > Ubuntu Live CD to boot from and backup files.
OR ->Kaspersky CD has the ability to back up files.

HPE-500f freezes black screen and the cursor at the top left
My Pavilion Elite HPE-500f boots up to a white screen with the cursor in the upper left corner. He will not start in safe mode. Problem started when I left flash drive in USB that may be a coincidence. Started from CD's with the recovery disk, but which did not also. Run diagnostic F9 of the opening screen and it shows the error message "test of startup failed: error code BIOHD3;" No leave actiive.
I can get it to run by pressing ESC at startup and even if the start of the hard drive is highlighted I have to press down arrow for CD player, then the button to the hard drive, and press ENTER. It will start normally. This process works every time, so it doesn't seem like a hard drive problem.
Appreciate any help on this forum
Hello
If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7. Download the ISO from the link below.
You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here. One time created, or if you already have this, insert the CD into the laptop and restart at the start of it. Select repair.
Select the "repair your computer" option and follow Option 2 in the guide on the link below to run the startup repair - you may need to run this 2 or 3 times.
http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/668-system-recovery-options.html
If the above does not help, take note of any error message you get during the procedure and include them with your next post.
Kind regards

Hello, apparently this option has been removed intentionally in preparation for a redesign of the browser which will land in firefox later this year. You can use the following extensions to work around this issue if: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/hide-tab-bar-with-one-tab/
