I am running windows xp sp2 on c:\ and windows vista sp1 family premium on d:\--avec card intel dual core cpu E5200 @2.50 GHZ, 1 GB ram, intel DG35EC classic series with windows vista premium WHQL certified, NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS. MY experience of note windows [BASIC SCORE] index is only 3.5. It is possible that if I increase my RAM 3 GB or 4 GB, then my side index will be 4.5 or 5.0 or higher. ANSWER me quickly.

Not enough information to answer. Please indicate all your scores rating experience. your base score is the minimum of all partitions. This will indicate the area in which you need to improve.
In all likelihood, it's your 8400GS which is probably causing your low score. I have a 8300 IGP, which scored 3.5 on the graphics, because that is all just powerful enough to run Aero. The 8400GS is roughly equivalent:
GeForce 8400 GS 8300 IGP
Base clock (MHz) 450 500
Shader clock (MHz) 900-1500
Clock of memory (MHz) 400 400
Amount of memory 256 MB up to 512 MB
64 - bit 64-bit memory interface
Band bandwidth memory (GB/sec) 6.4
Texture fill rate (billion/sec) 3.6

Hello
The functionality of Windows Vista experience Index that is designed to help better understand
How Windows Vista and other software will perform on your computer.
As I know the Windows experience index scale varies from 1.0 to 5.9.
A higher base score means that your computer run better as a computer with a lower score.I don t want to explain the characteristics of everything because there are a lot of pages useful Microsoft that already provides this information:

Satellite A100 - low Windows Vista performance index
Hey there,
I bought a Toshiba Satellite A100 just for more than a year now with Vista Home Premium. I recently formatted the laptop and installed Vista Business. When I got Home Premium, my 'Windows experience index' (found in Control Panel > system) has been a 3.0 for the graphics. Under Business, is however now that 1.0. I guess that it has not detected the graphics hardware on my laptop.
How do it detects hardware?
> I guess that it has not detected the graphics hardware on my laptop.
I put t know what do you say that it has not detected the graphic material, but you should definitely check out if the graphic and other driver drivers Toshiba have been installed on your laptop properly.
In addition, the Windows Vista experience index can change and can go down if more programs are installed on the system.
I noticed that my Windows Vista performance index decreases every time if a 3rd party application has been installed and then removed from the system. In my opinion, Windows Vista index experience might be less because you have installed a newer version of the Vista operating system which contains functions of Vista more and so would need of more resources.
Best regards

Higher of Windows Experience Index rating with OLD machines
I'm a computer technician at the Brazil. I noticed that a few old machines, certain factors, have better performance than current. The difference is not visible in the points leader, but in use. Open programs or install a LOT more quickly. When this happened, the performance index, marks high score for HD as 7.3 for common HDD Samsung F3 (different from normal 5.9). Stroller?
Anyone know anything about this?Examples:
Machine 1:
Motherboard: ECS A785GM-M
Processor: Athlon X 4 640
RAM: 2 x 2 GB Kingston DDR3 1333 Mhz
HARD drive: Samsung 1 TB
HD Wei score: 7.3
Machine 2:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H
CPU: Intel i7 2500 K
RAM: 4 x 4 GB Kingston DD3 1333 MhzHDD: Raid0 2 x HD 1 TB SATA3 SEAGATE 7200 RPM ST100DM003
HD Wei score: 6.1
The first machine, "slower" than the second victory of common (open, install, manipulate programs, etc.). In the benchmarks, the second victory. Together with the operating system Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with updated drivers.
Sorry my bad English.
Hello VbCrayon,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
Score index performance Windows (WEI) rates your computer on the five main elements, giving you a number for each. Your base score overall, the one that really counts, is as good as your worst performing component. If your video card and monitor are top of the range, but the capabilities of your processor or memory trolling, the primary partition of WEI will be the same as that obtained by the
slower part. This may not seem fair. But for the average PC user, a low or intermediate Windows experience index score is very good. Your computer will be powerful enough to run the popular Microsoft Office programs (such as Microsoft Word), surf the Internet, store and edit photos, and communicate via a webcam.Windows Experience Index measures the capability of the hardware and software of your computer configuration and expresses this measurement as a number called a base score. A higher base score means that your computer will perform better and faster than a computer with a score of lower base, especially when more advanced and resource-intensive tasks running.
Each hardware component receives an individual under-score. Your computer
base score is determined by the lowest subscore. You can see the following link for more information about Windows Experience IndexAdditional information:

t440p i5 4200 m windows low experience index
Hello, I have this laptop (t440p with 4200 m i5 processor and 4 GB of ram) since may, and the first time I run the windows index of experience, I had 3.8 in cpu. A few days later, after updating the bios and re - run this index, I am 5.1 in cpu and am very happy!
Last month, I connected a duplicator from Lenovo and re - run index. This time, I got 4.9 in cpu.
A few days ago, I bought 16 GB of ram and the ultra docking station, and after the installation of ram I raise the index. Now, I got 3.7 in cpu!
This number does not change. I get the same index number for cpu with or without docking station.
So, what happens? Any ideas?
Are there settings in the bios maybe? (Installed bios is GLET70WW (2.24) 21/05/2014).
Someone with the same computer laptop, what index you get for cpu?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Ian
Last night I did a lot of research and reading, and I found it!
The solution is here: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Why-are-my-Windows-Experience-Index-scores-so-...
With two words? Always have the battery connected and use the 90W Adapter. Most of the time, I had the battery away (trying to preserve life) and I used the adapter 65W (trying to keep the green planet...)
When I handed over the battery and connected my t440p to the adapter 90W, after the execution of windows experience index, I saw a wonderful 7.2 next cpu!
I swear, I will never take the battery out of my t440p more!
Anyway, thanks to you all.

Vista Search & indexing does not work
When I go to Control Panel/Indexing Options/Advanced/show Options all the locations of some files are to check, but the OS(c:) est grisée.) I had turned off at the same time & now cannot get it turned back on.
How to make this work?
Why indexing taking so long?
Why can't stop indexing or turn it off for awhile (it interferes with other programs sometimes)?
Why seek complex with a bunch of drop downs and it usually does not even get just a subfolder. I searched (using the F command) 3 letters in a title only and got a response from an area not indexed that contains NONE of the letters, and it took several minutes. @!
Some MS answers say to use the troubleshooting Index feature, but it doesn't seem to be indexing window.
HelloThese two showed more problems of search for Windows 7, however, they also seem to be
able to affect Vista as well.
1. one thing that seems to have an impact on several is the bit REACH has been set on some files
Index cannot be set and search for cannot be found. So the ATTRIB-a *. * bps, which means archive
is REMOVED for the files in the folder/directory Parent (top) and those in all the subfolders/sup-
directories.Check out this link.

2 another problem seems to be McAfee and some other antivirus programs are interfering with the
Index or search functions. McAfee, must be uninstalled using the uninstall routine in
Windows AND the removal of McAfee too of course no remains are left. (Possibly other antivirus
programs are also what causes this error.) Of course, you want to move to another antivirus

Windows Vista / Aero on my Equium M70
Hello. I just downloaded Windows Vista RC1 for my M70 that only, I bought a couple of months it is from Curry. It has Vista capable sticker on it and the seller has confirmed that Vista will work properly with 3D enhancements.
Of course, I want to have a full experience of Windows Vista. Yet, Windows Aero does not work on my machine because of the graphics card: Mobile Intel (r) 82915 GM/GMS/910GML. I didn't bother installing the basic version again. I did some research for the past hours. The equipment meets the requirements of Vista but it's the Intel driver that needs to be updated and Intel have yet to put the pilot. I sent them an email about this, and they said that it is not their policy to disclose information about software that may or may not be current. They also stressed that Vista is not officially released yet.
What I want to know is, Intel released a driver for my machine/chipset compatible with Windows Aero, even after that Vista has been officially released? He has seriously upset that my laptop, that I spent so much may not be at the height.
Help, please!

-A DirectX 9 capable graphics processorAll portable Windows Vista Capable will be able to run at least the base Windows Vista experiences. To enjoy the full experience of Windows Vista, including the Windows Aero user experience, ask for a Windows Vista Premium Ready designated compatible laptop.
"Windows Vista Premium Ready" designation is given to a Windows Vista Capable laptop that meets the minimum recommended for Home Premium, Ultimate, Business, or Windows Vista Enterprise edition.
Features available in editions of the specific premium Windows Vista, such as the ability to watch and record live TV, may require additional hardware.

How can I stop Windows Vista Search Results including files that have already been deleted?
I use Windows Vista Home Premium Version 6.0. When I use the windows search feature (navigate from the 'new' start icon) search results include files that have been deleted. This is quite annoying because it dilutes the value of the search result.
Does anyone have a solution to this? I have seen similar posts but no real solutions... any help would be much appreciated! THX

I tried to rate of virtual Vista WEI... three times. All three times, the assessment completed, but I got an error message after he ended saying that WEI assessment cannot be completed. Here is what the error message says Word for Word:
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Windows experience index...Cannot complete the assessment.
The assessment or other operation did not completely succeed. This is due to an error reported from the operating system, driver or other component.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
These extra spaces have been in the error message - I DON'T work the SPACEBAR twice more by mistake. What should I do about it? But hey, at least I can use Windows Aero.Just checked the RAM card on the virtual machine, and it is 128 bytes. Not megabytes or kilobytes, a few bytes. I'll see if I can adjust the amount of video RAM in BIOS and see if that solves the problem.
Hello droid,.
Your question is beyond the scope of what is generally answered in these forums of consumers. I would recommend reposting in our virtualization Technet forum
