Windows Vista HP serv.pk.1 + 2, repair, file repository using ck.disc, prob. & solutions etc.

I have recurring problems with the menu problems and solutions, problems are reported, but I don't know if they are resolved. The biggest problem cost me a lot of money and is not yet resolved. Is that a lot of people know, it's when you self-test repair my computer, or start or menu when the disc check is run. This is the problem where the lines scroll quickly until they reach the line where it says something like ckcrdisc... and just, it hangs and stop to scroll through the rest. I remember when I got the program first and used scroll for a long time. I've seen this question asked several times but no REAL ANSWER or the INFORMATION of MICROSOFT CO. ITSELF? Why not? Is this some sort of Ministry of defence question? Could someone please help me with an honest answer to these?' s. because until this point I was VERY happy with my Windows Vista program, same door to Best Buy where I bought the computer and the program was originally installed and they charged me $60.00 to use my disc and 'fix' that I knew how to do it and lost my photos and some information of 3 years. But I'm not a loyal customer it more because they said it was working fine now. Answers are appreciated please. Thank you, John Blair * address email is removed from the privacy *.

Hi Blair, j.

· What problem in the face that you were invited to use reports on the problems and the Solutions Center?

· What was the result which was provided in the history of the problem?

Try the methods below:

Method 1:

Download and use the utility of diagnosis of hard drive on the site Web of the manufacturer with a check, if this can help. You can download from the link below: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&softwareitem=pv-68105-1&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

Method 2:

Check your hard disk for errors by temporarily disabling the security software installed on the computer.

You can check the link for the procedure below: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    It is made of wihin a vista operating system

    you are not for this toshiba recovery disk

    you will need to borrow a dvd microsoft

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html

    or backup your data and reinstall

    Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send vista recovery discs

    they do it for a nominal cost of $

    also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

    you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

    Ask them of the exact key sequence

    Save all data, because it will be lost, do the above

  • I need to reinstall Windows Vista home Premium, but I don't have it on the disc, I got a serial number.

    I've upgraded to windows 7, the upgrade requires a previous version of windows must be installed before it can be used.

    When I installed the upgrade first, it worked perfectly, unfortunately I do not have a set of recovery discs before upgradeing from Vista to 7 (stupid I know!).

    I bought the components to upgrade my PC and want to reinstall windows, but cannot without Windows Vista Home Premium disc, and I can't find anywhere to download them, or find someone willing to let me copy their discs (I only need a copy discs, I have my own serial number).

    True to form, I also forgot to make disks of backup to my laptop before it got a virus (edition windows Home premium), feeling very stupid.

    If anyone knows where I can get copies of these discs, it would releive a lot of stress.

    That you have a legable Vista product key, then use these installation files to make a .iso and then bootable DVD/USB as shown here:

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/software-OS/w/microsoft_os/Microsoft-Windows-and-Microsoft-Office-downloads.aspx

    This will install Windows Vista with the activation of the phone. Note using your Windows 7 update product key directly with the good Windows 7 .iso file directly should work and you should not need to install Vista. You can, or perhaps not to activate by phone.

    Hi carlywray,

    Your computer came with Windows Vista preloaded? If so, contact the manufacturer for the disk recovery or a method of recovery of your operating system. If you have purchased a full copy of Windows, see this Microsoft document.

  • Windows (Vista) can not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: < root windows > \system32\ntoskrnl.exe

    When I start windows, the message that I get a black screen is Windows (Vista) cannot start because the file is missing or corrupt: \system32\ntoskrnl.exe. Please reinstall a copy of the above file.

    I tried to launch a system of diagnosis without a disk and everything going on. I then tried running windows in safe mode and it won't allow me. That's when I switched to an installation disc supplied with the system. I tried to recover the system from there, but it would not go beyond the option of choosing an operating system. Once I got to that screen, there was NO operating system choose.

    I tried to restore my computer and there is no restore point.

    I renounced restore my computer and thought I'll all start over and install windows vista all over again. This was not the case either. I followed these steps:

    1. Turn on your computer and insert the CD or the DVD of Windows Vista.

    2. Install Windows page, follow all of the instructions that appear, and then clickInstall now.

    3. On the Get updated important for installation page, we recommend getting the latest updates to help ensure a successful installation and to help protect your computer against security threats. You will need an Internet connection to get the installation updates.

    4. On the Type your product key for activation page, we strongly recommend that you type your 25-character product key in order to avoid problems during activation.

    5. On the Please read the license terms page, if you agree to the terms of the license, clickI accepts the terms of the license.

    6. Follow the instructions on each page. On the type of installation do you want? page, clickCustom.

    7. On the place where you want to install Windows? page, select the partition where you want to install.

    8. Click next to begin the installation. You can see a compatibility report.

    and then had this error that says;

    windows doesn't have can create a partition on disk 0. The error occurred when preparing the partition selected for installation. Error code: 0x80004005.

    Now I am stuck and don't know what to do.

    Someone at - it solutions for me. Help, please.

  • Windows Vista has stopped auto update cannot update manually. Used windows 'Mr fix - it' returned error code: 0 x 80040154

    I don't know when this problem occurred. All of a sudden I lost sound on my Windows Vista Business System. In trying to find a solution to this problem, I went to the Microsoft Fix - It Center and downloaded the troubleshooting Fix - It. After insalling the Fix - It store and then you try to run the program an error code indicating: "C:\windows\System32\dssenh.dll is not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program using Intallation to original media or software to support provider or system administrator. "before you begin to solve the problem, as well, I decided to create a restore point, then I went to windows update and had an error code: 802440F when you try to update. Go to the Microsoft site and then try to download the updates manually it immediately opens the automatic update dialog box and activating returns the same error code: 8024402F. After reading the list of error codes, the closest codes of this number were 8024402C and 80244022

    and the main board seems to rerun the update with the firewall shutdown, then restart the firewall after the download. I did this and still have not solved my problem. I think I have a sound card problem, but would not interfere with the automatic windows update. I then tried the option repair on windows vista drive still no luck.

  • How can I get Windows Vista to stop the shortening of long file names?

    I copy the files with long names in .zip files. Whenever I drag a drag the file to .zip (also with a long name) file, it renames the .zip file in a much shorter name. This only happens on my computer, my wife can perform the same task that I'm with her computer, and it won't rename the file name. We're both under Windows Vista. Is there a way I can get to rename the files? Thank you!

    How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    https://secure.TX.Acer.com/rcdb/main.aspx?brand=Acer

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11; Acer is in some models Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    XXXXXX
    Hi Randy,
    Welcome to the Windows Vista answers Forum!
    I have a few questions about your concerns:
    (a) game in which you try to read?
    (b) is this the case with all games or any game in particular?
    (c) you are trying to play the games that are built with Window Vista?
    (d) what version of Window Vista do you use?
    You can also try the suite of measures to define the association:
    1. open the control panel. (Classic view)
    2 click the default programs icon.
    3 click on the link associated with a file type or Protocol with a program . (See screenshot below)
    4 click the extension file type to change which program .exe association opens. (See screenshot below)
    NOTE: It may take a while to load up
    5 click on change program button.
    6 if the list, select the program that you want to be associated with (opens) the file extension. (See screenshot below)
    (A) check the always use the selected program to open this type of program , and then click OK.
    7 if the program is not listed, then click the Browse button and navigate to the .exe of the program you want to default to open the file extension.
    (a) select the program.
    This should solve your problem.
