Windows vista installation disc does not start.

So I decided to wipe my hard drive and do a clean install of windows vista. It was working fine until after you have installed sp1. I restarted the computer, and there's just a black screen. I tried to launch the installation disc. He manages to pass the Microsoft corporation loading screen, the cursor appears and I can move it, but the screen remains black.

When I reinstalled windows it says that the hard drive can fail quickly, so that he might be. If this is the case then I'll just disassemble the laptop and get a few parts.

Hello

If you got this message hard disk, perform a test of it.

If it failed, you can always replace the hard drive and reinstall Vista, instead of demolition it.

Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > search your computer specifications > know brand of hard drive > access the Hard Drive manufacturer's Web site > find and download hard drive Diagnostic software and make a record of start of it on the computer that you use to get here, following their instructions > test your hard drive to see if it has failed.

And you can also use this method to test your hard drive:

Windows tried to recover, but could not. Is it possible to get this machine to start without doing a new install? The new facility will lose important files.

    Hello

It's a normal reaction after replacing the hardware that you have replaced.

The hard drive with the installed operating system contains the old motherboard drivers, etc..

They must be replaced with the new motherboard, drivers etc.

You will need to reinstall the operating system and then install the new drivers of motherboard (you should have a diskette of drivers for it), if the new installation does not probably them, that it will not...

  • Windows Vista (64-bit) does not start.

Last night, I installed the new McAfee antivirus due to having a virus that prevented the windows firewall to allow me to surf the net via my router (usually would work when directly connected to the modem). The antivirus has worked very well and I was able to access the internet very well. The rest of the evening consisted of me Star Trek Online patch and play a little of it and there was still no problem. This morning I woke up to find my computer screen in the the Startup Repair stating that it could not load Windows Vista.

  • Windows Vista on T500 does not start, recovery CD does not work

I T500 with Windows VISTA, but the system will not start.

When I turn it on, I can see Vista for some time of loading progress bar display, and then I get the blue screen with this error:

    UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

When I insert the recovery disc, it starts, but I can see that the screen of welcome with the spare wheel, no option to start the recovery.

A note: I have two sets of CD recovery. My T500 came with CD for Vista and Windows XP. I re-installed Vista some time after the purchase by using the Vista recovery discs (so the CD are OK). I did windows XP Recovery discs this time, and they don't work now too (I end up with the screen of spare wheel). When I had Windows XP I had a blue screen a lot from the start, that's why I reinstalled Vista.

Second note: I tried the chkdsk /r and fdisk/mbr using the FreeDOS CD - no change. (these are recommended programs to run when you have UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME, I see on the net)

Anyone could help with this... Well, absolutely essential?

OK, I found a sort of solution, managed to run the recovery CD and reinstall the system.

That's what I did, if someone wants to know or have similar problems:

    (1) created linux rescue CD

    http://www.SysRescCd.org/Main_Page

    (2) running linux, copied all the data on the disk external usb (you can read ntfs drives using the rescue CD)

    (3) deleted C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys

    (suggestion of)

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/itprovistasetup/thread/a2ed1ff1-3c60-4CFD-ac4e-72f2... )

    (4) replaced the files listed in:

    http://www.tipandtrick.NET/2008/Windows-Vista-startup-hang-and-boot-failure-after-SP1-on-corrupt-DRI...

with files from another Vista station (I copied the sys files using the USB)

After you restart the projected system still blue, but the recovery CD worked!

I can see on the forums, many users experience problems similar to mine, and there are many many different solutions (I spent three nights to try ;-)

    Hi mate,

These questions - and especially a BSOD - aren't very good signs of a healthy system / machine. Recently installed a few new applications or something else?

OTHERWISE, I guess some hardware failures (memory, motherboard), because these problems appearing out of nowhere are probably based material and not really software Unetelle...

When I try to activate my computer is blue but the monitor button is still yellow and I don't understand why. It takes forever to turn on or it won't turn on, can someone please tell me what I can do to fix my computer, he got to the point that it wont even turn on. I try to press the button on the monitor myself and it turns blue, but then goes back to yellow and says: monitor to go to sleep.

    Hello

If when you turn on your computer appears nothing, including the Logo of the manufacturer or the Motherbnoard, but it seems that you have a hardware problem.

"It takes forever to turn on or it won't turn on.

"it's gotten to the point that it won't even turn"

Who is; sometimes lights up or not al all?

    If "not at all"

Monitor > cable > Port > that is either connected to a graphics card in a slot on the motherboard or integrated graphics hardware that is part of the motherboard.

You can try swapping the monitor and cable. then the graphics card to see if they are OK.

Do you receive "tweets" at startup.

If under warranty, I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the computer.

SE not under warranty and you do not have to work inside a computer, find a good local repair shop.

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

As you never received a recovery disk when you bought your laptop Acer here is how to use the internal recovery Partition command which must be...

"How do I restore my computer using the eRecovery Management program outside of Windows?

    http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

    To start the system recovery:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt and F10 keys.
    3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows splash screen, press the Enter key.
    4. etc.

And if you have problems with the help of the Partiiton of recovery and Acer supplies more recovery media for previous models preinstalled Vista, you may need to use this method:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

Have you changed the boot order?

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order and boot from the Windows 7 DVD:

If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
