Windows vista installation interrupted, click OK to restart the computer, and then restart the installation

I was doing a reformat of the factory for windows vista on the laptop of my son (packard bell EasyNote LJ 65) when the battery is dead and the computer turned off. When I started it back up it gives the message: the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows Setup cannot continue. To install Windows, click OK to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.
Everything I try, I get no further than this message, I don't know where to go to continue the installation. The computer does not see that the installation was not completed. I tried to enter the menu with F9 where I had to do the reformatting of the factory of windows but it will not give me the option to continue installation, it shows just the vista Windows, but when I click brings back me to the error message
Help, please!

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

    Hey,.

    I m a bit confused now
What exactly happens on your laptop? You can start Windows?

I think the article MS says it all: to repair Windows you need a disc of Microsoft Vista.

Alternatives to reinstall the entire system use the Toshiba recovery disc that contains a picture of the factory settings. Have you created this disk?

  • Where can I get a Windows Vista installation disc?

My old Acer laptop crashed about a year & a half.  I bought a new laptop.  The other day I plugged it to see what would happen.  He came & the guest a insert the Windows Vista installation disc.  Where can I get this drive?  Windows Vista came pre-installed with the laptop, so I do not have a disk with him.  Acer does not know because the laptop is out of warranty.  They told me to take the laptop to a computer repair shop.  Well, I don't want to spend that much money to find out what was on the laptop when it crashed.  Any suggestions?

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

As you never received a recovery disk when you bought your laptop Acer here is how to use the internal recovery Partition command which must be...

"How do I restore my computer using the eRecovery Management program outside of Windows?

    http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

    To start the system recovery:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt and F10 keys.
    3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows splash screen, press the Enter key.
    4. etc.

And if you have problems with the help of the Partiiton of recovery and Acer supplies more recovery media for previous models preinstalled Vista, you may need to use this method:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

    Hi JohnRobertsonVS,

    Method 1

Refer to the Microsoft article to download and install Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe), check to see if it helps.

I can not open Help files that require the Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe)

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/917607

    Method 2

Try the method below and see if it helps.

    a. Open a command prompt window and run the following command:

    regsvr32 msxml3.dll

    b. Press ENTER.

Note: To open a command prompt window, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right click Guest and then click run as administrator.

    Method 3

If the previous step fails then I suggest that scan you SFC on the computer that would be a corrupt system file search.

The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows Vista installation CD.

In general, yes your reinstall Dell drive is identical to a disc to install Windows genuine.

The differences are not applicable for the repair procedure. (FYI - Toshiba and HP Vista, the disks cannot be used to perform a repair install, while gateway disks will work for Vista)

Know what type of network card you have and download the drivers of its supplier.

It doesn't matter what it is always a good idea before re-install/upgrade to log on to the computer support page, download independent drivers from there and put them on a flash drive.

    Hello

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
    are a few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a

    Hello

    Try the following.

Using another PC, download the app from the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    PC login now

Once the download is complete, open your download folder and double-click on the installer - this will result in another file, which is the disk image (.) ISO) you need to burn to a blank CD.

Now, you will need to use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.

When the disk has been created, shut down the PC you can not log on, press the ESC key as soon as you press the power button to access the Start Menu, insert the CD, select Boot Options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press enter - peut also have you to "Press any key" to boot from the CD if asked to.

Follow the instructions on the guide here to remove the current password.

    Kind regards
