Hi Hogup,

1 when was the last time it was working fine?

2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

3. you receive an error message when you try to close session or shut down the computer?

4. the computer is in a continuous reboot loop?

Method 1

Check and make sure that the settings here are correct on the computer.

Change the Sleep button to become a button stop by following these steps:

(a) click the Start button

(b) click on Control Panel

(c) switch to Classic view on the left

(d) double click on power options

(e) identify the power plan, then click on "Change Plan settings".

(f) under the list, click 'buttons and lid of power '.

2. click on 'Start Menu Power' the default setting is sleep.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

(a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

I hope this helps!

  • Impossible to reinstall Lightroom 6 retail DVD.  Gives the error message "Windows Vista not supported."

After a horrible experience with the upgrade of Windows 10, I re-installed Windows 7 Pro and had to reinstall all my programs.  When I try to install the retail DVD of Lightroom 6 version, I got and error message that Lightroom does not support the Vista operating system.  This is NOT Vista; It is Windows 7 Pro x 64 SP with installed updates.  Installation stops there and will not continue!  I then reinstalled my old version of Lightroom 5.2 (who has updated to 5.7) without problem.  How can I bypass the installation process that incorrectly detects Vista?

  • My turns Windows Vista Home off when I close the lid and custom back on unless I restart my computer wireless

I have a Toshiba laptop Windows Vista Home. Recently, every time I close my laptop lid, and try to turn it on a few minutes later, the wireless devices were disabled. When I try to reactivate it from ConfigFree on wireless network connection to activate, it said everything was active except for wireless devices. The only way I can turn it back on is by restarting my computer. It only started happening recently and for first of all, I would stay on. No idea what's wrong?

    Hello

    Maybe this can help.

Assuming that the signal is strong, and that there is no noise in the electrical environment (http://www.ezlan.net/wbars.html ).

Uncheck the box to the NIC of energy economy (I.e., do not leave the card save energy).

There may be some variations on where is the energy saving setting.

Here are a few examples, YMMV, look around your systems.

If the support site has a newer version of the drivers and installed current ask drivers the most up-to-date drivers use this method.

In Device Manager, right-click on the adapter.

  • Help, Windows vista updated suddenly out of nowhere and now it stops and restarts everytime I turn it on.

I was online when suddenly windows updated and rebooted on its own. When I signed up in the hour glass repeated "busy", and then it suddenly takes me to this error page. It gives me only like five seconds to read, then it tries to restart. It seems to work only in safe mode. It's a HP dv6 Windows vista I got like a month ago, and the only programs I have installed were firefox, and boldness.

  • Windows vista not install updates, how can I solve this problem

I took my computer compaq running on windows vista & my windows updates will not install what can I do?

I have been working on this since April too and may not know how to solve this problem.  Last update was in March.  I used the MicrosoftFixit.wu.MATSKB.Run with no luck.  He says that he can not solve the problem and leads to a MS web page, which doesn't help.   I also stop the update services and several DLLs and then restarted them without success, according to a website of windows troubleshooting.  I am not prepared to roll back, nor do I want to reload the operating system.  If I do that, I'm going to Linux.
