Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465) not __will not install - constant judgment of Internet Explorer

I couldn't after several attempts to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465).  I finished all of the instructions that will appear on the screen to fix this problem and nothing works.  I'm not a PC geek and want just to get this update loaded.  I hope that this will solve the constant stop my IE WHENEVER I use it.  I'm at a point where I want to just remove Vista and go back to XP.  I NEVER had a problem with it.

Please contact something that can do a non-techie.  I look at all these forums, but I don't really know how to do all this.  So, unless there are instructions step by step, I'm a lost soul.

Thank you

Scappi

All facilities have their own advantages and disadvantages. We at Microsoft is constantly working to improve, acceleration and provide better services to our users use microsoft products and therefore release of service packs. Service packs are released to solve the problems of the operating system such as the provision of software to hardware compatibility with other products launched on the market (not necessarily Microsoft products), Microsoft publishes fixes for minor problems experienced by users of Microsoft operating system and constantly keep abreast with the latest technology. So I recommend you keep your operating system up to date to benefit from the advantages mentioned above and for the proper functioning of the operating system.

It can cause minor problems during the installation of updates (honestly what OS doesn't?). But its better to deal with minor problems (which can be fixed) after the installation of updates, as the face of the problems otherwise.

  • Windows Vista Service Pack 1 will not install. -It says "cannot install, change recovery."

I recently installed windows Vista Home Basic on a hard nine. I want to install sp1, but after long hours of reboot and installation, step 3 of 3, it says "cannot install, restoration of the changes." subsequently, an error message appears indicating that an .exe file (it started with MNT) is corrupted. I was able to remedy this through the command prompt (chkdsk) but I want to know how to install sp1. I ran an sfc scan result were he finds files corrupt, but he couldn't fix it. I then ran the option upgrade from vista startup disk and sfc shows that there are corrupted files. The newspaper did not show all corrupted files sfc was not able to solve. I ran sp1 install from both standalone and windows update. I chose the option the first time and the second time, I shut down the computer and booted from safe mode.

Thank you for your time and your help.

    Other-

This is a known bug 'Dumb MS' and very simple to fix. It is simply that the installer wants to put a bit of a music (the standard windows sound) file in a particular place, and the directory does not exist on some copies of OEM Windows XP home.

You just need to create the folder he wants before rerunning the SP3 update. Not at the moment, I can't find a link to the exact thing, but if these directories do not exist, create them. You must be logged on as administrator user to do this.

The file beethoven.wma wants to be in the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Shared Music".
    OR maybe "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Music\Sample sounds\" on XP-Home Edition

However, the "All Users" directory down may be missing or not have NO defined permissions.
To fix it, right-click on "All Users" and click the option 'security '.

    Click on the security"" tab.

    Click on "Add..." »

    Click on 'Advanced... '. »

    Click on "search".
