Windows Vista Setup will not download files

Whenever I try to download a file from internet, it stops at 99%.  He did it only for a couple of months, so he must have had a problem with an automatic update or something.  All I have this problem and know how to fix?

Hello

To make another account with your same password - ADMIN upgrade - REBOOT (do not only closing session) and
connect that account - you can download to use it? (do both ADMIN - one accounts in case that you
migrate to it and another to test and difficulty).

It while in the new use of the account to LOWER your account regularly APPLY / OK to need - and then lift back
for the ADMIN - repeat several times - descent - go downstairs - raise - repeat. This allows to clear corruption.
Make sure that the account administrator.

Try your downloads in the new account - the downloads work in the new account?

If necessary later this is the process to fix a damaged account or migrate to a new.

Then connect to the old account and try these to erase corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

Run DiskCleanup - start - all programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup

Start - type this in the search box-> find COMMAND at the top and RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

Enter this at the command prompt - sfc/scannow

Run checkdisk - schedule it to run at the next startup, then apply OK then restart your way.

Then reset IE

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you ALREADY had

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore advanced settings, and then click RESET - APPLY / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on Reset all areas - APPLY / OK

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install
"(and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again)." Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right. Permit

Could be that a BHO - BHOremover - free - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run - not all

    Windows Media Player won't play .avi or .mpg files; files which I know to be readable by Windows Media Player. In addition, this program has played these accurate files in the month of August. The files are readable on other programs. I searched other forums, but it is impossible to find an answer to this problem, except the recommendation of a codec - although I don't know how I have "lost" the codec in the past two months. Today, spontaneously and erratically, Windows Media Player recognizes the .mpg files, but not the .avi. Microsoft Security Essentials have installed and up to date, if it is not a virus. Have problems in other programs with the recognition of previously readable files. Not sure if it's related, so I'll post in separate... forums but I'll give you a link if you want to. • The file does not open, will not download files

    Greetings,

    I have three main questions: Panel, Internet Explorer and program Files.

    Some how Panel does not work. Open the window and then "not responded". I thought about downloading some updates but found that internet Explorer does not work either.

    Internet Explorer opens same. I have no other internet programs that get me on the web, but to make matters worse, I have trouble downloading the content as well (programs, files, updates). I continue to receive messages that Live onecare does not work. These problems have been very frustrating.

    In addition to all this, my Microsoft Office Word files will be not open. The only way I could open them is to open the document in the program. Not so bad, it's just embarrassing.

    I think that those issues could be related. I tried a few things that are are erect unsuccessful (System Restore). The only way I am able to work now is in safe mode or a "guest" account

    In short, I need help!

    Are there other options that I could use to get my system running again normal?

  • Windows Vista update will not install and causes cell phone restart. Laptop will not reboot and Startup Repair cannot fix the problem.

    Windows Update tried to install 4 days now. Every time he tries it tells me it failed and trying to install in manually. He said then the laptop restarts, but it does not start. Startup Repair tells me that it cannot solve the problems.
    I don't know how to go beyond this problem, can someone help me? I have no disk Vista as it came pre-installed on my laptop. Help, please!

    If your Vista is preinstalled, ANY support for your laptop is the manufacturer of the computer, not Microsoft.

    Try this:

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
