Windows Vista will not be activated. I'm unable to activate by phone.

Why not line activation sms enabled windows, activation of the phone is very expensive

original title: activation of sms line

I see no reason why your system should not turn on correctly.

What happens if you try posting at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate ?

It must pass.

Otherwise, go to the Diagnostics page - www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag and see what it has to say.  Follow any instructions on the adjustments of the system on the site of diagnosis and then try validation again.

Once validation passes, try the internet activation once more - if it still doesn't work, then you will * have * to use activation by telephone and speak to an operator.

You can try to resolve your problems with the updates of Windows in a better forum, in your own language - look at the top right of this window and change the region affecting your own (Taiwan?) - then go to Windows updates to the forums there.

  • Windows Vista will not see Seagate 320 internal drive to format

    I bought a 320GB Seagate (7200 RPM) opportunity and I'm trying to install Vista on it. The computer BIOS sees the drive, but loading Vista it does not show the HD as an external drive and ask drivers for it. The disk has been previously formatted for Mac.

    Try to use SeaTools for Windows.  See also: Seagate Installation Assistance

    Please note that the hard drive needs to be internally mounted inside the computer because Windows Vista will not install on an external hard drive.

    Hey Brian39

    If you change the motherboard that you normally have to reinstall vista

    your hard drive if you ever reinstalled vista contains the drivers for the old motherboard etc.

    and if vista is pre-installed you can not put the motherboard unless you do so in collaboration with the computer manufacturer

    If a retail license, you can change the motherboard

    but you will normally always reinstall vista for reasons

    Help. My HP G50 will start but the Windows Vista will not download. I pressed the keys F 10 and 11 F. The memory is good. I backed up my files using the F 11 Save function. I tried to go back to an earlier date using System Restore, no results. Can reset the computer by default, there is work in the F 11 key and then recover my files. Do I need a recovery disk?

    Thanks for the reply. I made the. Backup of files Wizard. At the end she asks 'Please insert the USB key' - I suppose to download files on an external drive. Well I bought an external drive and connect it to the USB port, nothing happens. He said only: "no available drive. What should I do now. I did all the steps, according to HP said on their site of troubleshooting online and this is the last step. I will not buy an HP again. A friend recommends a Sony.

    Hello

    (1) what is the exact full error message?

    (2) is the specific question of an update?

    (3) remember you to make changes to the computer before the show?

    You can try the following methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

    Troubleshoot problems with installing updates.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-problems-with-installing-updates

    Method 2:

    Disable your security software installed on the computer and try to install the updates.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Windows Vista will not start and cannot recover

    I have a desktop PC HP Compaq Presario, which has about 2 years. The problem started when Windows Vista was not able to start. It would load up on the "COMPAQ" screen and then it would just go to a slider black white screen with a flashing white light on the top left. Now that I've seen a lot of discussions with this similar problem, but it seems that people would rather not reformat in order to lose any important data. But in my situation, I have some important data on my computer so reformatting would be fine, except...

    -Recovery system won't work. I insert the 1 system recovery disk, all files loading correctly, it allows me to choose if I want to reset the computer to factory settings, I click Yes and it finishes the reformatting step. But then the problem comes when I insert disc 2, original content relocation step. It fills up to 10-16% and then I get a blue screen of death STOP: 0 x 00008086. I tried SEVERAL times and the same thing happens.

    -The next thing I tried to do is to fix the computer via a copy burned Windows Startup Repair. Loads everything up, I spent the page where I choose my language, currency, etc. The problem comes when I get to the System Recovery Options. There is no listed BONES and a box appears and says "Searching for Windows installations", and then it stalls just on this pop up. This problem is quite recent, because before there is no pop up and there is simply no OS listed, so I still could not repair or restore in any case.

    -Before, when I was able to go into the advanced options on the Startup Repair disk (when he was not of "searching for Windows installations" pop up to stall on), I'd go to the command prompt in attempt to chkdsk/r C:. All bad sectors or groups or something else would be fixed, and then he would hold to step 5 of 5 when checking free space.

    -In addition, I tried to make a diagnosis of memory via the Startup Repair tool. That's what I get:

    File: \boot\memtest.exe

    Status: 0xc000000f

    Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt

    Furthermore, I cleaned my computer, it is now almost completely free of dust. In addition, I can't get into the BIOS, I can't get into safe mode, and now I can't have in the command line

    Hello

    If you are unable to enter the BIOS and all the other problems, you have hardware problems
    and need the help of a real store of the computer (no leeks and glances at a Best Buy or any other

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
  • Windows Vista will not complete installation on SATA hard drive
    I tried to install Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit on a new desktop computer Acer X 1200 (less than 1 year).  Vista recognizes the drive, format and copy all the files on the disk installation.  Then restarts, is preparing to launch for the first time and get to the part where it says installation finished and hangs there.  The green progress bar does not move and it hangs indefinitely.  The hard drive is SATA and I put a new disc in hard, but exactly the same thing happened.  The motherboard has no IDE port on it and there is no option in the BIOS for the IDE emulation.  At this point I think the motherboard is bad, but I am working also on a laptop HP 1 year with SATA hard drive that does exactly the same thing.  The two systems are pre-installed with Vista Home Premium.  The two systems see the hard drive, but will not complete installation.  I even tried to run the WD Tools Data Lifeguard before installation with no luck at all.  There is no error message or error code, just of hangs and end no installation.  You have any suggestions for this?  Thank you.
    What was my problem I bought the equipment... like motherboard, memory, cpu, and video
    Vista would not be install.would blow on the end of the installation so I tried to put it natively and it worked!
    Hi David,
    Install and activate the original operating system provided with the computer first (I guess it's XP).
    Update to upgrade to Vista, then use the Vista product key that you used at the time to update (because it works now as you WILL upgrade and do not try to install only a facility full after an installed clean).
