Windows Vista: windows could not start error. is suspended from the "Microsoft Corporation" loading bar then black screen BIOS not acpi compliant

After you have installed the driver for the zune hd, I was asked to restart my computer. After the reboot, start froze on a white screen. I've seen this before and it is usually because of some connected usb components. so I manually powered down the Tower, disconnected the cable from zune and restarted. This time a screen saying that windows could not start, "launch Startup Repair tool" was recommended. Select this habit makes the startup hang to the progress bar from Microsoft corporation, then to a completely white screen. Although strangely, once only a blue error screen appears which says that the BIOS is not acpi compatible. I can't restart with F8 to go into safe mode, "windows error recovery" still appears. "Start windows normally"produces the same results as the tool to restart launch system. " I have a drive to upgrade to windows 7 and a windows XP upgrade disk. the disc of windows 7 hangs at "starting windows" and the XP disc gives a blue screen error: stop: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0c 0000034, 0 x 00000000, 0 x 00000000)

I think I have a BIOS problem, but I don't know how I could continue dealing with the repair. I have no success update the bios from usb flash. Any idea is appreciated.
Update: managed to start with F8, choose to boot in safe mode and loading hangs after "load: \windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys"***.
the machine is a gateway LX6810-01 (friend motherboard)

Hello

1. What is the exact error message when Windows Vista does not start?

2. you have the disk Installation of Windows Vista operating system?

I suggest you change the mode of RAMA to IDE in the BIOS. You can contact the PC manufacturer for assistance.

Note: BIOS change / oxide of additional metal (CMOS) semiconductor parameters incorrectly can causeserious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

In addition, perform a check disk in Windows Recovery Mode.

(a) Insert the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

(b) press a key when the message "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD".

(c) select a language, an hour and the currencyand a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

(d) click on check drive for errors.

(e) in the System Recovery Options dialog box, select the drive of your Windows installation and click Next

(f) to the System Recovery Options dialog box, click on check Drive for errors.

(g) use the switch/r to run the disk check.

Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost

It will be useful.

  • "Windows could not update the configuration to start the computer" error during the upgrade of Vista in Windows XP

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 1505, that is running Windows XP Media Center Sp3. I'm doing a place in upgrading to Vista since the disks to upgrade Dell... Everything's fine until the 'Expansion of the files' [27%], then the installation fails with this message: "Windows could not update the configuration to start the computer. Installation cannot continue. Any changes made to your computer during the upgrade". I did a google search for a fix that involves changing a value in the registry in the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E976-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} for example change the value to PartMgr Upperfilters. Unfortunately, this value was the default for my registry key changes could be made. Some other fixes involved the renaming of Upperfilter.bak, for Upperfilters unfortunately this .bak value does not exist in my registry.

I tried to boot from the disk of Vista and changing the msconfig for a selective startup but without result.

In addition, the stall even appears at a similar point when you try to upgrade to Windows 7. Is it because of the presence of hidden Media Direct and Dell restore partitions? Compatibility Assistant programs for the two operating systems found nothing significant. Anti virus has been disabled during the installation procedure. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

Not quite, but pretty close. Media Direct could not lock the boot sector. It must be a BIOS lock or a mechanism of protection provided by your antivirus software.  Given that, I would check your program settings then for all that prevents changes to the boot sector. You may find more easy just uninstall it and reinstall it after the upgrade. Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

    Hello mtb123,

    1. have you tried the steps suggested by Srinivas R in the previous post to make a startup on your computer repair using the Windows installation disc?

    2. you remember what changes you made to the computer before you start this error?

I suggest that you access the system recovery options using a Windows Vista installation disc and do a startup repair and if this fails, you can do a restore of the system from the Windows recovery environment.

You can see the previous post of Srinivas R to verify the information on the system restore.

    Hello

I suggest you borrow the CD of windows vista to your friends

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

I suggest you check in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:

If you be able to start your computer in safe mode, I'd say make clean boot and check.

Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
