Well, here's all the info and desperately, I hope someone can help me. I spent hours and hours trying to solve this problem. I'm not a computer expert, so I'm trying to understand it and not doing a very good job.
We have a HP G60 Intel Celeron series. It is only 6 months old. It is probably covered by the guarantee but... lucky me... I did not save the receipt.
The computer crashed completely. It did not come with any CD, so I got the Vista cd, we had for our main desktop computer. Initially, the laptop had Windows 7 top, but since it did not come with any CD, I used what I had... that has Vista. The computer now works again but I don't have wireless. I looked under control panel, Manager of devices and do not see my info wireless. If I go the info only listed in the title of the network card is RealTek Family Controller... whatever it is.
I really don't know much about computers I was just hunting and pecking trying to download this or delete that... and I think I make things worse. Can someone give me some ideas on what to do?
Please change the above to remove all that white space, it is difficult to treat. :)
The version of Vista that you used wasn't probably OEM (from HP) for your computer.
HP will sell the disc of Windows 7 not expensive since you already own Windows if you need to
Make sure you know the Product Code to install it.
Check the configuration/settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 when you start - make sure that the WiFi is enabled
for devices internal bulit - in. The problem is probably that or the drivers are not installed
If it is available for Vista.
If a PC if "might" be on his own card - if so remove ALL power and remove and reinstall
the card - remove and replace - are not just tight.
Check with HP drivers for your WiFi.
Support HP & drivers
If you can't get it working then you can disable it and use an external USB WiFi adapter.
I hope this helps.

It seems that you need to buy a USB wireless dongle.
When I start my PC HP TouchSmart it does not recognize my wireless network. It says wireless network adapter cannot connect to the wireless network and the details said network adapter "Local network connection * 16 ' does not work properly. The strange thing is that if I leave my computer for a few minutes, then restart it twice, it recognizes the network and starts working. Frustrating is that I have to do this everytime I turn on my computer. It takes at least 10 minutes of starting and restarting my computer before it will recognize my wireless network. Any help?
Go to the website of the manufacturer of your router > make sure you have the latest Firmware in Vista for it.
Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/notebook > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for it last network adapters Vista drivers > download/install the.

Try without commitment TCP/IPv6:
If you still have internet connection probs, one thing to try is the separation of the TCP/IPv6 (which is done by going to network connection > right click > properties > it uncheck > OK.)

I just bought a new device Sierra Wireless mobile hotspot, the Pro of the Sprint Overdrive. The wifi connection works very well in my PC with the exception of a PC set that I am running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack two. I am told that the problem is with Vista and the Atheros AR5007EG wireless network adapter. The current version is 18.104.22.168 and it tells me the device Overdrive only with version 22.214.171.1248 or higher will. What I can, and if I can, how to move the driver to the required version?
You can try to update the latest drivers for the network adapter and check if it helps:
It will be useful.

I tried many solutions to solve the problem, as going to tab the wireless one adapter power management uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. nothing has worked so far. you have set in the router? Are there obstacles in the path?
Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.
Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click
top - tab of the driver - write version - click on update driver (can't do
nothing that MS is far behind the certification of drivers). Then right click on the Wifi
Device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.
Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.
You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.
After watching the system Maker you can see the same device manufacturer
more recent versions. (Those become your fonts of rescue system manufacturer).

The Windows 7 RC Device Manager does not recognize my wireless network adapter (for example: Atheros, Intel or Realtek). I tried to install all the Toshiba support drivers, but none of them work:
After installation, they ask me to connect the unit to my computer (of course it is still on the motherboard!).
=>, Is there a way to know what is my Wifi adapter?
that one failed: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD7201PO000SR01.htm (this is the only Word to say "network adapter" with a yellow exclamation point).
-Online someone knows when will be released Windows 7 drivers on the website?
Before you begin to install all drivers WLAN you can find on the Toshiba site you must make sure that wireless network card, you have exactly. You can check in the Device Manager-online properties-online Details of the local network adapter device.
Need you an information like PCI\VEN_XXXX & DEV_XXXX
If you have based this information you are looking for with these terms on this site in order to determine the exact WLAN card:
After that, you can download the driver appropriate for your laptop. Before installing, you must uninstall all other versions and restart the laptop.
Also, make sure that the WIFI is enabled with the hardware switch and FN + F8.
When I draw a line from nearby wireless networks (with or without WEP security) to the laptop in the middle icon,
a popup message with the text: the provider application is controlling the wireless card.
Does anyone know what this message or where I can get the answer to this question?
After clicking on it you may see far (only the 'ok' button is available), the connecting line with the laptop wireless network disconnects after
a few seconds.
Thanks a lot for helping me...
In my opinion this message appears because a 3rd WLan utility configures and controls the WiFi connection!
There are different possibilities:
The laptop uses the Intel wireless network adapter and the Intel Proset utility configures the WLan
The laptop uses the Atheros WLan card and Atheros Client utility configures the WLan
The windows have the option has been enabled and do this job.
In this case ConfigFree application cannot configure and control the WiFi connection!
How can I set the preset wlan on ONE for an Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter running on a Vista computer. Currently, the default is OFF and I need to use the Fn F1 to bring up the option to turn it on, Iwant my laptop to connect to my wireless router automatically without having to do that.
In most cases, it is a configuration in the BIOS of the laptop that will solve the wireless by card.
Then start the laptop enter in BIOS and look for an entry that configure the wireless to be all the time card.
Where necessary the manual or computer support site must have the necessary info.

Sorry to hear that you have to connect to a wireless network adapter trouble.
To help you further on this subject, it would have been really helpful for us if you had
mentioned a few details such as:
(1) is there an error message you get when you try to connect to the internet?
(2) is the persistent problem with all browsers installed on the machine?
(3) what is the brand and the type of the network adapter (whether ADSL or an adapter included)?
However, there are a few steps that we can try first:
a. the following link has a very good tutorial on how to install a network adapter on the computer:
(Note: the link is for Windows XP but works for Windows thus 7\8)
b. the following link provides a holistic approach for DIY difficulty on the connectivity of Windows:

I recently bought 2 new laptops Acer running Windows 7. Each has an Atheros AR5B93 Wireless Network adapt installed. In trying to establish a connection with a Linksys WRT300N wireless, I get an error saying that it was impossible to establish the connection. Other computers on the wireless connection and the two machines work Windows 7 connects via Ethernet. Please help solve. Thank you.
If you have 3rd party security meet try to uninstall it and clean the system out of its residual process.

I looked for answers to this, and it seems that all they are pointing to the same question. Grave wireless network adapter failed after the Service Pack 3 update. My question is the same thing, I can't get the updated drivers (I have the original installation software, but they face STOP Installation) at some point, the OS would hurt identify the device that the atheros wireless network adapter and it worked but now nothing. Right now, I would like some clarification.
1. how to fix this?
2. why Microsoft has not fixed the problem? If it worked in SP2, why don't you just restore the defective file. I understand the WLANAPI. DLL is the main culprit and yet once wonder why neglect?
Thank you in advance,
The watch supplier Atheros (the VEN_168C bit) link which you already knew and the Netgear WPN311 above (the DEV_0013 bit) device. If the database is to be believed, I guess Blitzz were product badging Netgear or at least using the same chip.
Netgear drivers can help...
Set a restore point first.
I had no problem with my front wireless (and run wireless of my sister is not the network). Now, when I turn on my computer the wireless signal turns blue and the icon says he's working. However, my computer does not recognize all wireless networks. The Windows Network Diagnostics indicates that the computer has an installed and configured wireless network adapter. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver wireless lan broadcom for vista on the compact site, but that did not help.
Can anyone help?
I took my computer to my friends shop, sent it to HP and they replaced the part. It took a few weeks and cost about NZ$ 80. Problem solved.
Take it to a professional!
Unable to get a wireless connection. I checked in the Device Manager and the Realtek wireless network adapter had disappeared. Had already tried to update the driver, but I guess if the unit isn't here, he doesn't want a driver.
Found one (I mean heritage?) Wireless network adapter Realtek by doing something that I don't really know anymore, but that doesn't seem to work and will not be an update of the driver. In addition, my USB ports do not seem to work; "does not recognize USB devices", so the wireless mouse does not work and now my DVD player does not read DVD, however seems to read CDs.
All of these flaws could be connected in a very simple way I have not discovered yet? My computer is virtually unusable. He sends me crazy. I checked the updates of Windows and made only Toshiba many downloads etc. as I can for the last 2 years but nothing seems to work.
Really really welcome ideas. It works on Vista.
Thank you very much
> have done as much as possible etc Toshiba downloads I can for the last 2 years
And now you have a confused until the Windows installation where nothing works correctly of course if something doesn t work correctly you can take a driver update, but stop just install what you find. In the end, nothing will work, and your only option is to reinstall Windows because you are not able to remove all of these drivers. If you install or update a driver you really should know what you're doing!
Anyway, if you still use the startup of the operating system pre-installed drive HARD or Toshiba Recovery disk recovery facility. This will restore the original with all the drivers and tools settings. Your laptop will be working properly after that.
This is an accurate description on HARD drive recovery:
My laptop also did EXACTLY the same thing in the morning today. No effect with the wireless on switch on the computer. The light is always red. Last night an automatic update that happened (update for windows Vista (KB955430) 09/05/2009 09:03), which cannot be deleted. I don't know if this problem is related with the update. My laptop is HP Pavilion dv6439nr. Running Windows Vista Home Premium (Service Pack 1). Wireless adapter is "broadcom wireless 802.11 b/g WLAN PCI" that is gone now.Windows network diagnostics shows "this computer doesn't have a card installed and configured wireless network."HP Home Network Center shows "Wireless status: disabled; When I try to enable wireless LAN, it shows "wireless network adapter could not be activated.I tried to scan and reinstall the driver but the device does not appear. The wireless router works fine with other laptops. If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appreciated.Thank you
It seems at this point that your wireless network adapter has a hardware problem. Check out this troubleshooting guide step by step on the HP Pavilion support web site. If you can't get your active wireless card, you will need to contact HP or repair HP authorized repair for hardware Center.
