Windows was unable to complete the USB format?

The device is working properly, that I've seen in Device Manager
It's a HP 8 GB USB key
but impossible to format

Hello

1. what exactly happens when you try to format the USB key?

2. you get any error message?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps:

Method 1: Try to format the USB stick in disk management

1. click on start
2 type diskmgmt.msc in the search box of start and press on enter

3. right click on the volume that you want to format, and then click format.

4. to format the volume with the default settings, in the format dialog box, click OK, and then click OK again.

Method 2: I would also say that you are trying to connect the USB on another computer and try formatting.

If you receive the similar error even on another computer, then contact the manufacturer of the car of pen for more information.

Hope this information is useful.

  • "Windows is unable to complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation.

INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS FOR THE FIRST TIME

Hi, I am using the windows 7 Home premium with Sony Vaio netbook.  This message appears when I've been windows installation since it is newly purchased, "Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, run the Setup again"when I click ok, and then the computer restarts automatically and then come back to this message. I reboot several times but the result was always the same. Home premium to Windows 7 has been with the netbook already, so I don't have the Disc... can someone help me solve this problem? Thank you very much

My colleague has had a similar problem when she came back to the States with a new Vaio from Sony, I didn't just run recovery and reinstall Windows and its worked good since. She even gave me a hug for fixing.

The problem seems to be the OOBE which would suggest its more hardware than windows, but I understand your nature, you want to be right about everything.

  • Error message on Windows XP, "Windows-Delayed Write failed, windows was unable to save all the data for the file.

I use windows xp as the operating system. I bought the new 3G huawei data card. While surfing internet, between a pop-up is displayed

«Windows-delayed write failed, windows was unable to save all data in the file C:\Documents and settings\new\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Session Storage\004285.log.» The data has been lost. This error can be caused by a failure of your computer hardware.

After this computer freezes and I have to restart my computer. Please help me how to fix this problem.

The error basically says that he tried to write something on your hard drive and for some reason that unfinished write operation.  This could indicate a bad sector on your hard disk, damaged disk or a problem with your hardware.

Whenever a problem involving a disk read or write appears, my first approach is to perform a verify operation of the disc to the hard drive.  Even if this is not your problem, it is a step of good routine maintenance. Run the disk check with the "/ R" or "Repair" option.  Note that the real disk check will be presented at the next reboot, will run until Windows loads completely, cannot be interrupted and can take more than a few hours to run depending on the size of your hard drive, the quantity and type found corruption and other factors.   It is better to perform during the night or when you won't need your computer for several hours.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit OS is unable to complete the installation.

Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit OS is unable to complete the installation.

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 of 2007 which came with Vista and has been updated 2 years later at 7 w. I had to reinstall 7 W... 3 or 4 times since 2010. I guess that my machine can't handle W7 very well.

My current problem started with a BSOD problem. After trying some suggestions Internet on how to solve this BSOD problem that did not work, including repair of Windows, I did a data back up mode without failure and then decide to reinstall Windows 7 from the MS CD. My level of understanding is limited, but as noted, I've done this before with success. What I didn't understand is there seems to be another unsolved problem which does not allow the complete reinstallation of windows.

I did a clean install, then a formatting and in both cases, W7 could not complete the installation. It progresses to the final stage of "complete installation" and then there is a second error message 1 that I can't read... "" a problem has been detected... close... "."  It seems to be a reboot loop.

I have since read that the original BSOD problem and the 'detected problem' could also well be linked to the display driver. And this driver it must be disabled before performing a Windows installation. But I'm not able to access Safe Mode or the control panel to turn it off. If this driver is the problem, is there another way to turn it off?

Or are there any other suggestions on how to complete the installation of the operating system?

    Thank you.

  • When you try to restore the system using the system image, Windows 7 does not find the USB HDD.

I have 3 computers backed up with their images of system on an external USB drive.

However, when you try to restore a computer using system image, Windows 7 fails to find the USB HDD.

I think it would be probably due to the fact that the WindowsImageBackup folder is probably not in the right place or a superfluous folder. Here's an example of how my disk backup has arranged record...

    Root for example E: /.

    -Computer #1

    - WindowsImageBackup
    -ComputerName #1

    -202348 backup 2016-05-29

    -Catalogue

    -SPPMetadataCache

    -MediaID (file)

    -Computer #2

    - WindowsImageBackup
    -ComputerName #2

    -Catalogue

    -SPPMetadataCache

    -MediaID (file)

    -Computer #3

    -ComputerName #3

    -202348 backup 2016-05-29

    -Catalogue

    -SPPMetadataCache

    -MediaID (file)

I realize that the WindowsImageBackup folder should be at the origin, so I moved this computer folder #1 a less E:\

However, restoration is unable to find it and can't even see the USB HDD.

Can anyone offer advice on what I can hurt?

When I went to another port for the USB, everything worked fine! Simple solution, that I should have tried first - duh! :-)

My USB 3.0 4TB drive was originally on a port USB 3 (which was either missing or not recognized by my Bios) and when I changed my old disk ports USB 2, everything has worked well!

    Thanks again, all...

  • Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to initialize the store directory. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. Error code: 0 x 80007114

Operating system Windows XP, at startup, I get the message: "Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to initialize the store directory. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full"and displays the error code: 0 x 80007114.  (I have a new drive hard with enough space) Outlook Express always open well and functioning normally.  The message mentions and how to fix the problem?  Thank you, Rick

Jump here (nothing Bruce suggested is false), I did a search and found this old article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/245419), which indicates that there is a bad entry under the identity key in the registry (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for background).  So if it's a big problem, you can do the steps suggested in this article and that will fix it.  Or if you have just one account, then backup your settings and the identity key and then delete the identity key and then start OE and it will establish a new, and you can then set up your account again, and then import the messages from the older directory.  But it does not indicate the major corruption, so you can just ignore it.
