Windows Welcome screen

Windows Welcome screen lists all users does not appear when I try to log on at startup, even if "connection using the Welcome screen" is checked.

My computer OS is XP Home Edition.

I have this same problem and now resolved. Please try this option if you are using Zonealarm.

ZoneAlarm removed a registry key value.

  1. Add new topic in the following location.
  2. Start--> Run-> RegEdit
  3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
  4. Right window...    Right click--> New -> expandable string value --> name as "UIHost"--> value as "logonui.exe".
  5. Save and exit Regedit.
  6. Restart the PC.

You can foudnd the Welcome screen.

Please try this.

  • The screen us black until I get to the Windows Welcome screen, where should I start to troubleshoot?

When I turn on my computer, the screen remains black, until it gets to the windows welcome screen 7, then the computer and video works fine.

I don't see the start of the video card or the blue HP screen information at the beginning upward.

Problem is solved.   When I checked the computer with a new video card, I noticed that an HDMI cable was used to connect to my screen.   This allows information to move to the screen until windows load the correct driver for my video card, resulting in a blank screen.

  • How to customize the windows welcome screen 7?

Is it possible to change the standard background image that appears when the Welcome screen is displayed after the start? If this standard image of windows 7 may be changed, please provide instructions not to not showing how it can be done.

    Thank you.

Step 1: Open the Windows Start menu and type regedit in the search bar.

    Step 2: right-click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE , then select Search.

Step 3: Search for OEMBackground, which should be in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background. If the key does not exist, add a new DWORD value named OEMBackground.

Step 4: double-click the OEMBackgroundentry and change the value from 0 to 1.

Step 5: Open Windows Explorer and go to the following path: %windir%\system32\oobe.

Step 6: Create a new folder named infoand open it. (It may be already created)

Step 7: Create a new folder in info called backgrounds. (It is usually present.)

Step 8: Rename your wallpaper desired as backgroundDefault.jpg and place it in the bottom of the folder (images must be less than 245 KB).

Note: the first four steps are not usually required. At least on my PC, only the last four steps are needed.

  • After the windows welcome screen just goes black?

After that I entered the password for my laptop, it remains on the Welcome screen. After some time (sometimes) it will move past and I just black. The mouse still works and the cursor can move. No page loads later. I use Windows 8 and this happened for some time. Sometimes this will be repeated but other times it works just as usual. Any suggestions? Please help as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Hi Zachary,.

This may be a problem with your display drivers.

What is the brand and model of the PC?

As you face this problem at random and since you are able to start the office, I suggest you follow these methods and check if it helps.
    Method 1:
Updates driver may be available through Windows Update.

To check the updates of the driver,

    (a) at the start screen, type Windows Update.

    (b) click and tap settings on the right side of the screen, then select install optional updates in the results on the left.

    (c) when the Windows Update Control Panel opens, click on Check for Updates on the top left corner to receive a new list of updates.

    Method 2:

If no updated drivers are available through Windows Update, see the website of your video card manufacturer to see if they have updated drivers available.
    Install the driver yourself

    Hello Boli.law,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

Sorry, you are having this problem!  However, in Windows Vista, there is no setting to change the boot logo in the registry. And with your dual monitor set up it stretches on both screens.  Thank you!

  • Get rid of the Welcome screen login

    Hello

I hope you can help me.

I'm not even sure what "topic" to put this issue in the framework, so my apologies if I chose the one badly.

For some reason, Windows Welcome, screen, requires me to login with my password, rises when I turn on my computer, but I have not had this before.

In the past I didn't at all, instead welcome screen, my hotmail e-mail inbox would come immediately, and I would be you connect this way.

However, now I got the first from Windows Welcome screen, I have to open a session in TM hotmail/Messenger screen is not coming and I have to open my Hotmail Messenger window and then have to manually enter my password again.

I didn't log in Windows with the Welcome screen before, only necessary to log my hotmail/Messenger account, and it's frustrating me to give my password twice now.

I have tried everything I can try to find out how to stop the home screen to come, but can not find a way to stop it.

Please can you help me? I would be very grateful if you could list the steps I must take to disable the Welcome screen.

Thank you very much and I hope to hear from you soon.

    Lynn.

Here you go--> Configure Windows XP to automatically open a session

  • T410 - Lenovo welcome screen

I lost the Lenovo/Think homescreen on the host when I installed VMPlayer with Win 7 x 64 as a guest operating system, he returned to the standard Windows Welcome screen.

No idea how to get it back?

    TIA

Look for the background image of black screen Lenovo, which should be found here:
    C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper\Think

Then, paste it in this directory:
    C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds

    Then rename it to "backgroundDefault.
It must be a JPEG file (the Lenovo Black background is already, if).

And then the next time that you log in it should be there.

You can change the background of the screen to connect to everything that you just want to by replacing the appropriate place of the Lenovo one image (the image size must be< 256="">

If this does not work, open the registry editor and go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windos\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background

And change the value of the key "OEMBackground" 1. Make a backup of the registry before you do and only change this value - so that you can restore if it won't.

Other that that, you should be good to go.

  • I have windows xp home edition. Last week after windows automatic update and restart, I lost the logo of the user on the Welcome screen.

The right side of the Welcome screen is just completely empty.  No logo user, I can't in my computer normally.  I found, I could get around this by Ctrl alt del, but this makes me as a 'guest' and I can't access all the controls or updated windows help, which apparently requires the user administrator status.  How do I trouble this mess and get my normal connection?
